That's the nuts pix. Definitely superior finger action there.

I must have a very little mind because that shower/meerkat gif is giving me hysterics. I'm never going to be able to watch that scene without laughing - just like I can never hear "He's gone off..." without laughing now.

Monday or Thursday is fine by me "Ilove". Is Thursday too early for us to have completed several re-watches, knowing how obsessed we all are?

Did you watch the sequel to Hope and Glory rhu? I never got around to seeing it and was put off by the reviews.

What did you think of Bridget Jones? I was thinking of making the effort to leave the house for it. BIG decision, obviously

Rhubarb01 · 17/09/2016 23:16

I haven't seen the sequel to Hope and Glory but it's on Netflix. I might try it tomorrow.

I enjoyed Bridget Jones Baby and everyone else there seemed to as well - an audience largely composed of ladies. There was a lot of laughter in there. I thought it was at least as good as the first film. I hadn't watched much in the way of trailers so it didn't spoil it for me. DD enjoyed it too and obviously we're different generations so I reckon it can't have been too bad if it amused both of us. Most of the original cast were in the film - everyone's aged a fair bit but at least that was realistic. Mind, you pix you are asking the opinion of someone who has admitted that a shower/meerkat gif makes her laugh hysterically....

When I watched the episode on Wednesday night, I was so busy admiring Elvis' physique that I didn't view him as a meerkat, but as soon as somebody mentioned it, I watched it again and like Rhu can't quite take it seriously. I laugh but in a slightly cringeing way. I laugh at the "The Boys Are Back in Town" scene as they come swaggering towards CJ but it's genuine amusement. Do we think TG intended us to laugh?

Any news on when Graham Norton is back on Friday nights? He's on the radio again on Saturday mornings.

Richtea19 · 17/09/2016 23:40

Sorry I missed the watch along , but fun to read through. Smile

pixieg1rl · 17/09/2016 23:41

The meerkat thing makes me laugh too rhu

lokijet · 18/09/2016 00:27

Ok so i totally missed the whole first series - do i need to try to track it down to be fully briefed for series 2 (which I have started watching)??

kuiakaituhi · 18/09/2016 02:54

Thanks all, I am still laughing after reading back after last night's watchalong.

TG seems to be revisiting the tried and true. Remember Molly and Smurf being winched up in the helicopter in Episode 1, Series 1 ?

icemistOBE · 18/09/2016 07:00

GN back 30 Sept. All a-listers, we are not required yet Confused

pixieg1rl · 18/09/2016 07:40

Loki, it's not necessary to watch the last series to understand this one as Georgie Lane is a new character. It's worth watching it though because it's excellent

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 18/09/2016 07:54

Loved reading your watchalong even though last night was devoted to Arrow and Flash (family viewing with DS)!

What's the "He's gone off" ref though?

I wish I weighed 51kg instead of a million.

Ilovelblue · 18/09/2016 08:05

NewCross you need to see episode 3 of the previous series for that! I can recommend getting the whole series. To be honest, it's the reason we're all here!

Ilovelblue · 18/09/2016 08:06

51kg? Yes she must starve herself. No cakes or puddings for our Georgie.

Rhubarb01 · 18/09/2016 08:31

Morning! Just having another read through last night's musings and I reckon that my favourite comment is Ilove's admiration for the quality of army towels!

As for the 51kg well I did a little check with my special magnifying glasses - no expense spared in the cipher room at Lechley Park - and that profile page definitely says 51kg. However, I reckon medical kit weighs a lot - Molly used to carry a huge bag - and it's pretty hot out there in more ways than one - so it's not surprising it keeps the weight down!

newcross the other significance to the "He's gone off..." comment is that it links to a favourite humorous fan fiction story on here called 'Our Zombie Girl' which begins exactly at the point ilove mentioned. The writer, an early poster called SPOfficer (much missed) incorporated many of our daft musings on here over the last two years into the story so we've been immortalised in a way in fiction.

Another classic ladies, well done.

Rhubarb01 · 18/09/2016 09:09

I was just looking at my emails and was amused to get one of those from Amazon that refers to your forthcoming delivery of Series two of Our Girl and informs you that customers who bought this DVD also bought...Poldark, Victoria, Fleabag and The Fall.

No prizes for guessing who those customers were!

A proper good morning now - it was a rushed job before as I was off for my doctor's appointment. As expected (it's NHS guidelines), I've been referred to the hospital. She thought it was probably ok but obviously best to get it all checked out. Have come home for a second breakfast and guess what, I'm watching the best bits of OG and going to re-read our ramblings from last night.

Rhu I've always had a thing about towels and it surprised me that the ones Elvis was using seemed reasonably fluffy! I had thought they'd be thin, well washed things - maybe he brings his own. Don't imagine there's an onsite laundry in one of those camps in a godforsaken hole like where they appear to be based.

What is everyone up to today?

Ilovelblue · 18/09/2016 10:18

Oh and Rhu, I too have had the same email from Amazon!!

pixieg1rl · 18/09/2016 10:22

I would have thought they would have had those thin microfiber things that don't take up much room in luggage. Those ones are well fluffy.

Ilovelblue · 18/09/2016 10:24

I thought that long holdall he came with out of the helicopter was his rifle but maybe he needs his home comforts in the shape of fluffy towels!

icemistOBE · 18/09/2016 10:26

Confession: I've not pre-ordered the DVD yet Confused But I will the £24 price put me off but will in next couple weeks

Ilovelblue · 18/09/2016 10:35

Firegirl I forgot to say but I was like you and recognised the song but hadn't a clue who sang it. Google was my friend in the end. Mind you, there was one on the radio as I was coming back from the doctors just before "Georgie Girl" by the Seekers. I think my Mum used to have that on an LP, must be 45 years ago! It made me smile - I thought the song was very appropriate given our current TV obsession.

Ilovelblue · 18/09/2016 10:36

ice it's come down in price - it was £14.99 from Amazon.
