It is that time of the year when we get to enjoy watching a bunch of incompetent baffoons try an impress Lord Suranal, whilst we laugh and mock them from our sofa's.

I am reading all of their quotes in this morning's Metro and I already want to slap each and every one of them.

Yes agree with Roussette

Fruitboxjury · 27/10/2016 22:51

Can I join? I thought that was a great task this week, surprised that between the two teams they made less than 10k between them in libertys though. Not a great group this year, would have likedto see the first pm stay longer. Not a big surprise to see Mukai go tonight, he just doesn't seem a good fit for sralan and found himself a bit overexposed in the early tasks.

I like Dillon and also karthik's softening and we might start to see a few strengths. Doesn't absolve him from being a dick in the second episode though!

Alana next to go I think, out of her depth and making mistakes despite being good pm last week.

Grainne not as strong as she looks, Rebecca very bland.. can't quite find her usp?? Paul seems to be getting quite a bit of air time but not doing much, sofiane seems full of it.

Is JD a dark horse or non runner? Courtney, haven't worked him out yet either.

Is there a thread for winner predictions?

ellenanora5 · 27/10/2016 23:09

Are we going to start liking Karthick, I think we might you know, he was totally different this week (water/cup/bottle thing aside) he made a real effort with the personal shopping task.

I like Grainne, needs to be more sure of herself though, she got very flustered at the end.

I never saw a couple of the candidates before tonight, unless I missed an episode but I don't think I did.

ShelaghTurner · 27/10/2016 23:41

So so so glad that eejit has finally gone. I couldn't stand him and his silly bow ties and his smug arsed expression.

On the other hand, I like Dillon St Murphy and Karthik has grown on me. Haven't sussed out the women properly yet although Alanna is as thick as a ditch.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 28/10/2016 05:13

Some of the candidates have been invisible up until now.
So glad Mukai went , he was a self proclaimed expert in everything .

Roussette · 28/10/2016 07:18

Hi Fruitbox please do join in our ramblings!

I think JD is just Sralan's sort of bloke whereas Dillon St.Eyebrow... well, I can't see them working together somehow. He always seems to be on the edge of a strop and ready to flounce off.

I like Trishna... she speaks sense and cuts to the chase. Rebecca I just find drippy. Sophie Anne is all smoke and mirrors and I think he'll come unstuck. I think Courtney (what a name!) is a dark horse. (he has nice eyes - totally shallow me)

Samuel, I've never clapped eyes on him before, is he a shoe-in?! Can't help it but Karthik still gets on my tits, does he ever shut up?!

Fruitboxjury · 28/10/2016 09:09

Thanks Rousette! Yes it's an odd group this year. I'm desperately overthinking the editing - they love to set people up for a big fall (Courtney?) but then likewise need to give just enough hints throughout the series so the winner isn't a complete dark horse!

I really like Dillon but agree doesn't sound like he will work well with Sralan, hope he does well though.

Karthik - as he gets brought down a peg or two I think could do well and we are going to end up loving him. He won't win in the end, his ego is too big and ultimately you can see him either thinking Sralan is his best mate or potentially even challenging him, neither of which will sit well with LordSugar. I think he will learn a lot from the process and be a better businessman and colleague because of it, one more explosion though and he's out!

Trishna interesting, I picked her in episode one as my girl to win (my guy was sofiane Blush) but am starting to think she's just a bit too unrefined? Blunt is fine but I feel somehow she is about to demonstrate a serious lack of EI....

Samuel... where did he come from??

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/10/2016 11:52

That bowtie was a crime against fashion and humanity in general. He should have been sacked for that alone!

ellenanora5 · 28/10/2016 13:17

Yep agree with you there SDTG, I absolutely hate bow ties, and how did he manage to avoid having the piss ripped out of him by Rhod.

I like Dillon too ShelaghTurner, but I wonder has he got what it takes, he needs to be more assertive but not so much that it will look like he's having a hissy fit.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 28/10/2016 22:36

I like Trishna (totally didn't know her name until this thread), Grainne and Courtney. Something about his mannerisms remind me of my brother and similar eyes so I like him as I can't not like my brother Grin.

Can't stand Karthik, can't work out what JD or Paul is doing there. Rebecca is such a wet fart. Don't like her.

Despite my dislike of Jessica early on, she has grown on me. She is very pretty as well, not that it's relevant but she is.

Grainne only had an undercut on one side of her head, I wonder if she had had some sort of surgery there rather than it being her hairstyle. She didn't seem like the undercut type.

limitedperiodonly · 29/10/2016 10:54

Karthik was really hard done by. What is this: 'I've got my eye on you' stuff? He was told to change and he did. It's not his area of expertise but he tried hard and succeeded. Grainne and Mukai are experienced in retail and by comparison, they failed.

I understand that Grainne didn't put him on the shop floor because she thought he might blow up but he didn't, so it wasn't fair that she was allowed to keep bringing that up. And her dithering over who to bring back was awful. I can't understand why Sugar didn't criticise her for that.

It wasn't fair for Sugar to call Karthik Basil Fawlty. It doesn't matter if Sugar doesn't like his style, what matters is what the customer thinks. He charmed that woman. And it was relevant that he nearly sold the bag. She didn't buy it but she left feeling really good, which is what customer service is about. She might even come back and buy it because he planted the idea that she deserves it. So if he was working at Liberty's for real, she'd probably come back and she's a high-spending customer.

Same with the family. All right, they didn't buy much, but they liked him. He's good with people, which is surprising because everything before showed that he was abrasive.

Sugar is always chippy about high end retail, despite dressing very well and expensively himself. I don't care that he or anyone else thinks that expensive handbags are a waste of money. Of course they are, but that's not the point of luxury shopping. If you want to spend only £10 on a bag, that's fine. But the same is true of someone who wants to buy one for £1,000.

dillite · 02/11/2016 20:46

Are we all ready for tonight?

PurpleDaisies · 02/11/2016 20:47

dillite · 03/11/2016 21:06

dillite · 03/11/2016 21:07

Scooter mascots? Really?

PurpleDaisies · 03/11/2016 21:08
