the last thread got to 1000 (took 2 and a half YEARS Grin )

So:
Paddy and Rhona off to Germany with Marlons blessing.
Why did Rhona say "Pretend you fell off a horse" to explain his bruise. He's a Vet. He could've been kicked by any sort of animal, he's the most unlikely equestrian ever.

Eric- something going on with him. Not just a touch of dodgy tummy, I reckon he'll have something serious and bowel related (a slow burn storyline )

Holly- can't stick her, whiney irritating little twerp.

Charity, you are not the hottest thing to walk the Dales. Go Away.

Ashley Sad

Chrissie/Andy/Robert .
Chrissie and Robert are talking . Is there going to be another Sudgen Brother Love Triangle? (Yawn)

David and Eric have been brilliant in their scenes. So credible, really well done.

Rachel0Greep · 03/05/2016 10:31

Does anyone remember when the Kings were at Home Farm...tough businessmen and so on. That was all I could think of watching last night's episode. Okay, Jimmy seems to be the only one who has managed to stay alive (I think), so he deserves credit for that, living in a small village with such a high death rate. But seriously, having him going around wearing an apron, and nothing else. Hmm
I think they have made him into a joke character.

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 03/05/2016 12:42

Jimmy and nicola are both joke characters Imo.

ellenanora5 · 03/05/2016 17:12

David really annoyed me leaving hospital like that, just because he told Jake he would watch a match with him, why the hell wasn't he just honest with him in the first place.

Jimmy is definitely a joke character, I do like him though, wasn't to keen on seeing his arse so much.

SlinkyVagabond · 03/05/2016 17:19

Small but irritating thing about last night. The fish dying at home farm. Sam said it might be an otter. Does a game keeper not know that an otter would eat the fish? and probably lay a trap for it Would they not know to contact defra?

Rachel0Greep · 03/05/2016 18:57

ellenanora same here. I like Jimmy, but at this stage I have seen his arse more often than I ever would have wished. Plus would he really go and answer the door wearing nothing but an apron. Hmm

I just wanted to shout at the tv when David reappeared in the shop, after leaving hospital, and then started off walking with Jacob. Stupid storyline!

SlinkyVagabond · 03/05/2016 19:21

Aw Edna.

Rachel0Greep · 06/05/2016 10:33

Missed some episodes this week. I gather that Robert did some deal with Lawrence. And that Charity had some involvement.

Eastie77 · 06/05/2016 16:28

Lawrence did a deal with Charity so that Homes James will provide some kind of service for Home Farm. Robert wanted to be part of it but Lawrence narrowed his eyes and said "no, I'll never do business with you"

He then gave Robert a cheque for £££ and told Robert to leave the village and start a business elsewhere. Perfectly normal to give money to the son in law you hateConfused

Robert then bought Charity's share of Home James with said cheque. She now has the money to buy her share of the Woolpack. Lawrence will now have to work with Robert.

This all happened in the space of 15 minsGrin

Rachel0Greep · 06/05/2016 16:33

Thanks Eastie

I just hope that ends the nonsense of Charity and Ross stealing stuff. And dour Doug growling. Looking forward to seeing Charity behind the bar a bit more instead, and of course being at Home Farm.

youngestisapsycho · 06/05/2016 17:52

Doug should have cancelled the cheque!

unimagmative13 · 06/05/2016 19:21

I'm going to take a wild guess Emma will lie about having cancer.

If that wasn't an obvious hint Hmm

DanyellasDonkey · 06/05/2016 21:37

Emma is a horrible character. Pretending to have MND is in very poor taste for people who may have family members with this or any other serious illness.

Just how often will she do something inappropriate at work and miraculously keep her job or tell lies to her family and get away with it. Shock

Rachel0Greep · 06/05/2016 22:03

Can't stand her. Partly because I don't think the writers ever decided exactly what they wanted her to be. So she can seem almost nice, and then suddenly very creepy. I'd prefer if she was one or the other.

southeastdweller · 06/05/2016 22:42

I don't mind the extremes of Emma's character, but there's no back story there so I can't bring myself to either like or dislike her. I do love Gillian Kearney, though, she's a good actress and I've liked her since the Damon & Debbie days,

Rachel0Greep · 07/05/2016 16:16

I agree that she is good, I can't quite explain what it is, but I always think the writers can't make up their minds about her character.

Rachel0Greep · 12/05/2016 09:01

Not fully up to speed yet, have to watch last night's episode. I half hoped Diane wouldn't sell after all. Dour Doug can cheer up now. Maybe...

IsMyUserNameRubbish · 12/05/2016 09:05

Why they ever deemed it necessary to bring wooden Holly back I've no idea, a stick of celery has more emotion and can act better than her.

Rachel0Greep · 12/05/2016 14:14

She slightly fascinates me. Only because her face doesn't move, and because she has no tone in her voice. Dreadful actress.

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 12/05/2016 14:19

I'm surprised people find emma having extremes of personality. I've always seen her 'nice' moments as part of her conniving agenda. So not being nice at all but just manipulating people to trust her so she can get her own way.

Jojoanna · 12/05/2016 18:04

Implausible storyline nurse blackmails doctor. I'm bored with Emma

Rachel0Greep · 12/05/2016 19:08

And her calling social services about Carly just faded away.

Eastie77 · 12/05/2016 23:19

Wasn't she fairly nice/helpful re. Chas once she realised she was suffering from post traumatic disorder after she stabbed Diane and was sleepwalking etc.

Of course Chas recovered from that disorder in a few days (no counselling needed) and it was never mentioned again!

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 12/05/2016 23:53

Umm, didnt emma cause the whole chas suspicion of intruder thing that lead to her stabbing diane by breaking into the woolpack, causing damage and locking her in the cellar?

IsMyUserNameRubbish · 13/05/2016 08:31

Emma is mentally deranged, making your children think you're seriously ill to keep them with you, and face risking the sack by blackmailing your boss, proof in point. If I was that doctor I'd have told her to get on with it, because she'd lose her job, family and respect too, she'd also risk prison, were as you don't for having an affair, but nooooo I bet like the clever, educated doctor he is goes right along with her blackmailing.
