Well done newcross I couldn't remember who it was who threw in that clever suggestion and hadn't had time to track back through the thread - you win a 'Sherlock' for best use of of analytical deduction skills!

Morning ladies.
I totally agree lucked definately not a man and awful lungs! Poor tony, he must hate us for racking up the continuity errors.
Not much to say other than what was already said... Thought it was ok but didn't grip me. Loved CJ and the 2 section banter. Really haven't noticed CJs lisp/teeth. He's pretty perfect for me and can pull off a peach shirt pretty well. Love this other side of him well all sides of him
Wish Georgie hadnt jumped back into elvis's bed but I guess it is tv. Hoping she buggers off to Syria with 2 section and leaves the two behind. Someone also needs to tell Jamie to stop buttoning up his polo shirts too Shock

Oops it's not really peach is it?!

Rhubarb01 · 22/09/2016 07:50

I'm wondering if we're supposed to find Jamie a bit boring so that it makes us easier for us to accept that GL would want to get back with Elvis after everything. Mind you, one of the trailer scenes for next week suggested she'll spy Elvis and Debs looking like their playing happy families and possibly get cold feet or be unsure if what he says is true?

I suppose we need to remember that the majority of people watching this series either didn't watch series one or simply didn't do anything more than watch it once, enjoy it and then forget about it until series 2 came along and haven't analysed it to the 'nth degree an know every line and plot scenario by heart.

I think the shirt looks a bit peach mads - or is it just CJ that looks peachy wearing it Grin

Very peachy rhu Grin
Jamie is definately the 'safe' option...

lovelybangers · 22/09/2016 08:02

Blood test requests from Jamie ?

I wonder if she is pregnant ? either doesn't want to declare to the army as she'd have to go home?

I started watching last night's episode, but didn't see it all as DH and DS were chuntering through it, so I gave up and will watch later.

pixieg1rl · 22/09/2016 08:11

I think the blood tests are to show he's caring and, you know a responsible Doctor, as opposed to reckless flibbertigibbet weak self absorbed Harte. Unfortunately it just comes across as controlling to me

MaddieMoo82 · 22/09/2016 08:15

I can imagine she is going to get a lot of pressure from her family to stay with Jamie as well.

Ilovelblue · 22/09/2016 08:17

I can see why she chose Jamie after somebody like EH had hurt her so badly but he's very dull. His voice annoys me a bit too. Do you think next week Jamie finds out about her history with Elvis or just assumed some sort of attraction post-hostage rescue?

Rhubarb01 · 22/09/2016 08:32

I think what made me jump on the blood tests as a possible 'spanner' in the works was the fact that it gets mentioned twice - first of all Georgie tells the doctor to take bloods (would she really?) and then Jamie goes on about them and tells her to get them sent to him so she has them for when she returns! But it's probably just Jamie being over-protective.

Ilove I reckon the sister is going to drop the information about Elvis or GL will do some sort of half-confession obviously omitting some of the recent information thinking it will clear the air/her mind etc. Anyway, what did she really think was going to happen after spending the night with Elvis given what he feels about her? He was bound to keep on contacting/pestering - I still feel sorry for him when he was upset and confessing although it was accompanied by a bottle of beer!

Oh and I don't think that if Georgie was pregnant (assume Dr J would obviously be the father) that she would deliberately hide it what with being a medic. I think it would be a case of not knowing. Does anyone remember that case a couple of years ago where the female soldier at Bastion gave birth to a baby and hadn't known she was pregnant - had to be flown back with a full neo-natal team to the UK etc. It's all a bit extreme in locations like that and without going into too much detail I understand from articles written at the time about that story that some female soldiers simply continuously take the pill, injections, implants whatever is appropriate to make life easier when you are operating in areas that can't cater ideally for female needs - if you see what I mean. She was, though, only away for six weeks.

I'm sure this all a total red herring from me, so I will go to work now and leave you all in peace. Have a good day!

I think the Elvis 'confession' stuff was definitely pain killer/alcohol induced rhu. I'll give her the post rescue emotional turmoil shag for closure purposes, and hope that she realises that Dr Jamie is a reaction to Elvis; he's safe to the point of boring. I hope there's going to be a big dollop of Georgie finding her own way of adjusting to what she's experienced and realising what she wants; there's hints there, her top 3 postings were all biased to the humanitarian work, CJs advice was all about really offloading to the psychiatrist to work through this, the offer of (maybe) something similar in Syria in 5 weeks...

KeziaOAP · 22/09/2016 09:02

dance was the first to voice opinion on Laura being Elvis' daughter although others were thinking the same.

Feeling a bit flat after episode 3, the really good bit for me was more of 2 section been missing the banter Smile. Will watch again with subtitles, even with TV speakers, hearing aid missed a of of the dialogue Hmm

BlackDoglet · 22/09/2016 09:17

I dreamt of Elvis last night BlushBlush

PollyPerky · 22/09/2016 09:54

I think this series is pants.

It's utterly unrealistic- she's a medic not front line infantry with the SAS. There is no way she'd be in front line operations with men risking their lives for her partly because of the romance element.

Her diction is appalling- spent the evening asking Dh 'What did she say?' mumble, mumble....

It's like a weak romantic soap with the army factor an after thought.

Dunno how it's grabbing so much attention here.....

RedCrab · 22/09/2016 10:52

Am I the only one who wants Georgie and Elvis to get back together? Though I don't understand why Elvis couldn't have called her the morning of the wedding and explained, they put the wedding on hold while he sorts out things with his ex, establishes a relationship with his daughter and then marries Georgie, I am a sucker for someone declaring their undying love.

But I didn't see the first series so this all new to me/nothing to compare it to. I also know nothing about the army so you know...it's not nonsensical to me Grin

pixieg1rl · 22/09/2016 10:53

To answer the why question, Polly Wink

Our Girl and Captain James Addicts Thread XXXIX
pixieg1rl · 22/09/2016 10:58

I'm obviously not as romantically minded as you Crabby. I thought 'you were going to marry her. You were going spend the rest of your life with her. If you run away from that when an unknown child (conceived before you met her) comes into the mix instead of sharing it with her and working it through together then you aren't really ready to marry anyone'

Their whole relationship was so rushed. He proposes 4 weeks after they meet, they marry in less than a year. I've been with my other half for 15 years and I'm still not there.

RedCrab · 22/09/2016 11:00

I didn't know it was that rushed! And here I was thinking Georgie rushed into engagement with the second guy - two years to get over Elvis enough to meet someone else and for it to get serious enough for her to plan to get married Wink

But I admit my romanticism is marred by a very pretty man crying. Total sucker for it.

SoEverybodyDance · 22/09/2016 11:26

Oh bollocks... episode 3 did not live up to expectations for me...

I can't care about GL and Lane. They are way too unreal. Like teenagers. Quoting Last of the Mohicans and playing 'their song' was excruciating...

MK is nowhere near as interesting as LT. I hope they can persuade LT to come back if they are doing series 3. She's much more suited to gritty drama.

There are too many plot similarities with series 1 - break ups over children, the female lead identifying terrorists... What women (and Dawes) have to go through in the army is fascinating but there's so little of any substance on that here...

What was the shoot out at the hotel about? Was it related to the terrorists? Why don't the Army seem to care about it?

What happened to the humanitarian mission? It seemed to fade into nothing...

Poor CJ is just a glorious messenger, and is so involved in advising his troops about their wellbeing, that, dare I say it, it's slightly overbearing... Poor Ben Aldridge... I really hope some meaty lead comes along for him...

Also really hoping something happens next episode...

SoEverybodyDance · 22/09/2016 11:28

PS Thanks Kezia for outing me as the first one to think Laura was a child...

ourmutualfriend · 22/09/2016 11:44

Unfortunately, I completely agree SoEverybodyDance, esp with your comments re Last of the Mohicans!

The entire plot is about the GL character's love life and I don't find that interesting enough. CJ seems to only be there because TG knows we might all shrivel away without him...

moojangles · 22/09/2016 11:53

The shoot out was in response to screams from a room, man walked up beach into hotel and broke into rooms to burgle, hence screaming, security guards opened fire on him.
As for Elvis, meh, making Smurf look like a good choice!

moojangles · 22/09/2016 11:57

I'm team Jackson (thanks pix)....I love a medic(ish) me
