Just saw we were dangerously close to filling the last thread so have taken the liberty as starting this one.

Ah yes, Christopher Plummer as the Captain does things to me too.

Ida - Those pictures are amazing! He looks better out of his dog collar!

Wow very different!

Alisvolatpropiis · 06/03/2016 17:22

Need I found the incestuous element to the brother and sister from the work house very disturbing.

NeedACleverNN · 06/03/2016 17:26

I did find it disturbing when it was portrayed in the program. It was incest to me and I couldn't understand it.

In the book however, the back story to it was so detailed and moving that you could completely understand and even forgive that they were brother and sister.

They amount of effort and work that poor boy had to do to release his sister who suffered terrible abuse, it's no wonder they never felt safe enough to open themselves to anyone else

diddl · 06/03/2016 17:28

Was it definitely incest?

I know they were sleeping in the same bed, but that doesn't have to mean sex.

NeedACleverNN · 06/03/2016 17:29

You know...I'm not entirely sure.

MrsJayy · 06/03/2016 17:31

They were living as man and wife sister Julienne did a morality speech about it say we cant judge

NeedACleverNN · 06/03/2016 17:36

Yes a quick google did say eventually it was incest. Not good at first glance but the whole story itself is actually very heart tugging

seasidesally · 06/03/2016 17:42

Smj was clutching her stomach in the womb episode i think its her sad

i think we were all were and crossing our legs Smile

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 06/03/2016 17:49

When she was fasting there was a bit where she walked past a table and clutched at her stomach. Is that the bit you mean? She was eating again last week though I think, so I presumed that it was just hunger pangs or similar.

MrsJayy · 06/03/2016 17:58

Yeah that bit although maybe was the same reaction everybody got when thinking about pulled out womb

katienana · 06/03/2016 18:00

I think it could be Fred. I don't think they'd kill of Trixie I really want her to find happiness. Don't do it to me CTM not on mother's day!

Alfieisnoisy · 06/03/2016 18:12

I don't think th Beeb will want to lose Helen George. Trixie is such a big part of the show and I doubt they would want to mess with a successful format too much.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 06/03/2016 18:46

It would survive without her.

But I think it will be a cop out now and be Chummy or Sr M-J.

OP posts:
diddl · 06/03/2016 18:53

I wouldn't miss Trixie at all!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 06/03/2016 18:58

Neither would I, diddl.

Is it too much to hope it is Shelagh?

(Sorry Thread-Shelagh)

OP posts:
Alohamora · 06/03/2016 19:04

I hadn't thought of that Anne Shock

BennyTheBall · 06/03/2016 19:05

Chummy wore a blue 2 piece suit for her wedding!

I remember her saying she would let her mother pay for it but it couldn't be in white, as she was 'no longer entitled'.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 06/03/2016 19:06

Didn't Chummy get marred in a suit?
