Morning all. Awake half the night with my throat. Drinking honey and hot lemon now but not got up yet. If I wasn't going to be on hol tomorrow, I probably wouldn't go to work. Feeling sorry for myself. How are Jen and Kelly?

I'm meeting up with a friend who left three years ago to live in Tokyo with her husband (his work) she's back now with the kids (who board?)

Richtea your honey you brought up when we met (seems like sges ago now) is proving very useful at the moment, especially as it's the runny kind and easy to get out of the jar!

Normally I would arrange it ilove but unfortunately he's got himself hooked up in a particularly tight reef knot strapped to a chaise long in my red room and I'm beggared if I'm going to release him

I am mads but unfortunately somehow it's permanently wet and takes an awful lot of blow drying

Lovely sunny day today, but not quite Spanish sun!

Well it's lovely weather here in Lanzarote, low 20s and just enough breeze and cloud to fool me into thinking my pale Irish skin won't frazzle like a pork scratching if I 'forget' the sunscreen

Throats really sore still. DH got me some spray last night and co-codamol so am making full use of those. Think when this throat subsides, a cold will be waiting to take its place. Was late to bed as I thought I wouldn't be able to sleep anyway and when I did it was fitfull and sore any time I had to swallow.

Took car to garage this morning but was there two hours waiting! And it was freezing in the waiting area too.

I could do with CJ putting a smile on my face woof and doing lots of things to warm me up

kelly rubbish about your throat especially with your night away planned. Hope the drugs kick in soon. Unfortunately I think woof is too busy putting a smile on CJs face!

Did you watch the full Outlander first series yet mads?

Yes kelly finished it at the beginning of the week. Really enjoyed it but found the last couple a bit hard to watch. Wouldn't mind trying the books but will wait for a mo as don't seem to have time to read anything at the mo!! When is your mil coming up? Left DS with mine this morning and he cried most of the time he was there

Just checked back in after a few days and looks like I glimpsed good news upthread (I always scroll through quickly in case there have been developments)! I need to go back to Saturday where I left off and read properly!!

I can't wait to start s new thread and add BA to the cast list! Hopefully we may have more by then too

mads yes the last two episodes are hard to watch but Oo I loves me a bit of Jamie Fraser in a kilt

Had a carvery tonight with my friend who's pregnant. Its been years since she had her last baby so it's strange seeing her expecting again but its really lovely though.

mads MIL and FIL is up tomorrow. They're sleeping in our bed (!) for the night we're away as we don't have a spare bedroom.

It is raining cats and dogs here tonight - perfect weather forecast for my weekend away! Think I may have to revise the clothes I am thinking of taking. Throat still sore, despite constant dosing up with Strepsils, swigs of cough mixture, honey and lemon and cups of tea. Hope I get a good night's sleep as the previous two nights have all been disturbed.

Been trying to sort out my electric bill as EON have just upped my direct debit by £30 a month even though the electricity usage is more or less the same as last year. Couldn't sort it online so rang them up but couldn't get through. So frustrating! A few swear words did escape my lips. Think it's time I just went to bed, am feeling grumpy tonight!

kelly my MIL sleeps in our bed when we are on holiday (looks after the cats), I cleared out my bedside drawer, don't know why as nothing to hide!!!

ilove BT did that with our bill, I refused to change my DD as I know we always end up in credit, why should they keep my
Money rather than me!

Richtea how on earth can you budget when they keep changing the DD. I probably won't have time to ring them tomorrow but will do it on Sunday when I am feeling less grumpy (I hope).

My elderly neighbour (who I looked after and called the emergency doctor) is ill again. This will be the third time he's had this cough - he's off to the doctor tomorrow. I haven't asked if his daughters know about it this time. I am expecting that the doctor will send him for a chest x-ray.

Its Sat night mads we're away. Oh yes good call. I'll have to hide the picture!

rich Ditto. I'll be very paranoid when they stay. I'll make sure DH hides anything private or whatever.

Weather sounds very bad for Scotland this weekend. Just caught the forecast. Going to be windy round the north too.

Hope you start to feel better ilove. Did you say you had throat spray? I tried using that but its difficult to get your angle right. More often then not, I've ended up with a numb tongue than numb throat.
