the last thread got to 1000 (took 2 and a half YEARS Grin )

So:
Paddy and Rhona off to Germany with Marlons blessing.
Why did Rhona say "Pretend you fell off a horse" to explain his bruise. He's a Vet. He could've been kicked by any sort of animal, he's the most unlikely equestrian ever.

Eric- something going on with him. Not just a touch of dodgy tummy, I reckon he'll have something serious and bowel related (a slow burn storyline )

Holly- can't stick her, whiney irritating little twerp.

Charity, you are not the hottest thing to walk the Dales. Go Away.

Ashley Sad

Chrissie/Andy/Robert .
Chrissie and Robert are talking . Is there going to be another Sudgen Brother Love Triangle? (Yawn)

I hope and pray Paddy has gone for good. I can't stand his awful, wooden acting. Now if they can just get rid of the ghastly Holly all will be well.

Why on earth would Debbie move to Paris of all placesConfused

KenDoddsDadsDog · 20/04/2016 21:46

Paddy's checks were like an arse.

southeastdweller · 20/04/2016 22:21

Pierce and Rhona is going to happen, isn't it?

Rachel0Greep · 20/04/2016 23:41

Yes, I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen. Totally ridiculous. She knows nothing about him, offers him a place to stay, and he appears in the kitchen wearing her dressing gown. Even for soap, that is far fetched, in my opinion,

hairymelonwalton · 22/04/2016 18:15

belle and the doctor just dont go together she looks way to young and tracy throwing herself at david i wanted him to tell her to piss off last night

hairymelonwalton · 25/04/2016 17:54

i feel really sorry for david hes playing the part really well he seems more concerned about jakey i hope theres a good outcome
hes not going out of it is he?

ellenanora5 · 25/04/2016 21:10

I think they will do this storyline very well, they usually deal with these issues brilliantly, when Sarah was sick it was some of the best acting I've ever seen, and I'll never forget how fantastic Laurel was when Daniel died.

These are the storylines that Corrie can't handle at all, I wasn't one bit moved when Fiz little girl was sick so I stopped watching and only tuned in tonight because I read that Steve was back.

southeastdweller · 25/04/2016 21:19

I've only been watching properly for a year but from what I've seen I agree about issue stories being done well in Emmerdale. I thought Laurel's alcoholism story was interesting and harrowing to watch and I like that they still refer to it. A friend who's watched for longer than I have raved about the Jackson and Aaron story in 2011.

Rachel0Greep · 25/04/2016 23:23

Agreed. Emmerdale has handled so many harrowing storylines really really well. The general calibre of the acting is, in my opinion, way ahead of Corrie.

Same here re Hope's illness in Corrie, really badly written, and dreadfully acted. I had stopped watching Corrie especially of late. Only picked it back up Friday really because Steve was returning.

The scene with David and Eric on Friday was so well acted, so real, amazing stuff

RudeElf · 26/04/2016 10:00

I think the last storyline in corrie that actually worked and was done well was hayley's illness and death.

RudeElf · 26/04/2016 10:02

Also, i was really worrying about where they would go with eric now that val is gone as he was a comedy figure before their relationship but i think they have done so well withbhis character. Bringing david into emmerdale has creating this whole new life for eric and he cant just disappear back into grumpy (norris cole) territory.

Rachel0Greep · 26/04/2016 12:48

David and Eric are playing an absolute blinder in this storyline.

I wasn't convinced though by the scene where Tracy was bad-mouthing David and he overheard her. Why do people in soap always sit or stand with their backs turned, so that the person they are talking about can conveniently hear every word.
And David and Tracy getting all lovey-dovey. I don't think I noticed any sign of him being attracted to her, before last night. I would love to see David and Leyla together. I don't like the fact that Leyla is still pining about Jai. She deserves someone nice, and I love her scenes with David.

RudeElf · 26/04/2016 12:56

No i'm not buying david and tracey at all. There is zero compatability there. No chemistry.

I thought david and bob's daughter were going to get together- that seemed to be obvious but clearly not.

Rachel0Greep · 26/04/2016 13:00

Yes, I would like to see him with Carly, if they won't put him with Leyla.

Eastie77 · 27/04/2016 18:34

Rishi is such a pushover. Can't believe he gave Belle her job back just like that.

Jimmy should become a childminder!

southeastdweller · 27/04/2016 22:27

Finn is adorable but how does he think he can start a business for him and Pete with a fund of just a few grand?

Rachel0Greep · 30/04/2016 11:08

He needs to leave the B&B if Dourfaced Doug is going to be there. Nobody could work with him.

DanyellasDonkey · 30/04/2016 13:53

That scene where the doctor was creeping round the back of the pigsty, then declaring his undying love for Belle was SO cringeworthy.

Also doesn't anyone keep track of Jacob's attendance? He seems to hop from England to Portugal and (presumably) attend school without anyone questioning his attendance?

Rachel0Greep · 30/04/2016 14:43

So cringeworthy. I just don't like that storyline at all. Now he knows her age, but still creeps back to her. Ugh.

hairymelonwalton · 30/04/2016 16:39

the doctors wife looks ever so familar but i cant think where ive seen her before

southeastdweller · 30/04/2016 17:26

She was in EE a few years ago and played Bradley Branning's girlfriend.

hairymelonwalton · 30/04/2016 17:37

oh yes thats it eastenders thanks( i cant concentrate on a programme when im trying to figure what else they have been in)

ellenanora5 · 30/04/2016 21:05

Yep I agree with you all, Belle and the doctor is yuk, and he's not a great actor, mind you she gets more irritating by the episode, and what is the deal with Rishi and Joanie, does he fancy her or something, she says jump and he says how high, very strange.

I was wondering about Jacob and school also, very haphazard altogether.

Rachel0Greep · 30/04/2016 21:17

I was never a fan of Belle, I must admit. I do think the actress is very good though.

southeastdweller · 30/04/2016 21:31

The Belle and Jermaine story is uncomfortable, but sadly realistic and very common of course so I can't say I like it but as a viewer I do find it very watchable.

I've loved the heartfelt scenes this week with David and Eric.
