Anyone watching it? What do you think? Just about to watch episode four on BBC 4 and I'm really enjoying it.

OP posts:

Where's the proper Montalbano, though? I like the proper one!

Vagndidit · 20/06/2016 22:32

A satisfactory ending, I thought. Poor misguided Chris raging in her jealousy over her cousin. I have to say, Lea's death did not move me as much as that of other characters in crime dramas cough Nanna Birk Larsen cough

Lea seemed to be a bit of a nasty piece of work. Not that she deserved to be murdered...

2rebecca · 20/06/2016 23:07

Lea and Chris never seemed real characters to me. They were too much caricatures of wayward teenagers. Lea's behaviour was unusual for someone from a fairly stable background and Chris was quite psychopathic in her detachment.
The characters seemed too either have far too much angst and intensity or none at all.

2rebecca · 20/06/2016 23:08

I like it having a proper ending though.

Tanith · 21/06/2016 07:21

A lot of Léa's character was supplied by Chris, though, and she was evidently trying to take Léa's place before she murdered her.

We only got Chris's version of events in the park, no one else saw what happened.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 21/06/2016 07:35

I think that Lea's background wasn't entirely stable - her dad had had an affair; her aunt had died; Chris was treated like a surrogate daughter. I think all of that could have made Lea selfish, needy and competitive (on top of usual teen angst!).

Nittyb · 21/06/2016 17:57

Did they ever explain where Lea got the money from ? Or did I miss that ?!

Millipedewithherfeetup · 21/06/2016 18:13

Think it was the drug dealing, but not properly explained nitty.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 21/06/2016 18:45

She bought drugs from Jenny the prostitute to sell to her mates.

MrsDoylesTeaParty · 21/06/2016 19:29

If anyone likes the song at the end, it's called 'Sirens call- cats on trees'. It's beautiful!

misslemonsfilingcabinet · 21/06/2016 19:36

Any explanation about the photos Chris took of Lea changing and gave to the dodgy uncle? Or did I imagine that? Good series though

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 21/06/2016 19:43

I think that was just a red herring.

BringMeTea · 21/06/2016 20:37

Just watched the last 2 episodes. I LOVED this series. Missing it already. Agree another series definitely in order with the lead cops, I thought they worked very well together. Grin at the idea that lady cop is supposed to be a fatty in Franceland.

Thethingswedoforlove · 22/06/2016 18:59

Is locked up available on I player?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 23/06/2016 12:59

Brilliant, just watched the end. Felt like a proper ending as well, and sad. Glad to know I'm not the only one who likes Molina Blush

drigon · 24/06/2016 15:00

Just binged on this after it was recommended to me - loved it! The family were so wonderful and so human - loved the Mum, Dad and little girl. I was brought to tears several times which is unusual for me.The detectives too were also excellent characters. I was suspicious of the uncle and the brother (wrench in his bag), but was obviously way off on the latter. Didn't suspect Chris at all. Great stuff!

JustDanceAddict · 25/06/2016 15:36

Just watched the last one - I was right. Touch of SWF about it all.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 25/06/2016 23:17

thethings locked up is on Channel 4. I just started watching it tonight.

Thethingswedoforlove · 27/06/2016 17:34

Wd you recommend it aplace?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 27/06/2016 18:41

There's something wrong with my telly- can't find Locked Up at all Sad

APlaceOnTheCouch · 27/06/2016 21:34

thethings I am enjoying it. It's quite different from The Disappearance but the main actor is superb. I'm not watching multi episodes in a row as I am finding it quite intense but I am intrigued to see where it goes.

Thethingswedoforlove · 28/06/2016 22:59

Next on my list then thanks aplace!!

Gwenhwyfar · 04/07/2016 22:25

"I didn't realise it was a french show until it started and almost flicked off. "

?? Confused

Gwenhwyfar · 04/07/2016 22:35

"Bloody creepy at the end when Chris said ' Mum, Chris hurt me!' "

Yes, that freaked me out. Especially as I had told someone to watch it and that there was nothing paranormal like in The Returned.

Jaynebxl · 05/07/2016 09:12

I didn't see that as anything paranormal though. I thought it showed Chris' mental state that she really believed she was Lea.
