Just saw a lovely trailer, it starts on 26th May. Can't wait

I thought it should be Tracey to go home, the lace zip combo was awful her skirt was skewed at the bottom

Also she was a bit too smug IMHO at the beginning

Diamogs · 16/05/2016 22:04

Yes why no May? I missed the first few mins.

dillite · 16/05/2016 22:05

Oh that's sad about Lorna. She came across as a very kind person.

Oldraver · 16/05/2016 22:06

I like on Sewing Bee how everyone is so nice and supportive to each other..they all still want to win but are gracious with it

I hate those type of shows were contestants bitch to the camera about others

I think I have random dinosaur fabric somewhere Grin

OH like me, was in the sewing industry and while he wont sit down and watch it he will wander in and make comment...usually about how they are using the machines

judgelionelnutmeg · 16/05/2016 22:11

Loved that dress that the youngest contestant made at the end. But yes some of those skirts were shocking in the alteration challenge.

Very sad news about Lorna.

SoupDragon · 16/05/2016 22:13

Oh I missed the bit about Lorna. How sad. :(

Florabella22 · 16/05/2016 22:20

I was also saddened to see the tribute to Lorna, she was such a memorable contestant. I thought she was an elegant and classy lady, very talented too. Very sad.

MILLYmo0se · 16/05/2016 22:23

Aw,I loved Lorna :(

ssmile · 16/05/2016 22:27

Was very Sad seeing the dedication to Lorna, made me want to give my mum a great sew er a hug.

Coldtoeswarmheart · 16/05/2016 22:41

What happened to May?

DH says Esme reminds him of Edna Mole from the Incredibles. This is no good, he'll go on about it everytime she's on screen.

RTKangaMummy · 16/05/2016 22:51

I think I read somewhere that Esme designed the Bridget Jones bunny costume Smile

I quite liked the things she said tonight

BestIsWest · 17/05/2016 05:42

I liked May but Esme is clearly a 'character'.
Very sad about Lorna, such an elegant lovely woman.

SoupDragon · 17/05/2016 07:04

May's comments here are suitably vague so I wonder if there was a disagreement.

SoupDragon · 17/05/2016 07:05

Esme reminds him of Edna Mole from the Incredibles

And sadly, I think he is right! I knew she made me think of someone but I had no idea who.

ElspethFlashman · 17/05/2016 08:45

What is it with the slippers? I counted two if not three pairs! Perhaps the acoustics in that place are very bad and they were asked to wear soft shoes to stop clattering?

Patricks scruffiness has deeply disappointed me.

I think Tracey is quite droll but her confidence level definitely doesn't match the level of her work. And at the end I think she was starting to realise it. Hopefully she'll step up her game now.

SoupDragon · 17/05/2016 09:08

I think it's a shame anyone has to go home othe first week. I would like to see the first week as a settling in round where they learn what is expected of them.

Haggisfish · 17/05/2016 09:21

Yes I agree. Maybe slippers allow them to feel their pedal more? I like sewing in soft soles for that reason.

SoupDragon · 17/05/2016 10:01

I often sew in bare feet. That wouldn't make attractive television :)

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 17/05/2016 10:10

i simply cannot sew in shoes or slippers..., in fact I often take my sock off

I did laugh at Ghislane (was it??) sitting in her undies in the "how I sew at home" bit :o

and Edna Mode is just spot on for Esme.

I was also peeved that the lacy makeover was so harshly marked... yes it was shit, but she had restyled, reshaped and added stuff. The skirt people just cut and gathered onto a waistband in most cases. And the one with the elastic waist and criss cross back....no work at all!

I also thought Irish girls peplum skirt was gaping across the hips at the front, admittedly fabulous in the arse, but that the corset waisted tutu layered skirt should have been garment of the week.

TellMeDani · 17/05/2016 10:54

I often sew in underwear and/or with one shoe off, an attractive look and rather tricky if anyone comes to the door during sewing.

I think Edna Esme gives a harsher critique that Mary, Patrick was definitely defending a few pieces of work on last nights show.

SoupDragon · 17/05/2016 11:04

The lacy make over was very poorly executed wasn't it?

I think Patrick has moved into the Good Cop role. Wasn't he always pickier than May?

Iwantacampervan · 17/05/2016 11:31

I thought that Patrick seemed more relaxed last night.

Davros · 17/05/2016 21:53

I watched it today and enjoyed it muchly. There were some terrible items in the remodelling round. I realised that I know Charlotte a little, her DD was at primary school with my DD (both now 13). We chit chatted at netball matches now and then and she seemed very nice. I hope she does well

Agree Soup, that's a very carefully worded press release, isn't it?

Davros · 17/05/2016 23:20

Just realised I put 26th may on the OP! Blush And yes, this is the correct thread cos I started it!!
