Brian Blessed? Grin

Willie Apiata got a VC in Afghan for doing something very similar to Molly's rescues in Episode 1 and 4. Carried a wounded mate out through heavy fire with no thought of his own safety. He comes from a very underprivileged background, about as much education as Molly. Is a real cult figure here now. Has left the army, become something of a recluse, developing vehicles to take hunting pigs and deer in the bush. Comes out every now and then when the Rugby is good, hates too much attention.
I always think of him when I see Sohail.

I love Brian Blessed. Very funny.

MaddieMoo82 · 23/10/2015 08:38

Ooh jen save laceybirds chapter till you have a bit of quiet time!Wink

KellyHb · 23/10/2015 09:13

Morning all.

Absolutely blimmin freezing here today. Couldn't get DD to wear her hat and scarf though. In her words 'in case it messed her hair up'. Confused

Good pic Jen and sounds like you're having a fab time in that there London.

I can't wait for when the kids are older and I can venture further than the house, school and Asda and actually visit different CJ places ie: London, Bath, outside of Brize Norton..Hmm

I was thinking about reading Laceybird's whole story again this morning. Think I'm a bit obsessed with it.

pixieg1rl · 23/10/2015 09:20

So tired. DS up coughing all night. Now to fit 6 hours work into 4 so I can knock off early and get the house clean, tidy, presentable for BIL & family who are visiting this weekend.

MaddieMoo82 · 23/10/2015 09:20

kelly I'll meet you at brize. We can walk round the perimeter fences and try and perv at anyone in uniform Wink

KellyHb · 23/10/2015 09:44

Sorry you didn't get a good nights kip pix. I hate it when all these cough and cold bugs go round. Hope you and DS have a better night tonight. Enjoy the fam visit! We get stressed straight away when any of his family visit. Confused

Sounds like a plan mads. Have you watched the SAS programme yet?

MaddieMoo82 · 23/10/2015 09:50

No going to try and watch it today Smile

pixieg1rl · 23/10/2015 09:53

I need to be a more gracious hostess this time. I just hate bloody cooking for everyone.

Luckily they will be out most of tomorrow while I have to take DS to a 5 year olds birthday party. Then I can make a big pan of something with mince and make everyone watch strictly in the evening.

Onlygirljen · 23/10/2015 10:05

Feeling your pain pix, we've had coughing hell with youngest for last 2 weeks every night (obviously when I phoned this morning he'd been fine for the one night I'm not there!! Hmm). Hope he gets well soon and work / visitors not too stressful.

Meant to say mads glad you enjoyed the Martian - saw it last week, enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would!

Is the brize perving visit an open invitation?! Smile

Work stuff almost done with, going to try and get some London sights for a change later since my trips here are usually restricted to office - pub - office!!

KellyHb · 23/10/2015 10:11

Oh yes jen an open invitation indeed but I need to warn whoever goes that I'm going to take a folding chair with a built in cup holder as I'll be in it for the a good few hours stare and not going anywhere. Binoculars as well obvs.

Lucky you Jen. If I was in London one of the first places I'd go would be the National Portrait Gallery after Nespresso Shop naturally.

pixieg1rl · 23/10/2015 10:18

Urgh, 2 weeks coughing sounds awful Jen. Frequency and duration of coughs/colds have really improved since he's got his asthma diagnosis and treatment plan so I can't complain. Poor kid is shattered and so ready for half term. I expect tough week as he succumbs to cold and tiredness in time to make a recovery for the return to school.

Sounds like you had a good night; are you flying home tonight? If not the British Army are playing New Zealand at Twickenham this evening which could be rather entertaining Wink. I take it woof's restraining order is still in effect so she won't be able to go in person.

KellyHb · 23/10/2015 10:32

Ah so pix your DS is a frequent user of inhalers like mine then.

Ilovelblue · 23/10/2015 10:41

Maddie, Jen and Kelly. When my friend and I were on our winter break earlier this year (one night in Bath and two in Stow), we went into the village where Brize Norton is. Quite by mistake (honestly, it was a mistake), I drove along a road thinking it was the way out of the village and it was in fact the gates into the site! I only realised when I noted the guard had a gun. To be fair, he only looked about 12, a little boy dressed up as Action Man! When the penny dropped as to what I'd done, I had to stop and reverse and the 12 year old wondered why two hormonal women were falling about laughing. What I'm trying to say is that there wasn't much decent material worth perving at!

cjwoofwoof · 23/10/2015 10:42

Morning! Great article dizzy in which I even get a mention Grin I'm somewhat disappointed dear Idris has been voted off as he's my No.1 choice, but AT of course can more than fill his -cuppage-- boots for sure. Somewhat alarmed to see Tom Hardy has ditched the Martin Clunes look and opted for King George V instead Confused Suffice to say His Majesty won't be getting my vote.

kuia what a lovely hairy bear of a specimen he is. I've been pondering for the last 20 minutes whether the whole body is as furry as his head, and it's certainly kept me busy in my imaginings Wink And a hero to boot - lovely!

Alas you're right, pix I can't be at the rugby tonight in Twickenham as I'm still not allowed within a 20-mile radius of any military personnel in sports kit. The British Justice System, Police and MOD are defo in collusion if you ask me coz I can't even get entry dressed as orph in her wolf fleece, rain hat and best crimpelene slacks with sewn in front seam Sad Good luck with the family visit, let me know if you want any tips on family-sized microwave meals or a-million-and-one-things-to-do-with-Mince recipes Grin

Dizzydots · 23/10/2015 11:03

Yes I rather liked the idea of a razor-tight battle between AT and Fastandbendy and knew you'd appreciate the ppp (potent power of Poldark) Grin Seriously though CJ would be perfect, no competition.

moojangles · 23/10/2015 11:05

ilove you need to get your timing right for Brize perving, am happy to host!

cjwoofwoof · 23/10/2015 11:07

Ditto to that dizzy but oh to be the Judge with the final say-so on who gets the 007 gig. Never mind Barbara Broccoli, I quite fancy being Connie Cabbage with a very soiled napkin by the time I'd finished with them on my casting couch...

Ilovelblue · 23/10/2015 11:08

Ooooh mooj there's an offer! We were sorely disappointed, I have to say, even though it was unintentional to be so close! 12 year olds do not float my boat! I'll let you know if we make it down there again.

MaddieMoo82 · 23/10/2015 11:42

Yup open invitation to brize perving. kelly the chair sounds like a good idea. I will also have climbing gear to scale fence, sexy underwear for once I'm over the fence and those m and s crisps to snack on whilst perving! Wink

MaddieMoo82 · 23/10/2015 11:43

And yes jen the Martian really was fab and forgot how good an actor Matt Damon is. It's a fab book as well apparently.

LolaKent14 · 23/10/2015 13:18

I was in the nespresso shop yesterday with friends buying their coffee. Was in Soho for lunch and on full beanie/ baseball cap back to front alert but to no avail.
Although lovely lunch and fun afternoon.
An actress passed me but can I think of her name or what she's been in.... No I can't!

pixieg1rl · 23/10/2015 14:00

Did you see a drunk Jen stumbling past Lola?

Ilovelblue · 23/10/2015 14:06

Nickel what do they call the little Scotsman in Bluestone 42? I did an induction for somebody this morning and I kept thinking he reminded me of somebody. About two hours later (whilst in the supermarket) I remembered it was the little Glaswegian guy from BS42. I had said to the guy who was having the induction that he reminded me of somebody. I do hope he didn't think it was a bad chat up line.

Nickel45 · 23/10/2015 14:11

ilove it was Mac (And the taller one was Rocket). Not sure you would want to chat him up though Wink, I'd go for Nick Medhurst or Towerblock, at a push (if I could get past him being Nevile Longbottom!)
