Anyone watching it? What do you think? Just about to watch episode four on BBC 4 and I'm really enjoying it.

OP posts:
RoosterCogburn · 19/06/2016 15:52

It was great - reminded me of The Killing where so many characters had a secret or had done something wrong, but not related to the actual crime.

The scene where Chris visited Jean in prison and you suddenly realised he was taking the rap for Lea's murder was brilliant.
And Flo's anguish outside the hospital - sent shivers down my spine.

Tanith · 19/06/2016 16:05

Thought it was fantastic! The little girl playing Zoë is so good - she does remind me of my DD, though Smile

APlaceOnTheCouch · 19/06/2016 16:08

Yy Zoe was fab. I also liked that the house was a mess after her birthday party Grin It made me realise how often dramas have show home settings regardless of what is supposed to be going on in the characters' lives.

Orangetoffee · 19/06/2016 16:11

The ending was done beautifully, them getting on with their lives as normal and the little powerful reminders of what they have lost.
Hope they will make a second series.

CremeEggThief · 19/06/2016 16:18

Orange, do you mean another case for Molina and Co to solve? I think that could work well.

MrsDoylesTeaParty · 19/06/2016 16:42

Did anyone notice the policewoman constantly eating and people making a point of noticing? What was that about.. Had she just given up smoking maybe?

Elvesandthepoomaker · 19/06/2016 16:53

I was wondering that - was she supposed to be hugely overweight by French standards? It all seemed a bit slapstick.

Elvesandthepoomaker · 19/06/2016 17:03

Ok, so back to the earring. The police said "Hey, we're missing that earring which proves you're a cheating wench. Would we be able to get a photo of the other one as it may be crucial to finding the murderer?" Chris says "Sure thing." And then has both earrings knocking around her room because they are really nice earrings...?

timelytess · 19/06/2016 17:07

Molina's daughter Rose also ate heartily and was not skinny. Perhaps they're campaigning for healthier body image.

Allofaflumble · 19/06/2016 17:14

The police woman was gorgeous. I thought it was very humorous all the scenes where she was eating, especially taking a sweet at the hotel. She had a lovely figure.

Flo was how you imagine French woman to be, slim and effortlessly chic, but they must come in all shapes and sizes like us.

I loved this series. If something doesn't have subtitles I'm not interested these days! There are some foreign dramas coming up on All4 next week.

Orangetoffee · 19/06/2016 17:21

CremeEggThief, yes another case for Molina and Co.
I would also like another case for the Icelandic Andri and co in Trapped.

Elvesandthepoomaker · 19/06/2016 17:24

At one point Sophie and Flo had lunch together and I swear they just had a plateful of broccoli each. I know it's hard to shop when there's a crisis in the family but still...

CremeEggThief · 19/06/2016 17:55

Me too to both, Orange😊

MrsDoylesTeaParty · 19/06/2016 18:20

I agree, she was beautiful and much slimmer than I have been at my slimmest Grin There must be even more pressure over there than there is here.

Thankyouforthemusic · 19/06/2016 18:56

Orangetoffee yes to another Andri-fest I fancied him too.

cookielove · 19/06/2016 19:03

I just caught up, I really enjoyed it Smile

Well acted and enjoyed Molina Grin

Optimist1 · 19/06/2016 20:27

Just caught up - very satisfactory. I didn't cotton on to the uncle being innocent until in his police interview he said that he pushed Lea and she fell onto the brick - the post mortem report said there were two blows to the head. (So although I don't think I'm ready to be a fully fledged French detective, perhaps Molina could recruit me as a trainee and give me some tuition Wink ?)

Rattitude · 19/06/2016 20:48

May I suggest Locked Up, a fantastic Spanish series for anybody who is a bit forlorn, now that The Disappearance has ended...?

All 16 episodes are immediately available. I think it is my favourite series EVER.

MrsDoylesTeaParty · 19/06/2016 21:22

Thanks Rattitude I'll check it out! Definitely got a taste for the whodunnits Wink I've seen The Missing and Broadchurch and now started 'The Killing' which is slow going but good.

elvislives2012 · 19/06/2016 21:30

Bloody brilliant! All caught up, I was half right with the uncle and now I'm telling my DH I should be a cop

Momamum · 19/06/2016 21:31

Thanks Rattitude I'll definitely check that out, but not before I've watched this one again! Wonderful acting all round, so love that little girl Smile

APlaceOnTheCouch · 19/06/2016 21:39

Rattitude thanks for the reminder. I loved the trailer for Locked Up and then completely forgot to watch it.

GypsyFl0ss · 19/06/2016 21:41

Channel 4's Walter Presents selection of foreign dramas is very good if you fancy more subtitled stuff. DD recommends Kabul Kitchen which is more humourous I think but there's loads of Scandi noir stuff plus Deutschland 83 which was recently on and collectively watched and enjoyed on here.

Diamondsandpurls · 19/06/2016 22:04

Dicte - crime reporter is very good, only on second episode but am enjoying it

CremeEggThief · 19/06/2016 22:12

I would like to pay tribute to BBC 4, for spoiling us with excellent foreign crime/noir dramas in the 9 p.m. Saturday night slot all of this year. "Young Montalbano" (ok, full of clichés and a bit cheesy, but great fun and beautiful people and scenery to look at!), "Trapped", "Follow the Money" and "The Disappearance". I for one would have been lost without you!
