Corrie thread - How many more implausible plots until the new person takes over? NO SPOILERS PLEASE

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/04/2016 20:03

Have started a new thread as the old one was nearly full and people wanted a "No spoilers" message in the title.

Are we placing too much hope in the new producer? How the hell are they going to get out of the plot holes?

I read the other day that the Les Battersby actor was seen at the studios. I am hoping that was a bad-taste April Fool's joke.

GetHappy

Thats actually a pretty believeable story... so it'll never happen on Corrie. Grin

What will happen is that Tony isnt dead.
Tony has pictures of Gemma and Jason having sex.
Gemma, now being in a realtionship with Craig.
Tony will use the sex video footage to blackmail Gemma into taking the wrap for Callums death.
Instead of telling the police that Tony is blackmailing her and has filmed her sleeping with his son, Gemma will play along with it because she loves Craig.
Todd, who is now in a sexual relationship with Jenny Bradley (Jenny only doing it to make Johnny jealous obviously), will step in and help Gemma and prove Tony and he burnt Callums car.
At the end it will be revealed that Jason knew all about this plan, that he seduced Gemma and had played the part of grieving son perfectly.
all of it will culminate in Tony and Jason riding off into the sunset together in a works van.

Yes it makes no sense, it totally changes characters personalities and puts people into ridiculous situations.... perfect for Corrie..

Get happy That would seem to make sense. The wrench Kyle used to bash Callum's head in belonged to Jason and didn't Tony and Todd torch Callum's car? However Kylie is leaving too, so I don't know how they weave that in too. Also I can't imagine Sarah Lou, not spilling her guts.

I hope Jason doesn't get screwed over by the Platts or Phelan before he leaves. Plus we've had the whole wrongly accused of murder bollocks with Peter and Tina, so don't fancy sitting through that again.

MadHattersWineParty · 30/05/2016 19:42

What the hell is Aiden's accent meant to be?

I see it's another regular Bank Holiday Monday in Corrie. Factory, cafe, kebab shop, all open as normal.

Wishfulmakeupping · 30/05/2016 19:53

Catching up on this thread...
But from tonight's episode-
Make up artist who did cathy's injuries wants sacking I could have done a better job.
Who is the female detective? She's very familiar.
Why are they all so calm?!

SymphonyofShadows · 30/05/2016 20:08

Why is Fiz waddling down the road?

unimagmative13 · 30/05/2016 20:18

The female and male detectives are both recognisable

Clawdy · 30/05/2016 20:24

That female police woman questioning David certainly wins the prize for over-acting. Ridiculous facial expressions and gestures. Why didn't she watch Lesley Sharp in Happy Valley with her gentle, measured voice getting to the truth quietly but surely.......

GottaGetThisDone · 30/05/2016 21:07

Awww Roy is gonna paddle again Grin

southeastdweller · 30/05/2016 21:26

I agree that actress was poor in the first episode tonight. Couldn't be bothered to watch the second one.

Emily Woof. She played Robert Caryle's ex-wife in the Full Monty. Amongst other things.

Rachel0Greep · 30/05/2016 23:06

Sinead is such a non-character. Time for her to depart, I think. She can take Ches with her.

seeyounearertime · 30/05/2016 23:15

How did Eileen hear what Sarah said about Jason getting arrested?

unimagmative13 · 30/05/2016 23:29

Yes and the male detective reminds me of someone French or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Autumn2014 · 31/05/2016 02:18

Even norris thought the crash was implausible. 'so a vehicle turning a corner in residential area takes down gains annexe like house of cards'

SymphonyofShadows · 31/05/2016 07:00

Is the 'someone french' the policeman from Allo Allo?

scarlets · 31/05/2016 07:21

The woman who plays Calum's mother is wooden. She was confronting the man whom she beloved to be her child's murderer, yet she barely moved. There was no passion or energy there whatsoever.

Sinead as a model is ridiculous. The actress is quite pretty but she's not a model, not even catalogue level. I thought it was going to be a Plain Jane Superbrain story (no one under 35 will get that reference lol) but no, she looks the same.

Roy and Kathy were the highlight for me. Very subtle. I'd love it if Sylvia came back, I reckon that Stephanie Cole and Melanie Hill could have some great scenes together.

BoGrainger · 31/05/2016 08:19

It would be great if they could pin it on Phelan. It would be no more outrageous or unbelievable than what we have been forced to put up with this last year.

Ivegotyourgoat · 31/05/2016 12:15

I'm enjoying Corrie more lately. I love the way David is so cool and calm about everything. Gail seems strangely calm about it all, you'd have thought they'd all have been wracking their brains as to how Callum's body ended up there, although I suppose she suspects David.

I think Sineads modelling was supposed to be like an average ordinary woman. She and Chesney are so boring anyway.

I like Phelan as a villain, he's quite scary.

There's still so many awful pointless characters though.

unimagmative13 · 31/05/2016 12:33

Or I'm thinking he's playing a gay character in a movie.

But I can't think!!!

theliverpoolone · 31/05/2016 20:44

Phelan won 'best villain' at the Soap Awards (and turned up looking alarmingly like George Galloway in a trilby hat Grin)

southeastdweller · 31/05/2016 21:00

I was really happy he won that and hopefully the new producer will keep him on for longer.

southeastdweller · 31/05/2016 21:04

The actor who plays the detective has been in loads of stuff. Some of you may remember him in Emmerdale:

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 01/06/2016 09:38

I'll be interested to see how Pat Phrlan pans out. I would like to see a bit more depth and shade, rather than this arch villan/manipulator. I wonder if he actually develops genuine feelings for Eileen.

RainbowCake · 01/06/2016 21:17

Alistair is so one of Phelans dodgy mates. Mary and Norris do make me chuckle though. Shows how thrilling it is at the moment that I can only really remember slates being discussed.

seeyounearertime · 01/06/2016 21:23

I can't believe Eva, it just seems totally out of character to do that? Also, Sarah's acting? Do they not have acting schools in Manchester?
