I think we all know that one woof

orphan · 18/08/2015 17:36

The French Resistance was a bit of a misnomer as far as woof was concerned. There certainly wasn't much resistance if I remember correctly or was that just her saggy knicker elastic

orphan · 18/08/2015 17:38

I wonder what happened to the Allo cast? I can sort of see BA in it, camping it up as a German officer.Confused

Rhubarb01 · 18/08/2015 18:15

You lot have given me a laugh, so thank you. Another horrendous stressy day caused by computers. It used to be people, then telephone calls but now it's just a machine. Texted my DH at lunchtime to say 'I will kill someone soon' (If you are monitoring this MI5 - I'm not serious!!) Anyway, back to important stuff like 'Allo Allo'. Surely, BA would be the British Airman popping up everywhere saying "Hello" or maybe even the Gendarme with the terrible accent.

KellyHb · 18/08/2015 19:06

Just read that Reign has been assigned 22 episodes for Season 3. Hope BA isn't over there filming for all of them. I think they're only on filming no.6 or something. We'll never get him back in the UK at this rate Confused.

I think BA was only in 6 episodes last time. What do you think ice? Can you see him being over there for all those episodes?

I love Allo Allo. Totally remember watching those on a Sat night with my Dad. I think BA (First Light BA version) would be the gay German soldier who fancied Renee.

orphan · 18/08/2015 19:58

I think he needs to be German or French rhubarb so that he can do a really dodgy accent. For some reason I think this would come naturally. And definitely gay. And very camp. And in long boots.

I'm going to campaign now for 'Allo 'Allo to be resurrected with BA in a starring role. I wonder what his catchphrase would be?

orphan · 18/08/2015 19:59

"Hands off my bratwurst" perhaps?

icemistOBE · 18/08/2015 20:03

Not sure kelly he was there from Nov (after the dismal radio 1 interview) till the end of jan last time.

Just been to the gym. It was absolutely packed so didn't get to go on much. Plus I had a cottage pie for my tea beforehand which didn't help either. My friend who I went with already had her tea too. Massive indigestion all round. Confused

Thanks ice. He needs to be back in the UK by end of Sept and at that do in London so we can get his autograph Angry Bit of a long shot really.

icemistOBE · 18/08/2015 21:55

Crap on TV tonight so I have my OG playlist on whilst I do some ironing.

I've held back on watching though as I'm saving the eps for my flight.

Thinking back to this time last year... Never heard of BA, was awaiting the series of OG as if enjoyed the stand-alone film. Had no idea what was going to happen Grin

That's very true ice. I only just caught the advert for it one night and thought that he looks alright in his uniform, that bloke, I'll give it a watch.

I loosely remembered the BA name from Lark Rise but thought that he'd aged well. I wonder if TG's anywhere near finishing the script yet.

Going to watch that Scandalous thing tonight on watch again. See if its any good or not.

Rhubarb01 · 18/08/2015 22:09

I can remember thinking I was interested as I liked the original drama and had watched that two or three times when it was first on but it wasn't until I saw the trailers and realised there was going to be a bit of romance in it - the famous forehead resting scene was on the trailer - that I put it on my must see list. To my shame the first week or two it was on I watched Downton first before turning to the iplayer. That didn't happen again after episode two!

pixieg1rl · 18/08/2015 22:15

I wasn't intending on watching OG because MrP took the piss out of me watching the stand alone one, but I was off work sick and flicking through iplayer and thought I'd give it a go, I thought (I still do) that Lacey Turner is a cracking and much over-looked actress. I think I watched episode 1 twice, back to back, and then again the next day, and the next...

KellyHb · 18/08/2015 22:25

Episode 2 is still my favourite rhu.

The kiss in episode 5, when I watched it again the other day, I could see more of his lips on Molly and if it wasn't so dark, the kiss would have been seen as quite a passionate one I think.

Imagine if the final series of Downton Abbey was on at the same time as the next series of OG again next year! Maybe if OG now has this huge following, there may be talk of a S3 if BBC realise how popular it is. But getting our two favourite leads back together might be difficult.

Oh well. I digress.

KellyHb · 18/08/2015 22:29

You're right pix. She's a great actress. If only she could have felt able to do some scenes in the UK for us for S2 if she didn't want to go overseas and leave family etc, that would have been better than what we're potentially going to get. Hope I'm wrong though.

Rhubarb01 · 18/08/2015 22:33

I have't watched OG for months now, waiting for the big watch along in September, but occasionally when I see a photo or hear a bit of the music I get that nostalgic feeling again of having watched it all for the first time and re-watching the episodes multiple times waiting for the next week. It's so strange. I can't remember the last time something affected me like that. Perhaps there were programmes like that in the past but it just wasn't easy to watch them again and no one else to discuss them with.

pixieg1rl · 18/08/2015 22:47

I haven't watched it for months either rhu although I am looking forward to the watch-a-long. I listen to the soundtrack a fair bit though and it brings it all back

KellyHb · 18/08/2015 22:47

This will sound really pathetic but I cant listen to the soundtrack, as it's so great and it just smacks of CJ and Molly that I cant listen to it without welling up in case we've had the last we'll see of them. Sad

icemistOBE · 18/08/2015 22:48

It reminds me albeit on a smaller scale, of the massive who shot jr on Dallas in the early 80's. I think the fact that the Internet is everywhere now makes it easier to find people who live a show just as much as you do. Rather than chatting to friends who as we all have found out, seem to have completely bypassed the whole OG/CJ/BA love fest

I love listening to the soundtrack! It brings all my fave scenes to mind. I'd be lost without it. My iTunes counts how many times I listen - it's embarrassingly high and that doesn't count my spotify list either Blush

Rhubarb01 · 18/08/2015 22:53

Kristin Shepherd! - Always a good one to remember for pub quizes etc!

pixieg1rl · 18/08/2015 23:02

Is there an itunes soundtrack ice? I listen to one on spotify

Richtea19 · 18/08/2015 23:11

pixie I bought all the records from iTunes as Spotify wouldn't let me skip to the ones I wanted to play over and over again (London Grammar!). Like ice I'm always playing it, but mainly in the car through the Bluetooth thingy, then I can sing without being shouted at by the boys!

Rhubarb01 · 18/08/2015 23:12

I'm now wracking my brains to think of any other series I've watched that affected me in the past to this degree but I'm struggling. When I was a kid I really liked Secret Army - no videos or DVD's in those days (confessions here I now have a box set) - that was when they made series with about 14 episodes and there were 3 series. In those days they really took time to develop characters and people had long scenes actually talking to each other and it had lots of tense moments and a bit of romance too. I suppose I did enjoy the first two series of Downton quite a lot - The first Christmas special (Matthew proposes in the snow) is a favourite with me and the DD's - we always go ahhhhh and sigh like it was the first time we saw it on Christmas Day all over again (perfect Christmas Day viewing - unlike that infamous one). However, I haven't really felt the same about Downton since then especially the series that appeared to be about the Pigs and nothing much else - once they started killing characters my interest started to go. I think it's definitely time for the last series.

cjwoofwoof · 18/08/2015 23:29

My earliest memory of obsessive repetitive viewing was Hill Street Blues in the 80s. My mum and I would watch video playbacks of each episode 3-4 times a week. Absolutely loved that show and all the characters in it, sigh
