Corrie thread - we haven't even got a dog storyline to keep us going now

A new thread as we head towards the worst part of every soap year - Christmas.

Dreading the return of Simon.

Dreading more of the arr Gareh & Alya "plot".

When did the brewery close and become a convenient empty garage?

Make yourself at home and get ready for more totally hopeless acting - it has to improve soon, surely?

Saw the beginning tonight, Michael, Good Samaritan, yawn. Switched off tv.

Ladytron11 · 19/12/2015 14:34

I must say I am enjoying the return of Rob and his prison cell-angst!
Wink

Rachel0Greep · 19/12/2015 16:40

I'm delighted to see Rob back too. I was sorry to see him leave, used to love his interaction with Deirdre, (RIP), in particular, when he and Tracy moved in with her.

unimaginativename13 · 19/12/2015 18:27

Doesn't seem they are related but bother characters are played by twins.

SymphonyofShadows · 20/12/2015 07:16

Why do we have to have the money story on top of the Hope illness one? It's grim enough already.

southeastdweller · 20/12/2015 09:12

Rob and his mind games have been the only good things about the episodes these last couple of weeks. He should never have been written out (I think he's only in it now for a short time). It was a stupid decision of the soon-to-be ex-producer to have Rob kill Tina.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/12/2015 09:55

Christmas or New Year DNA results?

Rachel0Greep · 20/12/2015 22:26

I think Rob wanted to leave, at that time. He was a big loss, IMO. I hope that they get him out of prison, for some reason or another. Grin

MrsUltra · 21/12/2015 18:12

Haven't watched since the summer, so a load of new characters it seems, but no improvement in the storylines Sad Only looked at Monday's on catch up because apparently there was a character called Joanne in it played by the daughter of Kenneth Cope who used to be a hero of mine. Saw no character of that name and could not be bothered to go back more slowly.
No desire to start watching again, and I was the show's greatest fan Sad

snowypenguin · 21/12/2015 18:40

I have missed a few episodes. Can someone bring me up to date about rob coming back in?

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 21/12/2015 20:11

I like Rob Blush and hope he comes back as a regular!

BTW, does anyone (besides Tracey and me) find Ken's new girlfriend really annoying? She is so overly familiar, making comments about things that are none of her business. She and Ken are such a mismatch. Are they setting this relationship up to show Ken what he is missing by not being with Audrey? What a load of rubbish!

Rachel0Greep · 21/12/2015 21:46

Yes, she is very annoying, I agree. Also, she seems to have forgotten her son. Or at least, he never gets a mention anyway.

millimat · 21/12/2015 22:01

Who's son?

theliverpoolone · 21/12/2015 22:05

I forgot she had a son! (just like she has)

southeastdweller · 21/12/2015 22:25

On the subject of characters forgetting they have children, I hardly ever hear Michelle talk about either of her two Ryan's.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 21/12/2015 22:33

Why why why does Ken not get a bigger sofa ?

Seeyounearertime · 21/12/2015 23:13

Why does ken not just use the front room? Smile

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 22/12/2015 00:53

I think it (Ken's front room) was Uncle Albert's and then Blanche's bedroom for many years. Maybe he hasn't cleared it out yet.

Most who reside in the traditional terraces use the backrooms as their sitting rooms (the exceptions being Kirk and co and Dev - sorry, can't remember any more). Kirk and Dev's houses do seem smaller though (no front room, straight into the sitting room from the street, stairs in the sitting room then small kitchen / pantry out the back). I thought all the houses on that side would have exactly the same dimensions (or am I being thick)? Grin

brittanyfairies · 22/12/2015 07:07

Amy's bedroom is in ken's front room

Seeyounearertime · 22/12/2015 07:17

I think ty and fiz have a front room too?
Or at least they have a little hall at the bottom of the stairs where the phone table is. I remember it from bonfire night when the little kids came down the stairs and stood at the front door to go watch fireworks.
(How sad is it that the only thing about Corrie worth discussing is house layout? Lol)

eddiemairswife · 22/12/2015 08:55

Luke sleeps in Fiz and Ty's front room doesn't he? Corriepedia helpfully tells about various alterations that have been made to each house, but doesn't explain the bedroom situation at Eileen's.

Woodhill · 22/12/2015 09:28

yes they all have front parlours so to speak which are now bedrooms. I am not convinced they are 3 beds upstairs either i.e. Dev's as traditionally these would be 2 up 2 down houses.

How they wouldn't all kill each other living on top of each other in one back room I don't know.

Also where do all the coats, wet washing, shoes live etc and where is all the clutter??

Clawdy · 22/12/2015 09:52

Last night's episodes were beyond boring. Like lots of people I now don't really care about any of the characters any more, and that's sad.

millimat · 22/12/2015 10:05

I have managed to while away far to much time reading on corriepedia about the houses Blush. Devs and chesneys were converted into one larger room ( I am so old I remember it too) but all the others still have a front room. Curly used to live in devs house and he converted the attic into an observatory, so maybe its now another bedroom for the whole street to share Grin

eddiemairswife · 22/12/2015 10:28

And they were originally 3-bedroom, no bathroom, outside lavatory.
