Oh I thought lily would have went, I didn't like hers at all. I liked the green, my house was all green until a few month ago.

Wolpertinger · 15/02/2016 20:06

Which was the guy who didn't know what traditional Scandinavian was? He should have gone for that alone. He was lucky the homeowner liked it.

Suspect the green didn't work when you were in it - they commented on it looking like a paint card. I live in an old house and you end up sticking to Farrow and Ball just because the colours work in a way Dulux doesn't. Hard to explain but the modern mixes just look wrong.

Hadron21 · 15/02/2016 20:06

Rachel had great potential. I think she will be one to watch. She just had something about her! Pity we couldn't see more of her.

OTheHugeManatee · 15/02/2016 20:32

I loathed Lily's room. I thought is was claustrophobic and really out of keeping with the building. And I hate all that 'craft' shite.

squiz81 · 15/02/2016 21:16

I'm still watching (though I know who goes as in saw the result in a comment on Sophie robinsons IG post, grrr)

My main comment so far is if Jamie says 'kind of' once more I will be throwing something at the TV!!!

cosmicglittergirl · 15/02/2016 21:32

I thought Lily was the weakest, although I loved her own house.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 15/02/2016 23:23

Slighty more talent this week but again I didn't really like any of the rooms Confused Loved Lily's own house too, but not the room she styled.

SheHasAWildHeart · 16/02/2016 00:16

Lily's room had lots of horrible mismatched badly made stuff in it n it didn't come together cohesively. Rachel had potential. Also shows that despite the show making a big deal of the first round of judging (how well they pitch to the client) has no bearing on the end result.

Brokenbiscuit · 16/02/2016 00:38

Just marking my place for tomorrow, having finally found this thread. Personally, I like Frankie from the first week best so far!

annandale · 16/02/2016 06:55

I agree with the 'exhausting' comment, I felt stressed just looking at Lily's room. it looked overwhelming and stuffed full of crap things. However, I also thought it looked nearest to an interior designed room and I think she may do well overall.

I loved Sarah's rooms, thought the homeowner should have let her get on with it, wonder if he were pushed to throw a spanner in the works. I thought the lad would go but it did improve towards the end, and I'm so happy that Rachel has gone because she was so determined to override her homeowner in every respect...

OTheHugeManatee · 16/02/2016 07:56

Imagine if there'd been a designer-off between Rachel and the toothy one with the lipstick and dog wallpaper from the previous heat Shock

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2016 08:13

Jamie 's only 21 Shock I was surprised he did as well as he did really.

Curly girl didn't want to stay in it anyway. You'd think they might watch the programme they want to go on BEFORE they apply to be on it!!!!

That comment by Rachel about green being a relevant colour in the cottage because it's surrounded by grass was crackers! It's like saying because your house is surrounded by roads make it grey inside with orangey lighting like the neons outside!

Was it Lily who crucified that beautiful little desk by blotting out the lovely wood with plain blue? YEUCH

SmaDizietSma · 16/02/2016 08:25

I like Frankie the best so far. It's been less clear cut for me since then.

I think a batman room is a hard pitch against a grown up room but overall the wrong person won.

Not keen on anyone so far this week.

OTheHugeManatee · 16/02/2016 08:37

It was Rachel who murdered the little desk Angry

SwedishEdith · 16/02/2016 09:59

I thought Rachel's just looked like a Next makeover.

I didn't like Lily's but, I think, she's stayed to see if she can do anything else. She's clearly get "ideas".

I like the green rooms though - think he should have given it a go for a while. But agree with woman presenter that a stone coloured-ceiling may have been better than white.

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2016 10:24

Thanks OTheHuge Glad you agree about the desk, If I were the client I'd be sanding it back to wood IMMEDIATELY . I get confused with the names Blush , my excuse is Oklahoma was on 320 and I watched it because I couldn't record it , so recorded the Interiors programme and turned back to it in the ads.

What was funny was the fact one of the rooms was already red, and the judges scarcely commented.

cosmicglittergirl · 16/02/2016 10:27

I'm extra excited as tonight it's set in Walthamstow where I live!

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2016 10:35

cosmicglitter MIL used to live there ! I thought I recognised the houses, not Crouch End then?

cosmicglittergirl · 16/02/2016 10:41

Well I thought Crouch End at first when they said North London, (used to live there too), but I had a look at Radio Times online and it's definitely Walthamstow.

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2016 10:45

Yes maybe the same architect got to both places! There are some places in London where you don't know if you're North or South if you just look at the houses!!

cosmicglittergirl · 16/02/2016 10:55

Well i used to live in the Warner residents area, so I assumed it was the same thing as the Warner houses in Walthamstow. They are lovely properties.

OTheHugeManatee · 16/02/2016 11:17

Yy stone would have been better than white to keep the 'natural' look on the ceiling. I suspect that green looked better on the TV than in real life - the lighter green could definitely come up a bit plasticky-looking IRL.

People abusing previously attractive wood furniture is one of my pet bugbears. By all means 'upcycle' shitty veneered stuff, or MDF, or stuff with an irreparably damaged surface. But painting over nicely polished wood, with an age patina, in some sugared-almond colour that you then sand so it looks 'distressed'? YOU MUST DIE Angry

SheHasAWildHeart · 16/02/2016 11:40

Anyone been inspired by anything they've seen on the show so far?

SheHasAWildHeart · 16/02/2016 11:41

And what did you all make of Lily painting that fabric footstool?

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2016 11:43

True and that desk had a mix of lovely lighter and darker woods, maybe different types. A real sin.
