Why was there only one bowler hat considering the thousands it cost for a funeral would expect all those from company would have had a hat on.

Come on not another episode no hell for Stacey- she needs drugs and support- it not something gets over in 48 h like a stomach bug

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/01/2016 19:57

Must be hard watching 20thC

Thank god Kat has noticed Stacey

Jean didn't make the funeral then?

And has les always had a wart under his eye? Never noticed it before

Shit ... Tears in my eyes and my bloody heart is beating so fast and loud.

DD ( the one I had before I came poorly) has been to the shop and got me wispa biscuits.... I needed them

LovelyFriend · 19/01/2016 21:19

FFS Anyone would think Stacey had never had a diagnosis!

BlueThursday · 19/01/2016 21:20

I think Jean did go straight to the funeral and came to the Vic after like big Mo and Belinda.

Someone said the other day she and Ollie had been on a cruise so missed seeing the baby (because, of course, he wasn't due yet Wink)

Jean will deal with Stacey I'm certain. The scene about 8 years ago where Jean arranges for Stacey to be sectioned still stays with me it was brilliantly acted I thought.

Charlies funeral was such a joke. What was the point even with the storyline? And how no one has called SS on Stacey i have no idea. She needs help and anyone can see that.

MissBattleaxe · 19/01/2016 23:19

I thought the funeral was clumsily done. They couldn't do the traditional tearful eulogy because of not getting all the Slater sisters so they had Kat addressing a half empty pub which wasn't even the wake.

MagpieCursedTea · 19/01/2016 23:39

Why would they call SS on Stacey? She needs medical help, surely that would be the first thought rather than reporting her to social services.
It's been shown like this for dramatic effect. In reality when you have bipolar and have just given birth, you'd be getting more input from HCPs. I'm sure I saw someone (midwives, HVs, psychiatrist and psychologist) pretty much every day for the first few weeks. The risk of having an episode is high and they monitor very carefully for early warning signs.

I thought Kat was unusually likeable this evening, especially the way she was with Stacey. It was difficult to watch but I thought it was done well.

celeste83 · 19/01/2016 23:43

When i say SS i meant the authorities who can help and treat her. Not sure what authority that would be. Yes the HV would have come round to visit her and baby by now.

MagpieCursedTea · 19/01/2016 23:51

Sorry I might be a bit over sensitive about it! Blush

Youarentkiddingme · 20/01/2016 07:31

Well it is a sensitive topic. Flowers

Personally I think EE seem to be handling it well (apart from obvious lack of HV etc input). They are adding in the storyline for drama but without dramatising it iyswim? I think they need to be as accurate as possible or it just tips over into insulting drama. And by insulting I mean to those who have genuinely suffered such difficulties with their mental health.

celeste83 · 20/01/2016 07:48

I think they need to wrap up this Stacey storyline this week or else its going to become ridiculous the longer it goes on without being seen to get proffessional help. I think they will though as last night seem to be a watershed where everyone on square saw how she is.

BlueSmarties76 · 20/01/2016 09:08

I'm pretty bored of this particular Stacey storyline.

Jean is as annoying as ever. Jean's H is very dull.

Martin is very dull.

Buster is very dull.

I want more Ronnie / Jack / Charlie / Hubbards! Also, will Babe get a good storyline?

celeste83 · 20/01/2016 09:29

I think Babe will carry on lusting after Patrick [shudder]

Eastenders needs some upbeat storys now. What with Stacey's mental problems, Fatboy being killed, Dean rape story, Phil dying, Alfie dying, Phil being an alcoholic, Denny in hospital, Peggy dying, Mick going to have an affair, the continuing Bobby sage.

SymphonyofShadows · 20/01/2016 10:44

I hope Babe goes all Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction on Claudette.

MissBattleaxe · 20/01/2016 10:46

Yes, they need some good news now. Corrie strikes a balance where EE doesn't. When it all gets too heavy, they switch to the Kabin and we see Norris annoying Rita for a bit.

celeste83 · 20/01/2016 10:49

Yeah Eastenders hasn't got a Kabin type place where everyone is light hearted and happy go merry. Maybe the allotment is close to it but no one seems to go there in winter.

Akire · 20/01/2016 10:51

Agree have done great job with showing how Stacey feels in middle of a Health crisis but also surely should show how that condition is supported ie you would never be just left that long. But as been said it's got to kick in soon because this last Xmas week been going on forever.

That's what good about Corrie light hearted shall council spray everyone with water scene it just lifts it rather than doom gloom all time.

Ben got to come out as well mums guessed so have most other people maybe if Phil can face being an alcoholic then he can come out then we can end the abbey saga and she can move to Leicester or wherever and never see her again.

MissBattleaxe · 20/01/2016 11:05

I love when Phil got drunk and called Abby Ben's "whiny girlfriend". Although he's a horrible drunk, he gets some great lines where he tells everyone the truth.

celeste83 · 20/01/2016 11:10

I know i shouldn't have laughed but i thought it was quite funny how Phil sacked Whitney's boyfriend (whos name i always forget) and he did that sneering laugh.

Abby is stupid. How she has not put two and two together yet with everything Phil has been mouthing off about Ben.

LemonBreeland · 20/01/2016 11:36

Abby really is incredibly stupid. Phil has made loads of comments about Ben, but Kathy also commented on his sexuality. Drunk Phil is brilliant and does have some amazing comedy lines.

celeste83 · 20/01/2016 11:53

The best character Eastenders ever had for comedy lines was Andy Hunter who was constantly putting down Sam Mitchell with some hilarious one liners. They need someone on Eastenders with a bit of wit and sense of humour i think. The closest they have really is Masood. Patrick used to be funny but he barely does anything now.

MagpieCursedTea · 20/01/2016 12:51

I think deep down Abbey knows Ben is gay, she's just in denial because her Dad is in prison, her sister left the country and she didn't get into uni. Without Ben she doesn't have anything.
