Does the Horn of Joramund also call dragons, or am I misremembering?

NinjaSongbirdSays · 23/06/2016 20:36

Yes something like that !

DailyFailAteMyFish · 23/06/2016 20:44

Game of Thrones is based on French Medieval History

The Accursed Kings (BBC link in pp) is a fabulous series. Well worth reading.

TheNorthRemembers · 23/06/2016 22:27

There is a bit of confusion about the Horn of Joramun. That is meant to bring down the Wall, but people are not sure if it is the same thing as Euron's dragonbinding horn.
But in the show I think somehow Bran will cock things up and bring the Wall down unintentionally. On previous threads it was suggested that he may have been Bran the Builder himself, so it would be quite poignant for him and annoying for us.

CaitAgusMadra · 23/06/2016 23:29

Thanks Every My memory is not that good but mid re-read at the moment

I think it's in ASoS in the chapter where Lysa gets killed. She talks about her relationship with LF, admits killing Jon Arryn, her forced abortion etc before she tries to kill Sansa.

Trills · 23/06/2016 23:32

I've got a magic horn but I don't know what it does... Maybe it summons the Heroes of Ages.

Middleoftheroad · 23/06/2016 23:41

I thought I could hold my own Every but when I come on here I feel like DH "who's that?" "Didn't he die?" "Where's Filch gone and the guy from Braveheart?"
I would love to watch GoT with you guys, just once, to converse to discuss endless theories, rather than DH pointing out there is a giant in the battle. Ooh and whose house has a wolf sidil and did I know Sansa is in the new X-Men film. Grin

Trills · 23/06/2016 23:49

Filch! Was it really?

EverySongbirdSays · 23/06/2016 23:56

Awww, bless DH. AMATEUR. Grin

We should some of us try and get together and get Thronecast tickets for the same night. They show the audience the episode beforehand.

EverySongbirdSays · 23/06/2016 23:59

Yes Trills, Walder Frey is Filch

We also have Simon from Misfits, Nathan from Misfits Mum, The bloke from the Full Monty that worked in ASDA, Boromir, Lovejoy

OP posts:
Trills · 24/06/2016 00:18

Bloke from Full Monty and Boromir died ages ago though.

EverySongbirdSays · 24/06/2016 00:26

I know I was just listing people who are better known as other things Smile forgot Tommy Carcetti and his mad accent change skills.

I quite like doing the same thing in reverse.

Like young people watching Mrs Doubtfire, and the ex-wife's new boyfriend is James Bond! Except that was before he was Bond, he was just an actor who responded to a casting call for "handsome smug man".

fireandblood · 24/06/2016 01:09

Delurking! What an episode Grin so tense!

I love Sansa. She lost everything and has been tossed about, abused and broken down. She was ready to die until theon saved her and now in survival/pissed off mode.

Her reunion with Jon was genuine and emotional. I'm pretty sure she must have told Jon how she ended up married to Ramsay and that was little fingers doing and probs told him about everything else he did

After that she could hardly tell him when she went to meet him as she was ashamed or he would kill him but she wanted answers for herself or a chance to confront him. She told little finger to leave and refused his help and never wanted to see him again. I'm sure I remember she threatened him with Jon as well she said my brother will kill you and that's when he said half brother.

You could see her hating her self when she decided to send the letter to little finger and she prob knew Jon wouldn't let her if she told him but it was sheer desperation to beat Ramsay. Also when she was shouting at Jon to wait for more troops she wasn't sure he would turn up as she doesn't trust him now she was trying to buy extra time.

She hates little finger after what happened to her so will be interesting to see next weeks episode. I'm a big fan of her storyline and think she is gutsy now.

fireandblood · 24/06/2016 01:13

Sorry for the essay Blush I feel strongly about it

EverySongbirdSays · 24/06/2016 01:54

I'm completely in agreement with your assesment fireandblood - I hope she doesn't let me down with the faith I have in her on Monday.

ClashCityRocker · 24/06/2016 06:28

I'm withholding my judgement on Sansa and just about every other character

Yep, completely forgot about Hardhome and That Battle. That would explain it.

Is stannis dead in the books? I've just finished the last one and the letter from Ramsay Bolton says he is - he was certainly in dire straits last time we saw him, but I always thought he was still alive in the books.

It's amazing what you pick up on a reread though.

Trills · 24/06/2016 08:09

I think Stannis might be dead in the books but it's not confirmed.

SootSprite · 24/06/2016 08:33

I think LF and Sansa will end up married Sad

I just don't think Sansa will be able to walk away from the power and protection that the Knights of the vale will give her.

TheNorthRemembers · 24/06/2016 08:45

In the books Stannis strongly hints that he might fake his own death.

I hope you are all right about Sansa, it would so cheer me up. I still expect a shotgun wedding between Sansa and Littlefinger next week.

Trills · 24/06/2016 10:08

A shotgun wedding is generally when someone is pregnant and needs to pretend that the baby was not conceived out of wedlock...

Sansa's not exactly lacking in husbands

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 24/06/2016 10:16

She
Could be pregnant by Ramsay so a shotgun wedding to unBolton the baby

TheNorthRemembers · 24/06/2016 12:08

LadyStark That is what I thought. "Your name will be forgotten." That ain't happen if she is preggers with his baby.

OlennasWimple · 24/06/2016 12:12

About half the GoT cast is "thingummy from that show"

I watch it with IMDB open to look them up Blush
