ooh good, rock chick and very snappy!

Rhubarb01 · 28/11/2015 19:55

Always think this is tough for the male celebrity as they have to lead.

orphan · 28/11/2015 20:33

richtea I love Matthew Bourne ballets! I think we've seen most of them (dp even cried at Swan Lake!!) and I've even gone as far as hanging round the stage door afterwards, using dd as an excuse of course. It'll be nice though to see a traditional ballet this year. I tried to get Royal Ballet tickets but it's pretty much sold out. Oh, and I must be going senile cos I've just checked my booking and the tickets are for after Christmas not before. So looks like I'll need something else to get me in the mood... Rupe wearing jingle bells and not much else?

Nickel45 · 28/11/2015 20:48

kuia just read your last chapter, you have really captured the scene well, it's amazing how you have expanded (is that the right word?) their feelings and thoughts, absolutely brilliant. It must have been realky scary to have had your son in France, just thinking about it. I'm up in London next week and a bit nervous about it. I feel really pathetic, I used to work up there and travel up every day, so don't know why it's bothering me, it'll be fine though, I'm sure.

Missed SCD again, they really don't schedule it well enough around kids bedtime! Instead we have been watching Rio just before bed each night (we had Ice Age 3 for the past few months, so beyond relieved that we have moved onto something else!).

Sounds like you have all had good days today. I was doing tattoos as a church fair, which was good fun, and we have our school fair next week. Still not feeling particularly Christmassy though, and really need to get motivated to do some shopping! Did discover one of our local shops does the whole Christmas dinner package for 8 for £100, feeling a bit tempted to indulge, but not sure if I can justify spending so much to get out of peeling veg!!!!

MaddieMoo82 · 28/11/2015 21:39

Evening all. Also missed SCD due to bedtime routine. Will try and catch up tomorrow before results show.

ilove sil regulary dresses as a fairy it's one of the things she does. No one has ever really questioned why so I keep my mouth shut. But got there today and no fairy wings, glitter or tulle skirts as she is too pregnant for her outfit Grin I'm glad as meant I didn't need to compose myself! All went well apart from the awkward bit when they found out we weren't planning on spending Xmas with them Confused. DP 'forgot' to tell them..... Hmm
rhu loved your last chapter it was so good. Also re-read perhaps during the night when couldn't sleep.... Fab!
kelly you are super organised putting the tree up. Really not feeling xmassy at the mo but will try and get organised next week.... Maybe!
Although annoyed with DP. He has spent £17 ordering the boxing from
Box office and promptly fell asleep after to many ciders at the party. Grrrrr Angry

Ilovelblue · 28/11/2015 21:48

My elderly neighbour put his tree up yesterday. When I commented (as I do every year) that it seems a little early, his response is always that he does it for his children, who are 50 and 47! He does it for himself but it's always so tacky, it makes me cringe. Am constantly surprised that he never puts blow up Father Christmases on the roof, he takes it to extremes! Mind you, he is 78 and might struggle getting up on the roof.

Maddie I didn't actually think your SIL would dress up as a fairy, I was just thinking lots of pink and maybe a tiara or something!

MaddieMoo82 · 28/11/2015 21:53

No ilove proper fairy! She also goes to a fairy festival every year.... I don't understand it and probably never will!!

MaddieMoo82 · 28/11/2015 21:57

Sorry to any other fairy goers that I may have offended Hmm

Ilovelblue · 28/11/2015 22:00

Well, I've never heard of a fairy festival before... you learn something new every day!

pixieg1rl · 28/11/2015 22:13

Last time I dressed as a fairy I was pissed at a 21st birthday party. I styled myself on Mavis Cruet.

I see ice has been quiet today. Hope she's been keeping CJ occupied in her bunker!

Very wet weather forecast again for tomorrow so I have no excuse to avoid writing my Christmas cards, have I?

Ilovelblue · 28/11/2015 22:29

If we're talking Christmas, I love this joke - it makes me smile every time. It's perhaps a bit early but hey!

What if 3 Wise Men were Women?

What would have happened if it had been three Wise Women instead of
three Wise Men?

They would have asked directions,
arrived on time,
helped deliver the baby,
cleaned the stable,
made a casserole,
and brought practical gifts.

But what they would have said when they left...?

"Did you see the sandals Mary was wearing with that gown?"
"That baby doesn't look anything like Joseph!"
"Virgin, my arse! I knew her in school!"
"Can you believe that they let all of those disgusting animals in the house?"
"I heard that Joseph isn't even working right now!"
"And that donkey that they are riding has seen better days too!"
"Want to bet on how long it will take until you get your casserole dish back?"

KellyHb · 29/11/2015 00:15

Completely missed SCD as put trees up and decorations. Kids were very excited and took them ages to calm down enough to go to bed!

New tree looks lovely but I think I might have slightly under estimated the size of it. Its blimmin huge! We've had to move some furniture into the conservatory to make space for it in the living room! It took us a good hour just to spread the leaves out. DH joked its the kind of tree you'd see on Downton Abbey. Its not that bad but its done now anyway. Hmm

Yes ilove it is early for us to have the tree up. Its normally beg of December but with boys being testy this week, I thought let's do something to cheer us up.

Lovely tickets orph. I'd love to see a ballet esp Swan Lake.

mads a fairy festival's a new one on me too. Sounds like a nice time you had anyway.

Oo yes nickel indulge! I would love to do something like that for Xmas Day.

MaddieMoo82 · 29/11/2015 07:15

Morning all! Your Xmas decorations sounds lovely kelly. Ordered my tree during night feeds last night... The internet is a dangerous place when you are tired!
Just read the bbc have adapted war and peace for tv. Should be interesting snd they have apparent ramped it up with nudity and QS! Woo Smile

pixieg1rl · 29/11/2015 07:25

I leave the tree as long as possible, I aim for the weekend before Xmas. My mum used to wait until Xmas eve. I have so much tidying to do just to clear a space for the tree.

I should probably get presents sorted for people other than DS as well

Ilovelblue · 29/11/2015 08:31

Morning all. It's absolutely p*ssing it down again. Much more of this and the animals will start lining up two by two.

I leave my decorations till a week or so before Christmas. I keep them up till 6 Jan so get fed up if they're around from early Dec.

My eldetly neighbour has a lovely holly tree with plenty of berries so I might nab some this morning and put it in a vase with some trailing ivy. Might get me in the mood for doing the cards.

I

Richtea19 · 29/11/2015 09:00

kelly you've inspired me to go in the loft today and get all the decs down. I don't think we will put them up but I can see what we have. I did order a oasis wreath so I can make my own for the front door this year. We have a eucalyptus tree and a fir tree in the garden so I thought I would give it a go, should be a laugh!

Worried about Gleb and Anitia tonight, bottom of the leader board!

My heart sank when you mentioned Christmas cards ilove- quite possibly the worst ever job.

Onlygirljen · 29/11/2015 09:06

I'm so unorganised for Christmas it's unreal. I know it's bad times when himself starts hassling me that we need to get organised. Eldest is 9 in just over a week and I'm barely even sorted for that Confused

rich I think Anita has enough public support to keep her out of the dance off. I reckon it'll be Kellie and Peter battling it out. Felt really sorry for Anita last night, she was obviously way out of her comfort zone but I still thought it was a beautiful dance.

orphan · 29/11/2015 09:17

Morning! We don't buy the tree until about the 20th then it's a tradition that dp spends a good hour swearing like a trooper trying to get it vertical in the bucket/clamp contraption.

Yes make your wreath richtea - I think homemade ones are usually nicer. Having said that if I made ours it would be rubbish which is why dp does it. Instead of oasis, he made a willow wreath as a base, then weaves holly, Christmas tree trimmings, mistletoe and rosemary into it.

Lazy day planned today with maybe a little light online present shopping then Pizza Express and maybe a family cinema trip tonight. Funny to think this time last year I was waiting out for the OG dvd which ds had promised to buy me for Christmas!

orphan · 29/11/2015 09:27

maddie your SIL sounds very interesting. Does she get to sit on top of her Christmas tree? I love the fact that no one questions why she dresses up, but there again no one bats an eye when woof goes shopping in her Wolf fleece, Davy Crocket hat with racoon tail, and tennis racquets strapped to her feet as snow shoes.Confused

KellyHb · 29/11/2015 09:56

Morning all.

Normally we put our tree up couple of weeks before Christmas. Now to hope the boys don't pull anything down from it. Shock

Hope Anita is saved this week as I love her and Gleb. Agree Jen that they have a lot of public support.

Your wreath making sounds lovely rich. I love Christmas wreaths.

Sounds like you've got a lovely day planned orph. We went to Pizza Express the other week and it was really nice.

One twin's been up coughing most of the night again so we've only had a couple of hours sleep. Twin's lying on the settee really tired and we're trying to tempt to have some breakfast. Confused

Ilovelblue · 29/11/2015 10:43

I reckon it will be Peter Andre who goes tonight. Gleb is too popular with the female voters no idea why.

Dizzydots · 29/11/2015 11:57

Hello all [smiles]
On the Christmas tree/ decoration debate, my DH and I both have pre Christmas December birthdays so we tend to wait until they're done before getting too carried away. December birthdays can get rather swamped by Christmas, but as a youngster I used to love it as my birthday falls right in party season and there was always lots is social going on.
I have booked a wreath making workshop this year, which should be festive, seasonal drinks, nibbles and choice of materials - think I'm going to try and make a heart shape though as I'm not too keen on the traditional wreath.
Hope all you littlest recover today kel and enjoy your stately home tree, more room underneath for Santa to leave heaps of gifts [santa]

icemistOBE · 29/11/2015 13:23

Oh what a 24 hrs, been re-acquainting myself with the delights of CJ he can be so masterful Wink My bunker has never seen so much activity.... When does he have to leave?

And in RL two houses on our street have their Xmas trees up!!! Madness! Been to asda, blowing a gale here so naturally both boys are running round with just s nappy/undies on (not in asda)

MaddieMoo82 · 29/11/2015 13:53

Sounds like your having a lovely time ice Grin
Food shop done. Blowing a hooly here too but it's drying my waching lovely. Watching the tennis then popping over to see my mum and dad. Very jealous of your pizza express and cinema afternoon orph sounds fab. Asked DP about sil once and he told me she likes fairies.... That justifies it so never asked again!
