Well, we all have our specific skills to bring to this particular table Maddie. Hmmm, can't remember who it was then!

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2016 21:10

Might have been firegirl possibly?

Is Sister Marie the eldest sister do we think? Or is she the dreaded 'middle child' - that would explain an awful lot. What is her agenda or does she actually think she's right and knows best?

Not long back from a long day at work. You've been busy

Ilovelblue · 29/09/2016 21:27

So have you by the sounds of it mooj.

Nickel45 · 29/09/2016 21:28

I just re watched too and realised I managed to miss huge chunks yesterday! rhu, just laughed out loud too!
I want to know why no one in SF or CT (or whatever they are called) thought to check how many buses there were with the same number, and why no one on the bus, not even the driver, thought to mention that someone had gone out the fire escape ... even though there was an alarm going off! Or with all those snipers on the roof nobody noticed someone coming out the back of the bus. And even more importantly why wasn't CJ wearing his wedding ring when him and Georgie were meeting with the important people (lost track of who they all were). Mind, Elvis looked pretty hot in the black gear, really should have had him in that more often!

SoEverybodyDance · 29/09/2016 21:40

And how did Abu manage to evade SF when he was using his phone (which they were tracking) to detonate the bomb?

Ilovelblue · 29/09/2016 21:42

I had presumed it was the phone in the rucksack where they had blocked the signal to it. Did I get that wrong Dance?

moojangles · 29/09/2016 21:46

Remote detonation using mobile hence blocking signal and why it failed to go off I presume

moojangles · 29/09/2016 21:47

or stringing out storyline to create cliffhanger?

moojangles · 29/09/2016 21:51

Soz for cynicism.. offer to indulge in cj and jackson to soothe my tired brain. See you for the watchalong

MaQueen · 29/09/2016 21:54

I think Georgie's Mum just wants her to marry Jamie because he is a doctor. Any Mum, worth her salt, would see her DD wasn't really in love with someone.

MaddieMoo82 · 29/09/2016 21:55

Lots of artistic licence by Mr Grounds I think!
Thanks rhu and ilove shame it's not CJs body parts that we are talking about.
Night all.

MaQueen · 29/09/2016 21:57

Also think Georgie will choose Elvis because he loves her for who she really is e.g. a soldier, feisty etc. Whereas Jamie wants her to become a dull Hausfrau and pop out seven babies.

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2016 22:05

I'm guessing the mobile Abu was using to try and detonate the bomb was probably just some pay as you go type he'd never used before so they wouldn't have been tracking it?

Yes Nickel about no one paying attention to the fire exit being opened. I've been on a bus where the emergency exit window on the top deck kept opening and witnessed a driver stop the bus about ten times and stomp his way upstairs to shut it and kill the loud alarm. So why didn't they hear it or mention it?

I also kept thinking when everyone was off the bus "Stop staring at that bag and get out now, Elvis, you twat!" Bless him though he was nice to the lady even if he did use the patronising "my love" expression - hate that from anyone younger than me!

Definitely should wear the black outfit more, though Grin

Ilovelblue · 29/09/2016 22:16

I liked the old lady's response when he asked if that was her rucksack and she said "Not with my back!" It's the kind of thing my Mum would have said.

Yes the black outfit was rather becoming.

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2016 22:17

I also thought that Mama Lane is a bit impressed by the fact Jamie's a doctor MaQueen. They really are pushing her towards this wedding without really understanding what is going on in her head or what she has been through but I don't suppose GL will share that because it's too difficult.

She might not be in any fit state to go to Syria but she's not really in any fit state to be getting married or making decisions about her career either. I liked it when CJ told Dr Bland in the cafe that "we both know that it'll be Georgie's decision what she does." swiftly followed by CJ looking concerned when Dr Jamie presumed to know better - clearly he's not quite a man in CJ's mould wanting his wifey to be 'brilliant' apart from being briliant at 'banging out' a production line of kids by the sounds of it.

SoEverybodyDance · 29/09/2016 22:19

Yes, there were two mobiles, I think. The one in the bag on the bus and the other one in Abu's hand which he used to call the bus... I'm assuming he would use a cheap phone to explode and keep hold of his own mobile. In that case they could have traced him... but who knows. It's a far less interesting plot if they dispatch him in episode 4 because all we've got left is to sort out who Georgie ends up with (frankly yawn) and some family hysteria...

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2016 22:31

I meant that probably both mobiles (the one in his bag and the one in his hand) would have been non-registered and therefore not traceable to Abu so they couldn't track him if he was still carrying the phone although he would probably have thrown it away after use if he had any sense....we're too interested in this aren't we? Hmm

As a side issue I heard one of the main trackers on 'Hunted' being interviewed on the radio the other day and his advice to avoid capture is not to use any electronic devices.

Ilovelblue · 29/09/2016 22:40

I think we are very, very heavily invested in this Rhu.

I think we will need a new thread at some point tomorrow as we will undoubtedly rack up a fair few comments with the watchalong. You seem to know how to do them ....?

Off to sort out the meal for tomorrow night as my godson and his family are calling in on their way back from holiday. Fortunately the majority of it just needs taking out of the freezer as I made it last weekend.

Night all.

pixieg1rl · 29/09/2016 23:02

Just doing my third watch through. Apart from Angry at the Iplayer freezing on Dr Dull 's nipples I'm at the CJ/Jamie coffee bit and it's making me so bloody mad. Jamie and all his pronouncements about what's best for Georgie; dressing his control up as concern (the archers has made me a bit hypersensitive to this). And CJ taking him in and getting the measure of this petulant control freak of a man. I think there's a big dollop of insecurity there too, as shown in his thing with Elvis in the cafe I warned to Elvis in parts of this episode, and the fact he couldn't be arsed to engage with Jamie was one of those moments. Still think he's not the right choice though.

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2016 23:32

I like the way CJ is so diplomatic with Dr Jamie in spite of obviously not agreeing with him and rating Georgie's ability to decide what is best for her far more than Dr Bland. Lucky old Molly. She definitely got what her Nan would have called 'a good 'un'.

Observations on tonight's comments:

Elvis can call me "my love" anytime he likes;
Elvis can bang about up and down my drainpipes anytime he likes;
Elvis can wear black - with leg strap - and balaclava - anytime he likes

Nickel45 · 30/09/2016 00:47

So woof, how's your appreciation of the dramatic drama of the dramatisation getting on? Wink
