Corrie thread - How many more implausible plots until the new person takes over? NO SPOILERS PLEASE

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/04/2016 20:03

Have started a new thread as the old one was nearly full and people wanted a "No spoilers" message in the title.

Are we placing too much hope in the new producer? How the hell are they going to get out of the plot holes?

I read the other day that the Les Battersby actor was seen at the studios. I am hoping that was a bad-taste April Fool's joke.

Phelan dumped the fliers in the bin.

RudeElf · 23/04/2016 13:04

Ahhh thank you all.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 23/04/2016 13:17

Todd has been developed really well. He was a cartoon villain when he came back with the Marcus storyline and the fake online suitor for Eileen. But now I love his relationship with Sarah and Bethany and I felt so sorry for him when Eileen wouldn't let him move back in. I hope he unleashes the full force of his powers on Phelan like that guy in XMen that can shoot the fire.

RudeElf · 23/04/2016 13:20

like that guy in XMen that can shoot the fire

Grin

Can just see it now!!

I only hope they dont do a full character change with Todd. Its lovely that he and sarah are having this friendship and he is supporting her but i dont want him just to be a completely different Todd now! There is room for him to still be an arsehole but also still have good relationships with certain people.

eddiemairswife · 23/04/2016 13:29

Where would he sleep at Eileen's?

RudeElf · 23/04/2016 13:32

In the chimney.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 23/04/2016 14:07

Well he lived there before so wherever he slept then! Assume she must have three rooms upstairs.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 23/04/2016 14:09

No I agree Elf I want him to be more complex. Nice to some people but evil when necessary. Not the extremes Corrie normally does ie Callum or Tracey

Rachel0Greep · 23/04/2016 19:30

Another here who is glad to see Todd becoming more central to storylines. I like the fact that he is more like the Todd of old, basically a decent guy, but that he has that edge about him now. Bruno Langley is a great actor. Looking forward to seeing him unmask Phelan. I think he is the only one who can.

katemiddletonsnudeheels · 24/04/2016 08:10

I agree.

Todd is a good character and 'developed' properly. I also like the fact that him being gay doesn't mean every storyline centres around him jumping in and out of bed with other gay men.

David is another one with an 'edge' although I've never warmed to David's character.

BoGrainger · 24/04/2016 09:01

Yes, I agree it's good Todd gets good storylines that don't revolve around his sexuality. Unfortunately Sean's and Sophie's always do.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 24/04/2016 11:43

Yes I hated the Marcus storyline. He had to steal the only gay in the village (who wasn't his quasi brother) off his girlfriend. And the fake internet dating. But he was all troubled and resentful then about losing his job and having to move back with his mam whereas now he's settled down and getting happier he is not as mean.

RudeElf · 24/04/2016 12:27

I used to hate the david character. We called him ratboy in our house. He was a hateful teen. And he pushed his mum down the stairs! But they have developed him so well. I love him now. Kylie and max have been the making of him and he really has come into his own. I love that he still has his sarky little jabs at everyone Grin

Seeyounearertime · 24/04/2016 12:35

I don't like David, his stupid face and whiny voice really annoy. I don't know if that's just the actor or a act iyswim.

millimat · 24/04/2016 15:21

I like David- it will be a shame when they write kylie out.

MargotLovedTom · 24/04/2016 16:15

I love David.

When are Carla and Nick supposed to be getting married and buggering off (obv I know it's not going to happen). They seem to have nowt to but hang around like cabbage farts. I don't want to Carla to go, mind.

Steve's return was a bit of a damp squib.

Bethany obv going to develop inappropriate crush on Luke.

katemiddletonsnudeheels · 24/04/2016 18:15

Where is Steve's dog? :)

Rachel0Greep · 24/04/2016 22:02

Am sick of Sophie hanging around like a bad smell, waiting to pounce every time she sees Kate appearing on the street. Caz / Kaz ... Whatever her name is, why would we as the viewers care about her. There is no depth to her character. Nor indeed to Kate's or Sophie's. Just drop the lot of them quietly. Nobody will notice.

theliverpoolone · 24/04/2016 22:19

Bethany obvs going to develop inappropriate crush on Luke Wasn't it Luke she tried to chat up in her first scene in the Rovers when she first arrived, all red lips and attitude?

Yes, Kate, I was wondering where Steve's dog is too - on previous form, she'd have been the first he'd have wanted to see when he arrived back Grin

southeastdweller · 24/04/2016 22:29

Like Sue Cleaver, Bruno Langley is great with comedic timing and can do the dramatic stuff well. I almost can't believe he's 33 - he's barely aged since he started in Corrie in 2001.

Clawdy · 24/04/2016 22:41

Agree that Steve's return was a bit of a damp squib. I realised I hadn't really missed him at all.

MadHattersWineParty · 25/04/2016 09:06

That bloke Michelle's been knocking about with, Will, reminds me of LittleFinger from Game of Thrones. Weird lilt to his accent, smarmy air.

I just can't picture having a covert extra marital hook-up when it's bloody brilliant bright sunshine out. Michelle looked a bit silly dressed up to the nines at what was blatantly tea-time 'cause the cafe was sill open. Would it have killed them to do some filming at night?!

KittyKrap · 25/04/2016 09:08

Michelle looked like a hooker!

Rachel0Greep · 25/04/2016 09:40

I've missed Steve, so glad to see him back. I was glad it was low key. The way Corrie is at the moment, it's a wonder they didn't have him arriving in, finding Michelle and Will in bed.
