Corrie thread - How many more implausible plots until the new person takes over? NO SPOILERS PLEASE

Have started a new thread as the old one was nearly full and people wanted a "No spoilers" message in the title.

Are we placing too much hope in the new producer? How the hell are they going to get out of the plot holes?

I read the other day that the Les Battersby actor was seen at the studios. I am hoping that was a bad-taste April Fool's joke.

Grin hard to believe that Todd was so enamoured of Nick, in a previous (re)incarnation Wink, that he couldn't hold back from pouncing on him. Nick looks old enough to be his grandad these days.

In rl though, Erica would have a string of similar mates, not hanging out with Mary.

I wondered if the Todd/Nick past liaison would crop up when they were both being suggested as godparents for Harry, but it wasn't mentioned.

It's just really dull at the moment. I wish they would just do a story properly. The Maria storyline looks like it's going to be really boring, as well.

theliverpoolone but I think that shows Erica has a kind heart: Mary's not her usual cup of tea but she extended the hand of friendship because she could see Mary was upset and lonely. Carla and Hayley, and Becky and Roy & Hayley were other unlikely friendships that worked.

Totally stupid! It's likely Maria may want met someone snd get married (again?) snd she have to get divorced. But surely they check these things. She would been better off having 2 boyfriends

Why can't they cast age appropriate actors. It is ridiculous to have a 44 year old playing Nick. Meanwhile the woman who plays 14 yo Bethany looks older than her screen mum.

I think they cast an actress for Bethany originally who was older than Tina o'brien, or the same age anyway.

Yes its never mentioned where Sarah, bay and Beth sleep and it being a squash at the Platts. Isn't it 3 bed upstairs. ridiculous.

What i dont understand is why sarah was pushed into moving in with the platts so they could help with the baby then she is awake for 37 hours and david saying he never heard the baby crying. He was offering zero support. Clearly gail or kylie didnt hear him either and no-one other than bethany available to take him for a walk and even then sarah was doing laundry and still didnt manage to sleep. Why did they want her to move in when no-one is helping her?

I wonder if they are gearing up for some story about Nick's brain injury as his reaction to the bullies was a very emotional uncontrolled one and he looked so unwell which is either make up or he really wasn't feeling good. He's got the moving stress etc going on so may be script writers have suddenly remembered the brain injury and might use that in the story.

I can't stand dull, drab Maria, the storyline is pointless and boring and her parents definitely do live in Cyprus.

I really hope the new producer gets a good archivist who can bring some continuity, background and history.

I think the writers don't know what to do with Maria so they've given her this stupid story. I hope the new producer is tough enough to get rid of the deadwood characters like her.

Yes definitely thought that scene with the bully was a suggestion that nick's brain injury was going to resurface. Which would be good in that at least they are reflecting the reality of mental health issues rather than one episode then never mentioned again.
