I wish Kym Marsh was properly leaving too - I feel they are taunting us with what could have been with all this cruise ship talk.

It's funny, Eileen realises that her hearing isn't as good as it was, thinks she is losing it but turns out to just need syringing. I was the complete opposite, I went to the Dr expecting to be told I need syringing but turned out to actually have hearing loss and am now being assessed for a cochlear implant

What were the rewrites with Ken & Kevin?

I quite liked the hearing story with Eileen - I like a bit of mundane that's not stupid to mix it up a bit.

Ken flew to Canada to look after Adam and did Kevin go to Germany to look after his Dad? I can't quite remember but as the actors were under investigation for alleged sex offences they couldn't continue in the show so had to be written out quickly. I'm sure there were storylines that were going to involve them that had to be changed.

As if the Caz storyline wasn't bad enough, now we have Eva pushing x-factor man on Maria and he is hiding "evidence" in his pockets.

Please let Aidan stay on the couch (solo) ... the thought of Caz witnessing any shenanigans turns my stomach.

Leanne has always walked like she has just got off a horse, with her legs bowed but lately she looks ridiculous, waddling along like she is about to give birth at any minute!

Exactly woodhill - of course any sane person would change the locks after a nasty piece of work was forced to vacate your flat. Also, surely Maria could run to a cheap Camera to record outside her flat.

Think it's strange that everyone is so liberal in the street that "sham marriages" for immigration purposes are invariably seen as a good thing to do rather than an illegal act. Why could Pablo's bloke not marry him ? It all seems so easy - my friend's husband is Mexican and she has been through so much ongoing paperwork and interviews to bring him here.

I wonder how far ahead the storylines are planned to work out. As far as I can fathom it, the sham marriage was just a ploy to enable Maria to be out of the flat for a couple of weeks so that Caz could steal her identity.

YY They have forgotten that men can marry each other now. Why were Maria and X factor talking so openly to Eva in the pub about the scissors?

I think the Phelan malarkey might be coming to an end soon, fingers crossed.

Where did that come from? It was so random and out of character for Luke, like the Steve and Leanne one night stand story.
Are the scriptwriters on drugs as everything is so random at the minute and not making sense?

It's probably a game. Two buckets....one has the names of all the female characters, the other has all the male characters. The scriptwriter for the week has to pick a name from each bucket, and write a storyline involving those two names.

Tracey shags anything with a pulse though, didn't she sleep with David and Nick in the same week once?

I'm beginning to think Phelan will have a change of heart, he's been looking at Eileen with increasing fondness lately (yuk) so he might start to feel guilty and Michael seemed to have hit a nerve with him last night.

Although Michael is such wet lettuce he makes me want to smack the tv.

i wonder if she'll come back to leave or they will just write her out, she hasnt had a decent story line for ages hope they give her a good send off she deserves it

I've missed the reasoning behind Caz's hatefest. Was it just because she was asked to leave the flat? And is Maria not with Luke any more? Do we know if Sharif would have had an affair anyway or was it an exit storyline? Agree that the deafness must have been a last minute filler. I can't imagine it was to make Phelan more affectionate. Ooh I can't wait for him to get the come uppance he deserves. I just despise him grrrrrrr!!!

I love this thread. I didn't know the Sharif actor had been sacked until I saw it here. I did wonder why the hasty conclusion to the affair though. I actually thought it made a change - no painfully dragging it out over weeks and weeks like usual

Yes, it did make a nice change to have a story tied up quickly!

I think there was meant to be more fallout (dragging on ) about the affair. ITV said they had to edit and delete scenes. However, Sharif actor says he was already leaving.

Find it strange the way certain characters are absent for ages (Sean, thankfully, Billy, where is Todd atm whilst Phelan is still around? etc) with no explanation. Whilst for others they make a big deal/come up with a ridiculous story to cover their absence (e.g. Carla always popping off to NYC) when there seems to be no need.

I quite miss the Sharif actor. I was quite enjoying that affair storyline -that OW actor is one of the better ones imho.

Good gosh it's terrible at the moment. Sick of caz. Sick of Maria. Why can't they get rid of Anna and faye? And leanne nick Michelle tracery Tyrone fizz.... its just daft at the moment and what a low the Eileen's ears story was! It's actually unwatchable these days.

I agree Powergower. It doesn' t feel like the "premier" soap - more like an even cheaper soap than Neighbours or Doctors. There is such a lack of imagination with the storylines and use of the actors.
I think Rana is quite good - they could have done more about her rich, older former boyfriends and her lifestyle choices compares to Zeedan's conservatism. Looks like she is just going to "sink" from being a glamourous go getter to a boring debt storyline with the permanently scowling Zeedan. There is just so much deadwood - how on earth has Maria managed to keep getting her contract renewed all these years? Does Kym Marsh have scandal on someone high up? Pantomime villain Tracey now with Luke? The dull pregnancies storylines etc and stories that are dropped - Tyrone/Fizz debt etc.

And all the near death scenes. In the kat free years Sophie has been b paralysed, as has sinead, hope has had cancer,anna was knocked over by cathy who was in a fire at her house, and Anna's hilarious trousers going up in flames! It's beyond ridiculous.

Luke is lovely but pairing him with tracey ffs. And don't get me started on bloody pat phelan.

I hope we are not tree only family who belly laughed our way through the David/fire/anna episodes. Him pretending to be dead, her cheap pants on fire, the whole street running fast, Michelle gurning/ crying on the stairs, Steve's comedy hug, David coming out of the car totally unscathed, lilly dead one minute then out abd chatting........
