ITV’s six episode thriller series Unforgotten from former ITV drama executives Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes’ fledgling indie Mainstreet Pictures will premiere on Thursday October 8th at 9pm, it has been announced.

Penned by Undeniable scribe Chris Lang, Unforgotten tells the story of an 39 year old cold investigation into the murder of a boy who was killed in 1976. The modern day investigation is run by DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan, who must re-examine the evidence and investigate the key suspects – Robert Greaves, Frank Philip Cross, Lizzie Wilton and Eric Slater – in order to close the case. The series utilises a multi-stranded narrative, set in different parts of the country, which explores and connects each of the principle characters.

The six-parter is produced by Mainstreet Pictures and features a large cast that includes Sanjeev Bhaskar (The Kumars), Nicola Walker (Last Tango In Halifax), Trevor Eve (Waking The Dead), Bernard Hill (The Grid), Ruth Sheen (Our Girl), Tom Courtenay (The Dresser), Gemma Jones (Marvellous), Brian Bovell (Death in Paradise), Cherie Lunghi (Casualty), Hannah Gordon (Hustle), Claire Goose (Mount Pleasant) Tamzin Malleson (Midsomer Murders), Peter Egan (Downton Abbey), and Frances Tomelty (Catastrophe). Ripper Street helmer Andy Wilson was the director.

I also wonder if Jimmy went to Slater (as the hostel bookkeeper) to ask for money after his had been stolen and Slater wanted something in return (am thinking about the gay bar assault) and it all went wrong.

I've been wondering about Slater having an unrequited interest in Jimmy. Your theory sounds very plausible.

I'm expecting the new victim to be a connected, historical victim, rather than a current day witness/suspect (I'll be disappointed if the writer is being deliberately ambiguous with the word 'victim').

Oooh ---- oooh fascicle, we have flashback pictures for Eric Slater!

Do these look like unrequited love?

Thank you, sadwidow. The last link isn't working for me, but the flashback images are interesting. Looks like a friendly smile from Jimmy - if only we could see Jimmy's view of Eric Slater at the window!

Who is the next victim? [end of episode 4]

Have I missed something?

OP posts:
quirkychick · 05/11/2015 21:08

Oh yes, Eric Slater and a buried body.

quirkychick · 05/11/2015 21:11

I assume it's the alleged body in the woods. But who? Someone else from the hostel maybe.

Cerseirys · 05/11/2015 21:13

So they haven't found the body in the woods yet but they've already arrested Eric? Can they do that?

987flowers · 05/11/2015 21:15

He hasn't been arrested, she said he was free to go but they would like him to help with their enquiries!

sadwidow28 · 05/11/2015 21:17

Eric Slater 'buried a body in the copse' according to Claire Slater.

Is this possible?

As for Sir Philip breaking down in tears because he is about to be found out..... Nah! I am not buying it. Shirley (wife) isn't squeaky clean IMO.

Floundering · 05/11/2015 21:20

I think they know there's another body becasue of Eric's son reporting what his mum has said, but they don't know for sure who it is.

Oooh maybe Lizzie;s son.?

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/11/2015 21:23

And that's why Eric didn't want to leave coz there's a body

And yes vicar stole the money - but we knew that - least he didn't kill racquel/Church secretary

And glad LIZZIE didn't kill herself but why is she sorry and why go back to living on the streets and drinking :(

quirkychick · 05/11/2015 21:25

Omg, how exciting is this? So, definitely another body...

quirkychick · 05/11/2015 21:27

Well, we were right about why Eric couldn't leave his house and about Father Rob siphoning off the money. Don't think his family are going to forgive him in a hurry.

Floundering · 05/11/2015 21:28

Poor Lizzie

And I feel sorry for Erics son -he so wanted to believe his mum had got it wrong, and his dad was not a murderer.

gingercat12 · 05/11/2015 21:35

What was Sir Philip saying to his daughter about his wife and the Fenwicks? Our Sky box froze for 5 minutes.

ateacupofgin · 05/11/2015 21:35

This thread is ace Smile
I have had same thoughts re Eric and the gay bar, I wonder also if the £50 loan was repaid by his house being used for burials - to repay the debt - it's a good location with woods etc. he's violent but might not have nude red the buried body.

ateacupofgin · 05/11/2015 21:36

the body. Fat fingers. Small phone...

quirkychick · 05/11/2015 21:41

So that's Gordon Fenwick gone, then.

They have a wallet - who is it?

987flowers · 05/11/2015 21:42

What did sir Philip pay the Turkish people to do and to who? Have they said yet and I've missed it or is it still unknown to us?

Floundering · 05/11/2015 21:42

Oooo the net is gathering in & I still have no bloody clue!!! Grin
