Corrie thread - How many more implausible plots until the new person takes over? NO SPOILERS PLEASE

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/04/2016 20:03

Have started a new thread as the old one was nearly full and people wanted a "No spoilers" message in the title.

Are we placing too much hope in the new producer? How the hell are they going to get out of the plot holes?

I read the other day that the Les Battersby actor was seen at the studios. I am hoping that was a bad-taste April Fool's joke.

I'm just glad the body storyline is being dealt with.

millimat · 26/05/2016 21:27

Like you say, couldn't they just blame out all on Tony and deny all knowledge? oh yes they need a way out for Kylie to leave

youngestisapsycho · 26/05/2016 21:27

Carla's eyebrows!!

LineyReborn · 26/05/2016 21:33

'I bought you bon bons'

Brilliant.

seeyounearertime · 26/05/2016 21:36

That was an anticlimax and when I say anticlimax I mean a massive bag of shit.

Optimist1 · 26/05/2016 21:59

Did anyone else think that Ken was utterly ineffectual in his dealings with Tracy? For someone who's articulate and principled he had bugger all to say about the chaos she caused. Deirdre wouldn't have been so passive!

southeastdweller · 26/05/2016 22:03

Loved Carla and Roy's last scene but otherwise that was a meh episode.

I'll miss Carla but with the way Corrie is at the moment Alison King is best out of it.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/05/2016 22:10

Optimist - Ken has been ineffectual all his life.

The Carla - Tracy confrontation was a damp squib. Wasted opportunity for something really interesting.

cupidsgame · 26/05/2016 22:41

Yes Optimist I thought it was very out of character for Ken to be so passive. He's always shown his anger before yet he was strangely silent tonight. They need to keep the characters true to form.

MargotLovedTom · 26/05/2016 22:58

Thought Amy was like a mini Deirdre when she did the "I'll get me violin," line.

I knew I recognised the female Detective Sergeant! - Emily Woof. Once in movies (Gaz's ex in The Full Monty), now a bit part in Corrie when it's shit and not cool to do a cameo like Ian McKellan did.

Agree Carla and Tracy last scene was shite, and I've never bought the idea of the bond between Carla and Roy.

AmIthatbloodycold · 26/05/2016 23:04

Thanks Margot, that will save me googling. I knew I recognised her

ASpongeAndARustySpanner · 26/05/2016 23:08

Name changer, long time lurker and former Corrie enthusiast who's now hanging on by her fingernails to it, here.

This whole week has been a massive anticlimax. Proper disappointing when it had the potential to be great! This whole Jenny/Johnny bollocks is getting on my nerves too.

theliverpoolone · 26/05/2016 23:29

If Callum's murder gets pinned on Jason I'm giving up a lifetime of Corrie-viewing. I like Jason, and think he's never really recovered from Todd manipulating his split with Eva Sad. All that nastiness to Eileen and Liz over Tony's death was ridiculously out of character.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 26/05/2016 23:34

What drives me mad about the Callum storyline is that it was so easily avoided. Callum was a known drug dealer who beat people up and if they'd just told the cops he attacking Sarah and Kylie saved her it would have been fine.

scoobdoob · 26/05/2016 23:40

I really thought I had missed an episode. I watched Wednesdays nights again to see if it made sense but it still seemed like there was a big bit missing. Very strange and an anticlimax

southeastdweller · 27/05/2016 08:31

No episode tonight.

unimagmative13 · 27/05/2016 11:45

I've said it before there's defo something about Jason hooking up with Gemma and Tony suddenly dying.

Rachel0Greep · 27/05/2016 12:18

I agree liverpoolone. I like Jason. He, Eileen and Todd are credible characters. I enjoy their family stuff, apart from the nonsense over Tony's death.

Rachel0Greep · 27/05/2016 12:20

That was an anticlimax and when I say anticlimax I mean a massive bag of shit.

Grin absolutely!

SymphonyofShadows · 28/05/2016 19:19

I really have no words for how pathetic is was. Carla deserved something better, no one cares about Nick and the crash was so hammy. Remember when Ashley's wife beat Tracey senseless and effed off to France and got away? Carla should have beaten the crap out of her and hopped on a plane to her mate in LA, who appears to have been forgotten about.

Akire · 28/05/2016 20:45

Just watched Thursday agree anti climax. How was Carla not breathilised ? What on earth were fiz ty doing all day if was dark when they came back!

Agree was expecting a fight at least with Tracey. Glad amy gone to the pub!!

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 28/05/2016 21:51

"... Tony suddenly dying"

Is it possible this had to happen so he could be posthumously framed for Callum's murder?

As well as moving Jason towards the exit.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 28/05/2016 23:02

I thought there was a bit when Carla said she was breathalysed and under the limit so she could run off.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 29/05/2016 02:06

I thought there was a bit when Carla said she was breathalysed and under the limit so she could run off.

Under the limit?

This is Carla at a wedding. There's no way she'd have been under the limit.

And was it ever explained why Ty and Fix took several tons of difficult to park and manoeuvre tow truck to the shopping centre to buy a dress rather than their car? Were they planning on getting a broken down Vauxhall Astra as a wedding present?
