Of course, cherin. Come back and draw Elvis for us cherin! Not sure I want him to be a meercat though. Doesn't quite have the same something as a stag...

Firegirl · 18/09/2016 21:22

Yes rich, that's the picture I remember. Now perhaps you and orphan with Elvis?

Ilovelblue · 18/09/2016 21:24

Here's my contribution of an apple and honey cake and fluffy towel to let me in to Lechley Park.

Anyone fancy a piece of cake now?

Rhubarb01 · 18/09/2016 22:45

Yes please ilove! I'm never one to turn down the chance of having my cake and eat it.

I reckon the writer of Poldark has been reading this thread as Ross informed Demelza to take care as "A woman's head can be turned by a man in uniform." Really? That made me laugh as well as the fact that the officer he was referring to also announced in a Scottish accent at one point that "There's been a murrr...der!"

I also think Prudie will be facing competition in the syllabub department as according to old mother Poldark the latest scourge of Bath is bosoms displayed like "capons on a platter" Grin,

On the whole a better episode today although Ross is looking a bit threadbare at the moment and Francis' scything leaves a lot to be desired.

The plus side was the Episode 3 trailer for Our Girl was run immediately after the end of Poldark.

I finally got to see the trailer rhu! I never seem to have the tv on for them, despite MrP complaining how much I watch.

MrP had a mate over and we chatted through Poldark mostly, though I just watched Victoria. I wish I had capons on a platter, I'm like Prudie, more of a side of pork sliding onto the floor....

Rhubarb01 · 18/09/2016 23:22

First time i've seen the trailer too pix. It didn't immediately grab me. I do hope this isn't going to feel like the series 1 episode 3 where we felt the need to fast forward bits of it in the middle. Would love it to end with a similar forehead resting type moment - preferably not with Dr Jamie shouting "She's gone off..."

Ilovelblue · 18/09/2016 23:55

I saw the trailer too! Was it the first time it's been on?

Still a bit baffled by what looked like GL in her beach attire/sarong and stretched out on a settee with EH looking on. Seemed odd even off duty on the base, especially with somebody you must undoubtedly bear a grudge with.

Rhubarb01 · 19/09/2016 00:00

I don't know if it's been on before but I hadn't spotted it although I guessed they would run it after Poldark.

I suppose Georgie is at some sort of rest place or hospital before going home? It looks like she is studiously trying to ignore him/make it look like she's not bothered - but I bet she is - I know I would be.

Ilovelblue · 19/09/2016 07:06

Morning. I guess we are a different generation to GL, but it wouldn't be the way I'd sit etc to show total indifference. Hard to know how I'd feel at being jilted but the resounding slap she gave him proves she hasn't totally forgotten the hurt.

icemistOBE · 19/09/2016 07:16

She's showing (she hopes) she doesn't care. so sitting casually as if he doesn't affect her.

You know like, when you saw an ex and would be all happy happy but dying on the inside but couldn't show them.

Well, that's what I see it as Smile

pixieg1rl · 19/09/2016 07:39

I'd say GL will have to go through some rest and debrief before going home, maybe they'll be putting her in a hotel or something for some of it.

icemistOBE · 19/09/2016 07:39

Michelle and Tony are on the One Show tonight

Ilovelblue · 19/09/2016 07:50

You're absolutely right ice, it's just that I'm not as good as that hiding my feelings. One of my colleagues tells me he always knows instantly whether I like somebody or not as it shows on my face.

Rhubarb01 · 19/09/2016 08:07

Good intel ice. Nice to see TG getting some of the limelight as well as he's doing such a great job. Will definitely be watching. I reckon the show must be doing very well. Anyone know what the viewing figures are like? It's got to have beaten what was on the other side - another boring detective show!

What are the odds on the BBC announcing a third series pretty early on this time even by the time the last episode airs? Mind you I suppose it might depend on how the series ends. Do you think it's possible - just putting it out there - that there could be two potential endings one of which might be a cliffhanger if there's a chance of another series? Mind you, I don't want a cliffhanger of the 'Home Fires' variety (whoops a plane has crashed into the doctor's surgery who will live and die? We'll never find out durrr!)

I've a friend coming for tea tonight (hence last night's apple cake) so I will record The One Show.

The BBC made a huge faux pas pitching OG against Downton last time. It looks as if Wednesdays are working far better. It may even win some TV awards this time??

icemistOBE · 19/09/2016 08:20

Viewers increased from episode 1 which is unusual for a drama apparently. Over 4 million but when add in iplayer views will be much higher.

Rhubarb01 · 19/09/2016 08:33

Given MK's huge following and dramatic performance in this I wouldn't be surprised if she gets a nomination at the National TV awards that the public vote for.

I had a look on the BARB website but the most recent viewing figures only go up to the week ending 4th September at the moment. Hopefully the figures will be out soon - I was very tempted to say ASAP then! OK, must go to work and earn a few pennies, Have a good day everyone!

Rhu I wonder if we'll have any favourite sayings from this series which will compare with last time? 'Put some bloody effort in' and 'What have we just learned' still stick in my mind two years on. Mustn't forget 'Ditto' either.

pixieg1rl · 19/09/2016 12:24

Billy Big Bollocks is a good one so far. And Weapons grade scrotum.

Firegirl · 19/09/2016 13:21

Comparatively mild, but what about "I need to see Capt James" ?
GL says it to Nerfula when she spots the watch. One for the alarm clock, first thought of the day?

pixieg1rl · 19/09/2016 13:58

That's a good one firegirl. Mine are a bit NSFW.

Olliepops05 · 19/09/2016 14:01

Busy weekend away with DD at a gymnastics competition therefore first opportunity to read new thread, ladies you seriously impress me with the details you pick up from the watchalong.

I noticed there is a Who's watching fleabag on the telly addicts page, really surprised no mention of BA, just mentions the sister and Olivia Colman.

How sweet LT got engaged over the weekend.

Will try and watch the one show tonight, the viewing figures same a bit low, thought they would have been much higher as MK is extremely popular and she has an enormous amount of followers on social media.

kuiakaituhi · 19/09/2016 15:02

TONY GROUNDS! HEY MR GROUNDS!!

There are over 38,000 posts to this site about your (our) show and it's not entitled Molly Dawes, though we love her. Or Georgie Lane.
Though opinion is still divided at this early stage, I think we are beginning to like her.

NO!!! The thread is entitled "Our Girl and CAPTAIN JAMES Addicts. Point taken?? Might that help with your planning for a third series?

pixieg1rl · 19/09/2016 16:03

I thought no footage existed of the kilt fitting?!

Richtea looks like she put extra special effort into her outfit that day, but you might have missed a bit on the facial hair waxing.
