Tom Chambers' showdance was the best ever, although Louis Smith's was memorable too, but only for his amazing gymnastic moves rather than the overall choreography. Yes, maybe the showdance should be ditched: that, or give them more time to prepare something really noteworthy.

SpinachJelly · 19/12/2015 20:44

You're right - the show does seem flat. I'm sooo disappointed😢

KurriKurri · 19/12/2015 20:45

There's no consistency in the judges pick either - some people get their worse dance (Jay, maybe Georgia?) Kellie got a dance she did fine the first time round but was an 'early' dance and Katie got a dance that definitely wasn't her worst - she did that dreadful Pretty woman' latin one- Give them all their lowest scoring dance or at least have some across the board criterion for the choice.
Or better still - give them a dance they did well in, then we can have a final of all good dances.

Behooven · 19/12/2015 20:47

"Lack of support for middle aged women" but Kellie is in her 30s! That's not middle aged Shock

I like G and G the best. Georgia has been more versatile, great at both Latin and Ballroom, Kellie is all comedy value and character acting.

Dipankrispaneven · 19/12/2015 20:47

I liked Jay's dance - the little references to previous dances were very clever, and I loved the fact that it ended with the jive steps.

MegCleary · 19/12/2015 20:48

I loved Artem and Natalie's show dance last year and have watched it many times on you tube

SheHasAWildHeart · 19/12/2015 20:49

Lol at "Not sure about G and G's - felt a bit uncomfortable with the 'you're blind I'll fix you' bit - do blind people need fixing?"
I think the dance was more metaphorical than that and not meant like that.

Voted once for k&k, and twice for G&G

MiniCooperLover · 19/12/2015 20:50

Kellie is 39, so not too far off. Either way both their dances were very high energy and exciting. The others were just dull really ...

Dipankrispaneven · 19/12/2015 20:50

I thought Kellie said she was 39 the other day?

GlitteryRollers · 19/12/2015 20:50

James Jordan is very astute. I dont like him, but his observations are usually fair and correct.

pinkteddy · 19/12/2015 20:53

Kellie is 39 - I'd say that's fairly middle aged especially with regard to TV.

emotionsecho · 19/12/2015 20:54

MaryFlynn I just don't like Kevin, nothing to do with a Grimsby and I don't agree that he is a clever or exceptional choreographer or dancer. Nearly all the dances he has choreographed this series have been 'comedic' and very 'samey', I don't find him a 'wow' dancer that you can't take your eyes off.

I have nothing against Kellie nor middle aged women, but she isn't wowing me and her work schedule is irrelevant - if it was a problem then the BBC need to organise better.

Fiderer · 19/12/2015 20:54

Maybe the fact that the standard was high from the beginning and the marks too meant that we were expecting to go from "Oh good" to "oh wow" and that hasn't happened.

Because the curve wasn't as steep & now we're expecting fireworks where there weren't any to be had.

I didn't like Kellie's dances tonight. I didn't like the music for the Tango, I thought it really didn't go, and I didn't like Kellie's grimacing (and Kevin was just as bad).

I thought their showdance was lively and fun, but lacked finesse. I would have thought it a bit rough and ready for a standard show, that really isn't my idea of a showdance (though what do I know).

I found it rather irritating therefore that the judges gave them perfect marks.

On the other hand, I did think that Jay was moving lyrically, Georgia's showdance was moving and first dance was very sensual and I liked the concept for Katie's showdance.

So I voted for everyone except Kellie.

lovefairylights · 19/12/2015 20:57

Just checking in - watching with about 1 hour delay. Feels a bit flat - am disappointed. No one standing out for me...

Secondtimeround75 · 19/12/2015 20:58

lets see what the last hour bringsXmas Hmm

SheHasAWildHeart · 19/12/2015 21:00

Just checked a few online polls and it looks very close between them all (except Katie).

SpinachJelly · 19/12/2015 21:00

Go Jay!

Queenbean · 19/12/2015 21:01

Georgia is in her Chicago outfit!! Yessssss, that will be a 10 scorer!

SheHasAWildHeart · 19/12/2015 21:01

Imagine if Kelly wins and she she is dressed like that!
Wish Tess and Claudia had worn some lovely ball gowns tonight.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/12/2015 21:01

Tess looks fabulous in that suit. She should wear them more often.

ChoccyJules · 19/12/2015 21:02

I also didn't care for the 'fix the blind person' vibe from Team GG' sorry if it was meant to be deeper than that, not for me.

I thought Jay and Aliona were trying to showcase him and just forgot to make it snazzy enough, thought the judges were a bit harsh on them.

I found K&K OK, clearly fast and more interesting but she was patently not as quick as him (felt like Jill Halfpenny would have been but am I looking back with rose-tinted specs?!).

Despite the obvious skill gulf from the other three, I enjoyed Katie's show dance, maybe it was the music, liked the (rough) fall at the end.

The dance teacher here among us has changed his vote to K&K - going on tonight's dances.

MiniCooperLover · 19/12/2015 21:02

Why did the presenters bother changing outfits when it's clearly all on the same night ??

UnGoogleable · 19/12/2015 21:04

My verdict so far - underwhelming.

Jay & A were dull.
G&G were lovely, but dull.
K&K - brilliant
K&A - totally out of their depth.

SpinachJelly · 19/12/2015 21:04

Now - just nail it Jay.
