the last thread got to 1000 (took 2 and a half YEARS Grin )

So:
Paddy and Rhona off to Germany with Marlons blessing.
Why did Rhona say "Pretend you fell off a horse" to explain his bruise. He's a Vet. He could've been kicked by any sort of animal, he's the most unlikely equestrian ever.

Eric- something going on with him. Not just a touch of dodgy tummy, I reckon he'll have something serious and bowel related (a slow burn storyline )

Holly- can't stick her, whiney irritating little twerp.

Charity, you are not the hottest thing to walk the Dales. Go Away.

Ashley Sad

Chrissie/Andy/Robert .
Chrissie and Robert are talking . Is there going to be another Sudgen Brother Love Triangle? (Yawn)

Oh thank you! I knew I recognised her voice from something but just couldn't put my finger on it.

deloresclaiborne · 19/12/2016 16:11

can someone refresh my memory, ive got abit lost
who is jacobs real mom is it the one thats in it now (cant remember her name alisha?) or the other one that was married to david whose left to work for this morning
that aside i love robert and aaron i think they are the best gay couple on tv and i read somewhere that chas is pregnant with twins in real life

Thinkingblonde · 19/12/2016 18:43

His real mum is the sister of Alisha, she's the one that was in a business partnership with Megan, The 'Events/ wedding planners. Alisha brought him up and he was told that his bio mum was his aunt.
Can't for the life of me remember the characters name.

Thinkingblonde · 19/12/2016 18:45

His mum is the one that's in it now, he thought she was his aunt.

deloresclaiborne · 19/12/2016 18:50

thanks, its so long ago i couldnt remember plus he lives with david (custody) even though his real mom/aunt is there

Thinkingblonde · 19/12/2016 19:00

I get confused with the Laurel/AshleyMarlon/Rhona/Marlon thing

JenLindleyShitMom · 20/12/2016 19:38

Did anyone watch this evening? Sad

Pigeonpair1 · 20/12/2016 19:39

Yes I did - it was heartbreaking. Very cleverly done though.

JenLindleyShitMom · 20/12/2016 19:41

It was brilliantly done. I was in floods of tears. I don't have experience of dementia so I hope they did it justice but it really brought it "alive" for me.

DanyellasDonkey · 20/12/2016 19:49

It was excellent tonight. I was sitting there thinking, "This doesn't make sense", then I realised that was the whole point - that the world doesn't make sense to someone with dementia.

JenLindleyShitMom · 20/12/2016 20:09

Yes I was really confused trying to work out where he was and who the people were but that was the whole point, to make us feel what Ashley was feeling. Just utter confusion.

ellenanora5 · 20/12/2016 20:12

I thought it was done very well, very moving, got quite emotional watching it Sad

JaneJeffer · 20/12/2016 20:44

Oh it was brilliant. Poor Ashley.

WilburIsSomePig · 21/12/2016 09:18

I've just sobbed all the way through last night's episode.

Thinkingblonde · 21/12/2016 10:50

I was confused and wondered who the young man in the church was, until I saw Aaron's face reflected in the cars side window when Ashley got out of the car st the road works. when Ashley spoke to him the strangers face the-appeared...I got it then.

Tuktuktaker · 21/12/2016 14:37

My mother had vascular dementia when she died (of an unrelated illness) four years ago last week. Emmerdale was her favourite soap.
I've been feeling particularly bad this year remembering her at the time of the anniversary of her death, and it was only watching Monday's episode that made me realise that Ashley's story was reminding me of the last few years of my mother's life and making my memories particularly poignant. I thought last night's episode was extremely well done, it had me in bits again, and I hope the actor gets all the acclaim he deserves - and the writers, as well.

Pastamancer · 21/12/2016 17:06

I could work out everyone except Aaron, I thought it was the vicar of whichever church Ashley ended up in

knorrig · 21/12/2016 18:14

Jacob's mum is Leyla

knorrig · 21/12/2016 18:15

Last nights episode was done very well...very moving! My grandmother has vascular dementia and I could see definite similarities...like how he kept talking about his mother and the past...my grandma talks about us as if we're still children, such a dad cruel illness.

knorrig · 21/12/2016 18:15

*sad

deloresclaiborne · 24/12/2016 08:23

what is it with tv shows that think its ok for a woman to hit a man.
violence is violence regardless of the sexs or is it because moira is a feeble woman and cain is the hard man that its ok
it really annoys me how they think its ok for a woman to lash out because she a woman

JenLindleyShitMom · 24/12/2016 10:53

Feeble is the last thing I would describe Moira as! But I agree it shouldn't be ok for women to hit men in soaps as it helps to justify it in real life.

knorrig · 24/12/2016 11:05

Agree she's hardly feeble! She runs a farm!

deloresclaiborne · 24/12/2016 17:06

i didnt mean moira is feeble i meant her hitting cain is ok because she a feeble (weaker) woman that they think its ok
sorry i should of explained it better
it really annoys me that a woman hitting a man is ok, cos hes a man and can take it, if it had been the other way around there would be uproar
sorry to go on but it really does annoy me

Thinkingblonde · 24/12/2016 17:48

Poor Paddy got clouted three times last week, once by Rhona, then Chaz and finally by that strange grief councellor who had the hots for him. His cheek must have been sore, it was bright red which wasn't make up.
