Absolutely the best way to watch it Darts. Keep going .... you're nearly there!

Nickel45 · 14/04/2016 22:54

Definitely not wrong darts :)

Any alcohol pix!! Wink
Thinking about it, if there wasn't there probably wouldn't be anyone at our meetings!

Ilovelblue · 14/04/2016 23:21

You have our blessing Darts.

You probably understand now why we've kept this thread alive since October 2014!

DartsTart · 15/04/2016 00:17

OMFG - Smurf ...........

DartsTart · 15/04/2016 00:24

In fact this whole watch has been really poignant for me - as I realise it is 15 years ago today (15th) that my captain died ....... Have to admit - a lump did form watching the funeral ...........

Rhubarb01 · 15/04/2016 00:31

So sorry, Darts.

We get a bit carried away and excited with our fictional world, for obvious reasons, but the real world is a different matter.

DartsTart · 15/04/2016 08:33

No it is fine - time is a great healer - just sorry he did not get to grow old if that makes sense - and I have just rim ages through my old photos and found a pic of him and he really did look like CJ Grin

cjwoofwoof · 15/04/2016 09:42

Ah that's sad tarts - ditto to Rhus comments, we do get a bit carried away with our fictional world - reality is something else altogether. mooj knows how you will be feeling as she's the one on here closest to the reality of a serving DH.

On a lighter note, now you're a fully fledged one-of-us you can go and be brilliant today but make sure you come back to us, preferably with a couple of takeaway Rosabayas from Costa Wink

DartsTart · 15/04/2016 09:47

Thanks guys - I have had a glorious yomp through the plain - rumbled another training sortie - dodged a tank and had happy thoughts .... Mainly of men in uniform - they are my weakness

Off to drink champagne later - so all in all I cannot complain. -

cjwoofwoof · 15/04/2016 10:44

Yomp is such a great word tartsy on a par with trickle, quirk and furtle. I'm thinking of tracking down that platoon on the plain and partaking of all four of those words. Just hope my quirk can handle it following an unexpected yomp with AT already this morning Grin

moojangles · 15/04/2016 17:13

Welcome to our planet darts! Sorry to hear of the significance of todays date Flowers. Enjoy your champers

kuiakaituhi · 15/04/2016 17:38

Woof did I tell you I was given some Rosabaya as a pressie from mate who knows about my CJ addiction as well as my coffee fixation? In my late mother's unique turn of phrase for any drink she didn't like , it reminded me of hyena's urine. Bloody awful. Don't bother getting any from Costa. Suggest gin, wine anything else... probably with alcohol.
Darts Tart I can recognise a kindred spirit from thousands of miles away. Glad you've found this lot of LLC's, and other interesting varieties of oversexed, man crazy (specific men, that is) participants in lunacy.

Ilovelblue · 15/04/2016 17:46

Hurray it's Friday!

Darts glad you have seen all the OG episodes and so understand our obsession. Very sorry though about your captain. It's so easy to brush over the really sad bits on TV and in films but reality is so different.

My obsession with uniforms comes from spending time on RAF stations in a previous job and working with serving and ex RAF officers.

Trying to decide how to convince my gardening friend when we are staying near Wisley that we need to go to Sandhurst for a look around. From a previous visit years ago, it was nothing to write home about so what can I say to sell it to her?

Rhubarb01 · 15/04/2016 17:48

Evening all. I have to say on reflection that Dart's initiation ceremony in watching all 5 episodes back to back was 'above and beyond'. I think we should ask ourselves 'What have we learned?' and the answer in my mind is that the OG Annual Convention at Bailbrook House should include an induction session for wannabe members that involves a back to back screening followed by a written exam on all the finer points of OG/CJ. This should be designed to test their observation and... er... appreciation powers. Would anyone care to submit some exam questions? It could be multiple choice of course!

moojangles · 15/04/2016 17:55

Which leg was injured first?

Ilovelblue · 15/04/2016 18:06

No Rhubarb I think it should be essay style. Multiple choice doesn't allow one's imagination to run riot. Do we accept all wannabees regardless of their exam results?

DartsTart · 15/04/2016 18:31

"have I passed the initiation?" - I have to admit - it was very enjoyable revision if a test paper is required...... Glad you feel I "put the effort in" -

Am now on the champagne - so if I end up talking Swahili to you all later - I do apologise ........

DartsTart · 15/04/2016 18:51

Sandhurst has a flagship M&S/ next and a fab little pub round the corner that does excellent Thai food - that may win them over - if FAF young officers in uniform is not quite enough of a pull......

DartsTart · 15/04/2016 18:52

Ilovelblue · 15/04/2016 18:59

Oooooooh my friend is a huge fan of M&S. That may well sell it to her. Not jeen on Thai food myself so M&S is my best bet. Thanks for that Darts. I think I was working in Frimley in 2001 and couldn't resist the lure of the uniforms in nearby Sandhurst but was extremely disappointed. It's obviously gone more upmarket since.

Ilovelblue · 15/04/2016 18:59

Keen not jeen!

Ilovelblue · 15/04/2016 19:00

And yes, you passed our initiation test. You are the nuts!

Rhubarb01 · 15/04/2016 19:52

Sorry, just been out for a pub tea with the kids so unable to respond to the suggestion ilove until now. Yes, I can see that we would want to be sure that all wannabes were of the correct calibre and sufficiently versed in every nuance. To that end a testing question has occurred to me:

"CJ has many appealing personal mannerisms. Describe three in detail and discuss the emotional significance of each (in lots and lots of minute detail!!!)"

And Darts you have definitely displayed enough "charm and magnetism" to make the grade! Grin

Rhubarb01 · 15/04/2016 19:56

I suppose we would have to appoint a Chief Examiner - or a board of examiners based on their particular skills.

Ilovelblue · 15/04/2016 20:34

Could I be so bold as to put myself forward to be on the board Rhubarb?
