Eric- something going on with him. Not just a touch of dodgy tummy, I reckon he'll have something serious and bowel related (a slow burn storyline )

Oh, I thought charity was ringing the bloke who was in Sweden. Some sort of pub related person she tried to get it on with a while back in order to win the best pub competition and £5k. But I have read that see and Cain go public soon so maybe I'm wrong.

It's ever since the new producer person came along. All the storylines have gone completely far fetched and generally pretty depressing a la Eastenders. Then they try to bring back the old Emmerdale fun and loghtheartedness but are crap at it and think slapstick is the answer.

Such a shame. I used to LOVE Emmerdale and still think there are some excellent characters in it if only they'd write like they used to.

Completely agree Smidge. I can't help wondering how the actors feel about some of the nonsense they have to act now, compared to what they used to do. I thought the wedding was beyond farcical, for example.

I'm just guessing about Charity ringing Cain, because I seldom watch now. But even the way they got back together again didn't ring true for me. They are at their best, IMO, when arguing with one another.
Saw part of it yesterday, Ross and Charity planning to steal a dog. FFS.

It's bloody crap at the moment, I was thinking that about the actors to Rachel, I wonder do they read the scripts and then go "well, that's a load of shit that has been done to death already"

I hope Charity is really leaving, I can't stand her character, but dognapping of all things, jesus they must have a child writing that storyline

Exactly ellenanora. To be honest, the beginning of the end for me was Lisa and Zak being split up. I just kept thinking, no that wouldn't happen. That was while Kate Oates was still in charge, I know.

Since then though, it's as if the writers / producer think, oh yes, we haven't done this to death already...while doing something to death. It has lost the subtlety that I think it did have also. There are no small everyday moments that make a soap 'real'. It's just crash bang wallop from one daft story to the next. Ah well.

I think Pierce must have read the Marie Kondo book . Could do with him around here for a while.

I'm looking forward to the October stunt episodes, hope they're good.

Jesus, wasn't expecting that, poor Moira, I started crying, kind of feel bad now because I never stopped complaining about Holly.

I think it will have been accidental, didn't she text Jai earlier though, or unless someone snuck in and injected her, maybe the chap that Moira threatened ( I might watch too many soaps)

Mind you I did a little cheer when she told Adam off, he always pushing it, why why why, and now we'll have to put up with his moody sulky face for weeks.

Some very good acting in that episode

Stuck it was a heroin wrap on the floor.
I thought I was sad, she was getting her life back, she'd got something happening with Jai (who will be a suspect I'd imagine) she looked really pretty in that dress yesterday. I know it's only a stupid soap, but I think as a mother of adult kids it hits hard.

That scene of Moira hugging her, with her little cuddly, was really moving.

Didn't see that coming either, I knew Holly was leaving but never expected that to happen. I just said to OH last night what a pretty girl she was - shame she was such a bad actress.

Thought Natalie Robb was amazing tonight. I just hope Cain gets back with her and ditches that pathetic gurning old trollope.

I actually thought the death itself was beautifully done iyswim. When the curtains were fluttering at the open window and Moira was getting no reply I thought Holly had climbed out the window to run off to Jai

One of the best (and most unexpected) soap episodes I've ever seen - definitely worthy of an award.
