Just saw a lovely trailer, it starts on 26th May. Can't wait

I also think Ghislane is in trouble.

SoupDragon · 23/05/2016 21:50

Ghislanes cape looks very very short

dillite · 23/05/2016 21:51

Here's the cape that I made. I ended up donating it to my local charity shop. I enjoyed making it though.

That pink cape is nice.

HalsallRedux · 23/05/2016 21:52

That's lovely, dilite

SoupDragon · 23/05/2016 21:53

Nice cape, Dillite :)

dillite · 23/05/2016 21:53

I hate applique.

Gislaine is totally going tonight. She seems to have lost half of her cape.

HalsallRedux · 23/05/2016 21:54

Sorry, Dillite, I keep missing an 'l' out of your name......

dillite · 23/05/2016 21:54

Tracey's binding was terrible! And that green thread on top of the pink wool.

Thank you!

Coldtoeswarmheart · 23/05/2016 21:55

Jade's is fab.

SoupDragon · 23/05/2016 21:55

Yes, Ghislane will be going home this week.

dillite · 23/05/2016 21:56

Angeline's one is beautiful.

dillite · 23/05/2016 21:58

Well, there were no surprises there.

Coldtoeswarmheart · 23/05/2016 22:01

Poor Ghislaine, I liked her Sad

SoupDragon · 24/05/2016 07:06

I did too but she had a total disaster this week. I wonder why it all went wrong for her?

Haggisfish · 24/05/2016 08:08

I think it was the winging it with no pattern that did for her! Others that made their own pattern drew it out first.

BurningGubbins · 24/05/2016 09:23

It was definitely the right decision re: Ghislaine. She made a few bad choices this episode that she couldn't pull back.

I made a hooded cape out of fleece (v forgiving!) a few years ago, it was good fun.

I liked the babygrow pattern and thought maybe I'd found a use for my dinosaur jersey, but there were a few techniques that I'm not great at. I might go for pajama bottoms instead.

TellMeDani · 24/05/2016 10:17

Poor Ghislaine, I thought she was lovely...she did have a bad week though.

They are in different studios and a new judge, the contestants don't seem as relaxed this series, I wonder if they are all feeling their nerves a bit more than last time because it used to be so relaxed. They don't look like they have quite as much space either?

I quite liked the little cloth pattern weights that a couple of them were using, I', not sure what you'd fill them with? Much better than using random items from the kitchen.

SoupDragon · 24/05/2016 10:25

I like those weights too. I imagine you can fill them with rice.

dillite · 24/05/2016 11:32

Sometimes you just have one of those days when it feels as if the universe is against you- no matter how much and how often you have done something, whatever you do, it will go wrong. The best thing to do is to stop and not do anything on those days. Unfortunately you can't do that in a competition.

lavenderdoilly · 24/05/2016 11:33

Rice sounds like a good idea. We've noticed the weights too. Anyone have a pattern for them - could probably work a quick one out meself but if anyone can point me to one I'd be much obliged.
Dd spent the rush before school cutting up some old vest tops of mine to make a skirt. Sewing bee on in the background. I imagine it'll stay a work in progress for ages but it was fun (and nerve jangling).

SapphireStrange · 24/05/2016 11:41

I love the Bee.

Duncan was quite hot and quite talented IMO, and I was annoyed he got sent home. Tracey is slapdash and dresses like Grayson Perry on a bad day.

I LOVE Ghislaine. I love her voice, her accent, her style, her attitude. She just had a bad week. I think she should have been given a reprieve. I'll miss her.

I don't like the guy who made the creepy 'little gentleman' tweedy cape. He's ultra-competitive. His face was a picture when he didn't win Garment of the Week.

I'm glad it's not just me who thinks Patrick has lost his mojo a bit. He looks puffy and ill-shaven.

SoupDragon · 24/05/2016 11:44

The weights are just pyramids aren't they? You could make them from 3 identical equilateral triangles.

lavenderdoilly · 24/05/2016 11:59

Yep. Equilateral triangles are a good idea. I saw on pinterest some ideas for making crocheted ones filled with coins. However, the idea of setting my dd a challenge (aka asking her to do it) does appeal.

Haggisfish · 24/05/2016 12:45
