Good point ElderlyKoreanLady

My favourite moment of the season was when the Wolves attacked Alexandria, that was fab.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 06/04/2016 14:18

Tell you what though, i dont know why they didnt just agree at the first road block, on the condition that they had to take maggie to hilltop asap, then go back on the agreement after... Grin

Ooo I like this analysis elderlykoreanlady

I may have to go and rewatch, I've been toying with rewatching from S1 same with game of thrones...

And yes beyond from the first road block I was shouting it's a trap it's a trap it's going to get worse!!!

MagicalMrsMistoffelees · 06/04/2016 14:25

I agree with whoever said it was unbearably tense TV. I was shaking because the tension was just so relentless and I knew it wasn't going to end well. What a horrible world they live in and what awful stuff they have to go through and do in order to survive.

How can Rick be criticised for snivelling in the face of Negan and his huge army? These are his people and they are totally screwed. There is no way out this time; no last minute reprieve.

I like Abe. I can't believe people think he deserves to get whacked because of how he 'treated' Rosita. He finished with her before starting anything with Sasha, not that they really have started anything yet. Even in the apocalypse you're allowed to finish a relationship if you're no longer happy and move on.

Full credit to the cast for acting their socks off. TWD is the one show on TV where I get totally absorbed in the story and believe it's actually happening. That's why it leaves me a nervous wreck!

buttermilkpie · 06/04/2016 14:30

Agree that the acting was fantastic, I read an interview with Jeffery Dean Morgan who plays Negan and he said that it was filmed over 2 nights and a couple of the cast didn't make eye contact with him until the end of the second night.

NoTeaForMe · 06/04/2016 14:39

I've changed my mind a lot over who I think it will be...every theory I read I find myself agreeing with!

I think the whole thing was done so well, acted brilliantly. I'm not keen on such a massive cliffhanger but it does have us all talking about it and I can see that that's the end of that story and the aftermath is the beginning of the next story. It kind of makes sense.
Is if true or not that Negan won't kill women, children or sick/injured people then? Did Dwight shoot Daryl to save his life then?

StealthPolarBear · 06/04/2016 14:51

I always make sure the front door is locked before watching it :o
Yes I can't imagine working with 'negan' in real life. Imagine making him a cup of tea!

GetAHaircutCarl · 06/04/2016 14:56

The world building in TWD is utterly brilliant and had been from the get go.

Ditto the characterisation. Lucky actors to be given such fabulously woven characters.

Thats one reason why I don't think the production team needed to employ a cliffhanger gimmick. the quality is there to time in again in Octobet.

stealth I watch behind a cushion a bit like i did as a child whilst watching doctor who :)

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 06/04/2016 15:17

Agree with all of these posts! Grin

Rick slowly breaking down was so believable. He honestly looked like a deer in headlights at the end. Plus bonus points to coral for his seething anger (very convincing future serial killer!)

And yes, it didnt need the cliffhanger. The death of an important character and where they go from there IS a cliffhanger already. And after all that build up, just, well, urgh!!!
I like the comparison to (apologies 😄) 90 mins masturbation but not being allowed to finish.

dixie I agree.

This season has had some flack from the critics but there has been some stand out stuff.

The wolves invasion, the push back of the walkers in Alexandria, the Morgan and Eastman flashbacks, the attack on the Saviours compound, particular the episode where Carol and Maggie are taken prisoner.

All excellent, meaningful stuff with plenty of excitement/tension arising out of the situation and the characters rather than writing stunts.

I think Maggie will be feeling the guiltiest?

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 06/04/2016 17:27

However, i cant help but think that if i was an ob-gyn in the apocalypse, and there was like, one pregnant woman in the entire world, i would have gone back with her to where she lived so i could be on call... Grin

MotheringShites · 06/04/2016 22:48

Gross idea but perhaps Maggie's baby has died, turned and is eating her from the inside.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 06/04/2016 23:03

Isn't it too young to have teeth?

Unless it's mouthing her to death? Hmm

ElderlyKoreanLady · 06/04/2016 23:03

I always love going back to season 1...the sound track is fantastic. Definitely an area where the show has declined.

Still frustrated with the finale. Fantastic acting, piss poor story telling.

ElderlyKoreanLady · 06/04/2016 23:08

Yeah, not buying into the baby turning and biting her from the inside theory. Lack of teeth being the main reason. If she dies, it's because pregnancy complications, not zombie foetus.

Besides, how exactly would they make that kind of reason obvious to the audience? I know they don't shy away from gore but they'll never show Maggie being opened up post mortem to reveal that as the cause.

ElderlyKoreanLady · 06/04/2016 23:28

That happened in the Dawn of the Dead remake (and maybe the original...I haven't seen it sober!) But the woman was bitten. The bite she got killed both her and the baby.
