To protect from the arrows.

Schtumped · 20/06/2016 21:55

So...

Dany on the Iron Throne
Asha Yara on the Salt Throne
Sansa, Queen of the North

Any more? Margaery ruling the Reach? Arya the Riverlands? Wasn't there a princess down in Dorne, that they cut out the show? (My memory of that book is hazy.) 7 Queens of 7 Queendoms?

Admittedly, it doesn't take any account of Tyrion or Jon, nor "the dragon must have three heads" but...?

possibly grasping at straws Could it fit in to Cersai's prophecy? But not with just one younger, better looking Queen?

NeedACleverNN · 20/06/2016 21:56

No I think death by his own Hounds was perfect.

Right at the end be still believed he had all the controls that "his beasts" were loyal and he would never be beaten.

This could not have proven that any better

SausageSmuggler · 20/06/2016 21:58

I've just finished watching! I've only read the first few posts I'm afraid. I really enjoyed that episode - the battle reminded me of 300. The production value was better than some films!

I think Sansa is the product of her upbringing so she's protecting her own interests after having decisions taken away from her for so long.

Yay Ramsey is gone!

Equiem89 · 20/06/2016 22:02

Perfect ending for Ramsay. He's got flayed and his dogs turned on him

OlennasWimple · 20/06/2016 22:04

I reckon poor Rickon did well to run at all, having escaped being murdered, traipsed across the country on the run, then been held prisoner for so long.

allthemoomins · 20/06/2016 22:07

Was Ramsey flayed? I thought he was just covered in blood from Jon remodelling his face. He was pretty calm for someone who was freshly peeled!

Equiem89 · 20/06/2016 22:10

I assume he was as they focused on his hands and they were very red/bloody but that could have been from the beating and the dogs going for his face

boldlygoingsomewhere · 20/06/2016 22:11

Wow! What a great episode! Loved it all - so glad to see Ramsay beaten. Wanted to punch the air when the Stark banner was hung back on Winterfell.

SerafinaScoresby · 20/06/2016 22:13

Fan-girling JUST A BIT about Dany and Yara!!! Love love love it!!! Grin

Rowanhart · 20/06/2016 22:22

Sansa is becoming Lady Stoneheart?

To be honest she was a little unpleasant cow as a child, and and now is one bad biatch.

Playduh · 20/06/2016 22:25

Lurker unlurking purely to say I've just finished watching and...

ShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShock

Watched it on the sly whilst DH watched the footy. Glad I've got an excuse to rewatch it.

Bloody hell!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/06/2016 22:25

DH and I were yelling ZIGZAG too! Pretty fucking obvious, really.

Anyway. Happy happy! I really loved the Meereen bits with Yara and Dany. Especially when Yara says Euron's ships will come with his big cock.

I didn't think Sansa was being deliberately smirky and cold either. But I do wonder if she's pregnant.

Predictions: Davos kills Melisandre - or Jon executes her formally, with his own sword, bravely, wondering whether he's going to drop dead when she does.

The Cersei wildfyre thing.

The ships set sail and the dragons spread their wings for Westeros.

The Wall falls.

TheNorthRemembers · 20/06/2016 22:27

Loved Dany and Yara. I still do not like Dany in general, but the scene with the 4 children of shitty fathers was amazing.

Now Dany knows why Jaime killed Aerys. It was always thought that Tyrion will save Jaime from Dany and I think that has just happened.

I will never forgive Sansa for sacrificing her own people and supporters (her kith and kin) for her own political ends. Again. How many times are we supposed to make allowances for her, because she is young, scared or cannot foresee the consequences of her actions?! She is simply selfish, and does not care about anybody else, but herself. She could have piped up at any time in the war council. They would have listened to her. Tormund showed ignorance, and no one laughed.

However I thoroughly enjoyed Sansa's revenge on Ramsay. Not sure if she has Ramsay's baby, but she certainly has had Ramsay's personality by the end. Like how Arya wears a face, Sansa started to wear Ramsay's. Proper Lady Bolton. When Ramsay said "She is a fine woman." he totally fancied her. RIP Ramsay Bolton. I wonder how you die in the books.

I agree that Jon was kept alive by a higher power.

If I was the Red Woman, I'd head for the hills now.

Yay for Tormund killing Lord Percy Umber.

If I was

NeedACleverNN · 20/06/2016 22:28

I have pm'd you every

TheNorthRemembers · 20/06/2016 22:35

If they bury Rickon in the crypt, they might find whatever is hidden in Lyanna's tomb. Or see Bran, or the old Starks (their swords were taken, so they might come back to life).
Also Rickon had prophetic dreams, too, not just Bran. He knew Ned died before they got the messages by the ravens, so Bran might message the remaining Starks somehow, as his little soulmate brother died.
Or maybe the crypts in Winterfell are connected to the tunnels under the Wall.

PonyoLovesHam · 20/06/2016 22:40

Also unlurking to say I thought this episode was brilliant!

And Jon snow was not wet, he was a bloody faced badass in this episode in contrast to cowardly Bolton running away Angry

The suffocating scene was so tense after the battle, tense stuff.

Is lyanna (?) of bear island dead?

kungfupannda · 20/06/2016 22:42

Just checking to say...
...holy fuck!

EverySongbirdSays · 20/06/2016 22:42

I have replied NN

They've just made an excellent point on Thronecast.

In a previous series Littlefinger promised Cersei Sansa's head on a spike in exchange for being named Warden Of The North and said he would not rest until he had the lion flying over Winterfell

TheNorthRemembers · 20/06/2016 22:43

You are right. Jaime in the trailer for next week looks very out of character. But I guess it is Red Wedding 2 between a Frey and a Lannister, and Jaime is involved somehow. Although he did not look stressed enough to be under the instructions of the BWB, like probably in the book. As long as real Jaime survives, I really do not mind.

TheNorthRemembers · 20/06/2016 22:45

Sorry Ponyo, I should have made it clear that I meant Lyanna Stark's crypt.

NeedACleverNN · 20/06/2016 22:45

In a previous series Littlefinger promised Cersei Sansa's head on a spike in exchange for being named Warden Of The North and said he would not rest until he had the lion flying over Winterfell

So at the end of all of it, he is still on the lannisters side?!

EverySongbirdSays · 20/06/2016 22:45

The interesting point with Jon/Sansa is that Jon STILL thinks that the world is run by the rules his father held dear. Sansa is not innocent and knows that Ned's honour is in fact the exception and Littlefinger's deceit is the rule

OP posts:
TheNorthRemembers · 20/06/2016 22:47

Need Nobody knows. But in the books Littlefinger is messing about asking for a tapestry from Cersei in the middle of the War of the 5 kings, and a lot of people see that as a sign of friendship. I mean LF arranged the killing of the apple of Cersei's eye, so I would be very careful.

Rowanhart · 20/06/2016 22:47

Have you seen next week's trailer? Who was the person walking through the door at the end. Only see back of head?

And who was man crying while the High Sparrow touches his face?

If she turns down Littlefinger he's going to take Winterfell, isn't he...?
