See now the comments you're finding endearing I'm finding annoying and repetitive - seen it all before just the names have been changed.

Thank Gid the whole episode was saved by Elvis's extremely luscious kissable lips and CJs folded arms.

Lucked · 21/09/2016 22:50

Long time lurker on these threads but had to post as I know you love your continuity. I am a radiologist and the elvis's x-Ray at the hospital was from a woman ( it had boobs on it!) and the lungs where in a shocking state, not the X-ray of a very fit young man,

cjwoofwoof · 21/09/2016 22:50

Can I thank God as well as Gid for Elvis's lips? If so I most certainly will

cjwoofwoof · 21/09/2016 22:53

Oh dear Lucked what a stinker - on a par with the wrong leg in a brace. Excellent insider info there. Wish there was an X-ray of Elvis's lips to linger over.

Rhubarb01 · 21/09/2016 22:53

Re: Torso length versus legs NVM we had much in depth discussion about this about 18 months ago (shocking but true) and decided it's all part of a formula:

If TL is greater than LL = LSC and percentage LSC is directly proportional to TL

*TL - torso length, LL - leg length and LSC = low slung combats

IDing from the back of a truck ...
Anyway, I've not really "got" this as much as the first series. I like Elvis, and I like Georgie - but don't really feel anything ... with Molly and CJ I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. It doesn't feel like the story is developing like it did in S1 - GL isn't going anywhere. And, dare I say it, but I'm not liking CJ as much in this - in terms of his character, obvs not what he looks like!! Probably just grumpy cos I was planning a night actually watching OG when it was on, as DH was away ... but his plane landed on time and the traffic was clear. After talking through ten minutes he wanted to know why I had the subtitles on ... cos you keep talking through it!!! Aagh!!!

Ilovelblue · 21/09/2016 22:56

Wow Lucked, it sounds as if you've joined us at just the right time. Very interesting observation!

Rhubarb01 · 21/09/2016 22:57

Lucked brilliant intel - thank you for that we love these details.

Nickel I got a phone call from DH ten minutes into the start and just sort of grunted a few responses for a minute or two while reading the subtitles and thinking "Doesn't he realise what day and time it is?" He sounded a bit put out but bad luck!

Oh Nickel, sorry you're not feeling the love here. I do understand what woof means when she thinks it's the same formula TG is trotting out but speak as you find and yes, it works for me.

Talking of subtitles though, I have struggled to catch a few things they've said this time and will have to do subtitles tomorrow.

Off to bed now.

cjwoofwoof · 21/09/2016 23:02

Ditto nick I'm not feeling CJ in this series at all which is deeply disturbing given that he is still extremely hot. He just seems to be lurking around and nodding a lot, saying asap.

Onlygirljen · 21/09/2016 23:08

It was certainly my least favourite episode of the new series to date, although i must confess to some similar feelings on ep3 of series 1.

Can't say I'm impressed with either of the love triangle options, as others have said, I'm hoping GL goes her own way. Like pix and woof I'm just left a bit flat - I hope it improves on a rewatch.

Bonus was that CJ remains as hot as ever, and there were some good 2 section moments.

Onlygirljen · 21/09/2016 23:11

Totally agree with you nickel on GL's character development as opposed to Molly's.

Heligirl79 · 21/09/2016 23:11

I'm another one that's not really getting into this as much as the 1st series and I don't have the urge to watch it over and over like the 1st.

Another continuity thing I spotted was that when GL was outside with the guys, she was wearing one outfit, hair up, when she was inside talking to EH, she was wearing another outfit, hair down. When she got back to her room she was wearing the outfit that she had on outside and her hair was back up again.

Rhubarb01 · 21/09/2016 23:16

I think my least favourite episode so far is actually episode 1 - I wasn't sure after that but episode 2 was really good - this one ranks above episode 1 for me. Love triangle - well I sort of wish Elvis didn't have baggage but then that's probably a more realistic scenario and there'd be no conflict or back story without it. I don't think GL will end up with Dr Jamie but a future with Elvis isn't clear either - might be left up in the air at the end of the series?

I feel like I'm doing a public service. I think I can make out boobs.

Another one distracted by mk's lips. Bigger than most of her Kenyan captors! Why she had massive teeth installed and lips plumped I do not know. She is beautiful without them. I think this series is too far fetched. LP entering a terrorist compound by skidding along the wall and not being noticed by anyone. And don't get me started on them taking photos of the terrorists from 2 yards away.

kazzaD66 · 21/09/2016 23:33

Pix - when you said you had some luscious behind the scenes pics of BA, that's not quite what I had in mind.
I'm also in two minds about Ep 3 and S2 in general and will need to re-watch, if only to ogle CJ try to work out what is being said half the time.

Good question NVM - as previously said, was it actually him - it looked like him.

Perhaps he'd gone out to use the outside lav when the bombs dropped and seeing as they were so accurate he was spared.

Another long term lurker, but wanted to say I'm relieved to see I'm not the only one feeling a bit flat. I enjoyed ep2 more but now I'm back to feeling a bit indifferent. There wasn't even a mention of Molly this time... Whilst I don't dislike her, for me, GL just doesn't hold a candle to MD character with her charisma and vulnerability.

I'm not finding the banter amusing this time either, but I can still laugh out loud at lines like "a casualty of f* muppetry". Obviously, CJ still there so I'll keep watching but with the plot so far, he's so underused.

I'm very much in the camp of I'd love MD to reappear, but need to remind myself it's just a story, I guess.

Rhubarb01 · 21/09/2016 23:45

NVM well me being me with the blood tests I just wondered whether they might throw up something unexpected - GL is pregnant or something just to put a spanner in the works - she's been away six weeks or so??? It probably meant nothing at all apart from showing us that Dr Jamie is fussing and caring and being a doctor!

I'm wondering re Dr Jamie mentioning Elvis if Georgie finally comes clean re the never wedding, the family have mentioned it or it comes up when they ask about the rescue or just he fact that Dr Jamie may hear it from someone that GL was out in Kenya with - I know from next week's write up that he meets up with someone.

I haven't started my rewatch yet but probably will before I turn the light off tonight. I started without subtitles tonight but missed several things at the start that I just couldn't make out - I hate it when I don't understand what's being said.

As for character I pondered this yesterday and think it's just that MD and GL are in such different places. We've followed MD from being a mouthy, eighteen year old no-hoper to seeing her being a great success at something. We know her background, we root for her and pretty as she is, she looks like an ordinary, everyday sort of girl that we all might know. You just want her to succeed and to get the chap at the end and she does - win/win. With GL it's very different. She's already successful, nice family, nice boyfriend, nice looking and everyone comments on it - ok broken hearted thanks to Elvis being a twat and not coming clean straight away but she's not exactly between a rock and hard place with her potential choices. However, I think she's going to face other personal, emotional battles after everything that happened which is a different type of challenge. I like her but I think we all just really loved Molly.
