Corrie thread - How many more implausible plots until the new person takes over? NO SPOILERS PLEASE

Have started a new thread as the old one was nearly full and people wanted a "No spoilers" message in the title.

Are we placing too much hope in the new producer? How the hell are they going to get out of the plot holes?

I read the other day that the Les Battersby actor was seen at the studios. I am hoping that was a bad-taste April Fool's joke.

Where does Gail work or has she retired? Audrey must be pushing 80plus she should give it a rest.

Gail used to work in the medical centre and then as a cleaner in nick's bistro. Not sure what she does now though.

Gail used to clean in the gym as well, after a short career as a receptionist there. She got sidelined when Alya turned up, as far as I remember.

Haven't watched this week but just wondering if they are making Nick look unwell and so on as a prelude to him not leaving / the wedding not going ahead?

No idea how, but I'm presuming that it is only Carla who is leaving.

The Maria storyline is pathetic.
It's so unbelievable especially with her line ' I didn't think it was worth mentioning' when Luke asked why she hadn't told him as if it's not a big deal and he is being unreasonable.
Is Maria really that thick that she can't understand why Luke is upset?

Also Fiz stop being such a miserable bastard when ever Tyrone tries to do something to help their situation.

Does anyone else think there is a story coming up with Chesney and Gemma?
I think Gemma will try and cause tension between Chesney and Sinead.

Gemma could run naked down Rosamund Street with just kebab meat covering her modesty and I'd still not be remotely interested in what was happening.

Yes, from the moment she chased off the thugs in the kebab shop it was pretty obvious where it was heading. Corrie doesnt do subtle.

I think Erica looked really old when talking to Gary outside the gym. She's usually wearing a tonne of make up but she looked haggard!

Bit of trivia - the bully girl is played by a girl called Shannon who until recently was one of the CBBC presenters. I'd thought she looked familiar!

Another thing that's stupid about this Maria story is why on earth would she do this for a man she barely knows? Do something illegal and risk a criminal record and a decent future with her son? The writers are really scraping the barrel with this one.

We've had the marriage to get a visa thing before too with Graham and the girl whose name escapes me but she filled his flat with those Chinese waving cats! I wish this story would somehow backfire and mean Maria has to live in Argentina for ever with Pablo!

Ahem, I said ^ as soon as Gemma set foot inside the kebab shop that there was bound to be something happening with Gemma and Chesney . Two people have to simply exchange the time of day and next thing they're an item.

I think they desperately need to cut this show back to two or three episodes a week. They simply don't have the storylines or enough engaging characters to fill five episodes of decent viewing.

Ah yes, Xan and Graeme. I liked Graeme but he shat on Tina from a great height.

That was another example of a totally implausible, out-of-character storyline they gave Graeme, as a way of writing him out.

Graham was a great character but his exit was rubbish. Strange I've never seen that actor in anything else and he was funny.

Why was Gary mate having to chase him up? Surely you go to your dealer? He already said he had the day off to take hake to child minders then have lunch Izzy wash up then stroll into work at 4pm. Given that's around the corner why couldn't Gary have met him?

Anna is being very OTT about why Izzy needs to use it like she's doing it for fun. Can imagine SS will be told if one parent now a dealer and the other a user....
