What was that about Jackie's parents coming into the house?? What were they like?

Kezza it was Cleo, do you remember a couple of nights ago when Cleo said people get really hung up about having to nominate and she said wioll you all do me a favour and vote me out and Carol said and you all vote me out too cause I can handle it and Shilpa said fuck all cause she wants to win.

I agree with whoever said ignorance is not an excuse for rascist behaviour, calling Shilpa 'the Indian' is not only rascist but highly disrespectful, my three year old has more respect for other people.
If ignorance is a valid excuse for such disgusting behaviour then frankly society is f*cked!

please do, flutterbee. what you say does not run contrary to the betting behaviour.

there are more young white females in this country than young black females as well, so one might reasonably expect them to identify more with white contestants, and in particular to vote for male contestants because they fancy them. that's why simon blonded leona's hair and banged on constantly about how a girl had never won before, to encourage anyone with a passing interest in her to vote.

also, were it not for the regional white male vote how can you explain that creepy little twerp Ray?

it's a numbers game, gambling. all you're looking for is that the bookies have priced the odds wrongly and then you have a competitive edge. however, bookies price up taking this black female contestant thing into consideration, so someone like leona may (i don't know, i wasn't following her odds) have made someone a lot of money if they had a bet on her at the beginning.

I didn't actually watch it so my knowledge of the particular contestants is not very good.

I was also in a relationship with a gambling addict so my view on all gamblers is that they are tossers I'm afraid, my sensible self knows that they are not all tossers but I certainly will never ever get involved with one again.

quadrophenia, one of the favourites or the favourite? if you have a big cash sum then a couple of points either way can make you a lot. my DH has a friend who bets professionally on reality shows, he moves quickly to buy early bets and then 'lays' them off (kinda like selling the bet on) when he feels the bet is weakening but before anyone else does.
if your stakes are big enough, the bookies only have to make a small error in judgment for you to make good money. i'd agree with flutterbee, small-time grand national gamblers are lining the bookies' pockets but people with the money to do it are really just day trading on an alternative stock market.

ooh, that took ages for me to read the thread since my own post ages ago!!!

OK, folks. I only saw a bit of last night's AGAIN! So annoying. Anyway. What was wrong with Jackiey's back???? V. interested to read the 'Shilpa - angel or demon?' debate. I do think she's manipulative. When she asked to speak to Jackiey (a couple of days ago) and she took her into the bedroom, I would be so pissed off if that was me. It was like she wound Jackie up and then walked off smiling (my boys do that to each other all the time). Also, Jackie only asked for the heating to be turned down a bit in the bedroom and I think she was really badly treated then - Ken was appalling, and as for Shilpa putting her cardie on (I would have kicked her head) then going up to Ken's bed and putting a thin housecoat thing on - as if that would heat him up. Totally to make a point, and quite a nastly one at that. Then to sit and bitch to Ken and Jermaine. All I'm saying is that I don't think she's all sweetness and light and I think she'll be one of those types who never gets nominated as the housemates like her, but the public don't and are itching to vote her out.

It reminds me of the second ever BB, and there was a woman (Elizabeth I think, she had a much older boyfriend who sold naked pictures of her to the papers while she was in the house) who was such a bitch, bitched all the time about people and the public hated her, but she was never nominated because the other housemates didn't see that side of her.

Anyway, I didn't particularly like Jackie. BUT she comes from a whole other world from me, obviously had a hard life, whether of her own making or not. Calling Shilpa 'the Indian' (although I did pmsl) is unacceptable - although it does go to show the result of little or no education in our society!

What happened to that indie band blond boy did he walk? I only watched it properly for the first time last night.

1] Jade's adorable, just so childlike but good hearted and I felt for her with her love/shame ambivalence about her mother
2] Jade's boyfriend - waste of space? seems beyond dull
3] Jermaine - Dull
4] Blond journo - at least seems clever
5] Leo - creepy
6] Shilpa - very interesting - nothing like a princess
7] A team bloke - seems good value and likeable
9] Jackiey - shouldn't have put her in IMO - that is too cruel just to set someone up to be ridiculed for being entirely uncultured/uneducated, cruel.
10] who to win? Jade?
are they going to bring anyone else in? They need a really attractive man in there for once! Eye candy for me!

yes, I felt for Jade when she was crying in the diary room about her mum.. She was basically really embarrassed by her, but kept saying 'but she's my mum'. Saw a different side to Jade.

But, tbh, Jackie's whole crude behaviour isn't so different to when Jade was in BB and stripped off showing all her bits.

Now she's a zillionaire. Amazing.

Blonde rock star guy walked out when he was told he had to serve the Goodys!!! Also, did anyone read that he'd slept with Leo Sayer's wife about 4 years ago? Can this be true?????

When jade was in the BB house, she was only young. She now has 2 kids, has run her own business etc. She has done a lot of growing up, her mum on the other hand is already a grown up. I like Jade, she might be a bit un-cultured, but she must have some brains.

no they didn't Carol thought they were doing it by surname when she wasn't called
