Corrie thread - How many more implausible plots until the new person takes over? NO SPOILERS PLEASE

Have started a new thread as the old one was nearly full and people wanted a "No spoilers" message in the title.

Are we placing too much hope in the new producer? How the hell are they going to get out of the plot holes?

I read the other day that the Les Battersby actor was seen at the studios. I am hoping that was a bad-taste April Fool's joke.

The scrap metal story???? Who decided that was a good idea? It's like the writers are taking the piss out of the viewers at this stage.

I can't see how the Maria/Pablo/Luke story will end up. Maria married Pablo in Cyprus, presumably in secret otherwise her parents and hence Kirk would know. So now she must go through the farce of a divorce before she can marry Luke.

What WAS Michelle wearing when she went to that church place with her fancy man!? FAR TOO SHORT for her age I wouldn't even wear that out for a night and I'm 26! Ok so I can see it would be ok at a club/ bar but it was the middle of the day in a church! (Well church-a-like)

have i missed an episode. watching last , michelle and the wedding bloke were acting like they were having an affair but knew they had to end it but as far as ive seen all they have done is remember old times together and she confided in him about her troubled marriage,, well if that all it takes to tell someone you fancy them i must be really naive

Haven't watched until tonight and it is as if I haven't been away. Councillor Sally, Kim Marsh moaning about Steve, Liz crossing her arms and giving disapproving looks.

Has nothing really happened at all? Are you kidding about the Maria plot or are the writers stooping even lower than usual?? Who thought that was possible???

was half expecting Kate to be half dead, she sprained her ankle! Squaddie are super fit if you don't have arm strength to cope with crutches alone - you can't be much cop. Sure plenty single people manage to cope

The only thing I like at the minute is the tension between Todd and phelan.
In theory Todd should be able to outsmart phelan but I bet phelan manages to get something on Todd so he has to keep quiet.

Michelle looked stunning tonight, I thought.

I felt these episodes were OK - I liked that scene with Phelan and Todd, it was good to see Steve back (has Simon Greyson lost weight?), and I like the Cathy and Alex characters.

Only watched tonight because I knew Steve was arriving back. So happy to see him.

I wondered how Michelle got to Will's. She could hardly walk in those shoes, and as far as I know she doesn't have a car.

Thank God for Steve's return. This may help it limp along until the new producer takes over.

I really hope they handle the Todd and Phelan story properly. We want to see Todd at full manipulator power and using it for good.

Yes to Todd 'winning'. Phelan is just horrible and I want him fully named and shamed. And dead, so he can't come back. Maybe there is room under Gail's floor?

I'm getting obsessed about the lack of darkness. I know the days are getting longer, but everything seems takes place in bright sunshine, and people do evening things terribly early. Perhaps we ought to club together and buy the production team a dimmer switch.

Phelan is a good villain because he isn't one-dimensional. He wants to get his hands on Jason's business but imo he does care for him, as well as Eileen. I've read about a spoiler that happens next week for the Grimshaw's and potentially that could make great viewing with Phelan weedling his way further into the family. I hope he stays in the show for a while.

Yes definitely! I really hope they do that. Todd can so handle phelan. Never thought i would be cheering on todd! When he first cane back i thought it would be for a brief 2 week story where he stole eileen's credit card and then disappeared. Was amazed he had lasted this long, would b great to see them make use of him.

Also, i wasnt paying full attention last night but what is phelan's agenda with sally and breaking into the community centre?

Did Phelan put the election leaflets in the pillar box? If so, would the Post Office get in touch with Sally to complain?

I believe Phelan was trying to sabotage a meeting in demonstration against the freshco store. He wants it to be built so he and Jason can make some money. There was suppose to be a meeting at the community centre where people could voice disapproval, Phelan dumped the flyiers advertising the meeting so noone would come, then sabotaged the community centre so the meeting would be cancelled.

All that without being seen by anyone in a busy Manchester Street...
