Hooray! Let's hope that this series is better than the last.
Oh look it's Arya Stark! And more Missy!
And PC's hair is madder than ever!
(And I've found the box of exclamation marks!!!!!)
Let's see Tardis

New short interview thingy about the next episode

Hmm, I think Clara could well know she is pregnant but not told the doctor. She's not one for spilling all to him. Or the could make her unaware like Amy, but that will annoy me if it happens because I think Clara is definitely switched on enough to notice that she's missing periods, and practical enough not to just put it down to grief or something.

I might totally be on the wrong track, though.

SausageSmuggler · 23/09/2015 07:47

I agree with the daleks and cybermen being massively overused. I adore the show but when I see it's another episode with them I just feel a bit disappointed. I was so glad the 50th didn't have them, I thought they would.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 23/09/2015 07:55

I don't think the Doctor will shoot Davros. I think he'll shoot the hand mines.

Maybe he'll still leave Davros with the sonic screwdriver and perhaps there is something in the screwdriver technology that Davros uses to create the shooting-eye-piece of the Daleks (I'm not at my most articulate at this time in the morning so feel free to substitute shooting-eye-piece with the appropriate wording! Grin )

Hence the Doctor will still be inadvertently responsible for the Daleks? that's my current theory but here's hoping that Moffat doesn't drag that revelation out over the entire series and make it the basis of the 'confession'

BestIsWestOfGallifrey · 23/09/2015 09:47

Those hand mines had eyes didn't they, maybe they were the inspiration for the Daleks.

I started with Jon Pertwee too and I was completely terrified of Daleks for years. I had an annual one Christmas with lots of information about Daleks and how there was no escape from them. Terrified me.

SausageSmuggler · 23/09/2015 22:19

Its funny, my eldest DC's are 5 next month and 3.5 and have been watching Dr who for a while. There's quite a few episodes I wont let them watch because they're too scary but Dalek ones generally get regarded (by them) as not scary at all.

regenerationfez · 24/09/2015 11:11

BertieI think it's a good few months since Christmas though, and he'd been dead a while before that. She would be visibly pregnant by the end of the series and she isn't in any of the promo features. It does seem odd that they seem to have completely dropped that thread with no explanation or even have Clara saying ' but I saw Danny's descendent, how can he be dead?' All I can think of is he comes back or she goes back and gets knocked up.

regenerationfez · 24/09/2015 11:12

Unless the plan was that she would find out she was pregnant at Christmas and leave, but that had to be scrapped because Jenna decided to stay.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 24/09/2015 19:53

Or they're still dreaming because of the dream crabs and actually Missy is dead, it's still Christmas time and Clara is pregnant Shock

BertieBotts · 24/09/2015 19:58

I reckon that was the original plan - that she found out at Christmas but then they had to change it. And now they are scrabbling around for explanations.

TheDrsDocMartens · 26/09/2015 19:02

Just placing marking for tonight!

ARockNRollNerd · 26/09/2015 20:46

Putting aside my dislike for Clara and the sonic sunglasses, I quite enjoyed that episode!

I was very nervous that Moffat had lost the plot completely with Doctor and Davros becoming besties. I wouldn't put something so ridiculous past him Hmm

I laughed far too loudly at "The only other chair on Skaro!". Hmm. Might NC to that actually!

TheDrsDocMartens · 26/09/2015 20:57

I liked that line too Grin

and hated the sonic glasses

Stupendous again!

The Doctor is back. And I'm now seeing how Clara could have been living in a Dalek when we first met her as Oswin (with MS). It's becoming a recurring theme and I so hope they allow it to make the sense it's making in my head.

Clara's first episode was one of the best ever. I've never felt that they capitalised on that - until now.

I'm so happy ...

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 27/09/2015 12:35

I loved that episode. Missy and Clara were fantastic. And so many classic lines 'let's play dodgems!'

I agree, It felt like the Dr was back

APlaceOnTheCouch · 27/09/2015 15:35

I loved the scenes with Davros and the Doctor, and Missy was excellent as always. It would have been excellent (albeit incredibly dark) if they had left Clara as a Dalek bringing her full circle to her first episode.

Gruach · 27/09/2015 15:39

Might have been a bit sudden Couch - but it definitely looks as if they're building up to a "full circle" denouement to Clara's story.

SausageSmuggler · 27/09/2015 18:20

Sonic sunglasses Hmm
I hope Missy is in more episodes, I think she brings a great dynamic to the show.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 01/10/2015 20:38

I'm watching now. If davros's chair has a force field how did the snake things get in. So a nod to Genesis of the daleks, that's good.
I fucking love Missy!
Oh bloody hell, the Dr is always so soft! Come on missy save him.

I thought Under the Lake was really good.

SausageSmuggler · 03/10/2015 22:18

I thought it was very creepy. It was nice to see new baddies.
