Meera is the daughter of Howland reed - he was the one who killed see Arthur dayne at the tower of joy - and is currently with bran

GrimDamnFanjo · 22/06/2016 14:37

My thoughts on the endgame are that Dany takes the dragons over the wall to kill the white walkers and sacrifices herself. Not sure who will get the iron throne. Jamie will kill Cersai?

Badders123 · 22/06/2016 15:04

Yes to J killing C
Of course she has always believed it would be Tyrion - hence her hatred of him?
I think tyw hates him because of all his children Tyrion was the most like him - clever, well read, pragmatic - and he couldn't cope with that idea
I'm angling for a D and Y relationship now! Smile

TinklyLittleLaugh · 22/06/2016 15:09

I think Brienne will kill Jaime (maybe he will let her). Hopefully she will then say "Fuck this knights and honour horseshit" and ride off into the sunset with Tormund who seems decent and manly without any of the backstabbing game playing.

GrimDamnFanjo · 22/06/2016 15:26

Of course I'm also thinking that GRR is watching how all the TVs series is playing out. Perhaps he'll write a totally different version now? ;)

Trills · 22/06/2016 15:46

Bran is being protected by Uncle Benjen - he's a Stark, not a Mormont.

Ned's younger brother. Night's Watch. Took Jon to Castle Black, disappeared Beyond the Wall and not seen for a few years.

LinghamStyle · 22/06/2016 16:07

Just RTFT. I loved this episode!

I like the idea of Queens ruling Westeros. Reminds me of an earlier conversation between Dany and Missandei "All men must die" "But we are not men."

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/06/2016 17:00

Has the prophecy about the maiden savaging a giant in a castle made of snow come true in this episode, or will that be Littlefinger?

What prophecy - please can someone explain this one? I don't remember it at all. Is the castle made of snow Winterfell? I'd have thought it would be Castle Black.

Middleoftheroad · 22/06/2016 17:06

Couple of considerations for a finale. Only on book 2 so book readers, feel free to discount

Storm's end - made of all kinds of magic

The horn that Sam has to control the walkers

Baby Samwell - must have some significance

OlennasWimple · 22/06/2016 17:10

Including how come he's still a baby, when other child actors have gone through puberty in the same time frame Wink

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/06/2016 17:14

The boy knelt before the gatehouse. “Look, here comes a giant to knock it down.” He stood his doll in the snow and moved it jerkily. “Tromp tromp I’m a giant, I’m a giant,” he chanted. “Ho ho ho, open your gates or I’ll mash them and smash them.” Swinging the doll by the legs, he knocked the top off one gatehouse tower and then the other.

Look at this quote - the 'boy' in it is SweetRobin. Foreshadowing a-go-go! Robin then has a fit and collapses on top of the snow Winterfell, destroying it. But Sansa is horrified by the idea of a giant knocking down the doors of Winterfell...and rips off the giant (doll)'s head and mounts it on a stick at the gates. So perhaps Littlefinger does destroy Winterfell in some way (as he's now Lord Protector of the Vale), but I'm not sure Sansa will mount Wun Wun's head at the gates!

charmingtownrisingsun · 22/06/2016 17:18

OMFG that episode was epic!!. So glad Jon and Tormund survived my fav people in the North. Loved how Ramsay taunted Jon and Jon beating him to a pulp. I really hope the R+L=JON. Dany seems to be going slightly crazy hopefully Daario can sort her out. Tyrion clearly has an affinity for dragons so fascinated to see how he fits into it all. Arya needs to get back to Winterfell bump into the Hound Brienne and Pod so they can team up with Jon Tormund and Davos. Sansa will probably ride back to the Eeyrie with Little Finger.

Rowanhart · 22/06/2016 17:49

I'm talking about Meera Reed who is of House Mormont, isn't she??

Middleoftheroad · 22/06/2016 17:51

Nope. She and Jojen (rip) are Howland Reed's children.

Rowanhart · 22/06/2016 17:55

I'm going to have to hunt out their link to House Mormont. I'm sure there's one.
Mother or summit? Anyway thought was mentioned somewhere....

RJnomore1 · 22/06/2016 18:08

Maege mormont

Zampa · 22/06/2016 18:13

De-lurking to share this link on salaries fur season 8. If it's accurate it will tell you who makes it through ... It could ask be nonsense of course!

EverySongbirdSays · 22/06/2016 18:28

Meera's parents are Howland and Jyana Reed (unless she is Jon's secret twin)

Lyanna Mormonts parents are Maege Mormont and POTENTIALLY Tormund Giantsbane

I know of no ancestral Reed/Mormont link

If Lena Heady has signed for next series, it means no Valonquar yet, whether she'll accidentally kill her own son remains to be seen.

Too Many people think that was actually how the prophecy came true. This is the prophecy told by the old woman (probably a magi) at the BWB to Arya:

"I dreamt of a maid at a feast, with purple serpents in her hair, venom dripping from their fangs. And later I dreamt that maid again, slaying a savage giant in a castle built of snow."

RJnomore1 · 22/06/2016 18:41

It's all far too confusing.

Imagine what a field day Jeremy Kyle would have with them.

TheNorthRemembers · 22/06/2016 18:43

In the same prophecy the magi accurately foretold the death of Balon Greyjoy and described the Red Wedding in advance spot on. She could even tell that Arya smelled death (probably a reference to the House of Black and White).

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 22/06/2016 18:56

Guys, you need to watch this, you really do! I am in love with this cover and video (you can buy from iTunes too!)

CaitAgusMadra · 22/06/2016 19:07

Great video - wish it had subtitles as hadn't a clue what they were singing (think I might have heard Valar Morghulis a few times?)
