I think the wall didn't reset because it was an interface with the pocket universe that contains Gallifrey, rather than part of the puzzle.

I think the resets had been happening for 2 billion "years" (though year and light year are fast and loose concepts for an intergalactic traveller!)

I guess the sea also didn't reset, given the build up of skulls.

The internet thinks the wall wasn't set to reset as once a reset had made it that far, the doctor was supposed to give up and confess. Which...is tenuous.

Given he's been looking for Gallifrey for a while, couldn't they have sent him an invite to get him home, rather than a kidnap sting?

They aren't very grateful for the "saved the planet" thing, are they?!

I can't remember - did Gallifrey (a) know the Doctor saved them (b) want to be saved by getting sent into a pocket universe. Time Lords strike me as the sort of people who would complain that you hadn't saved their planet the way they wanted it done

Plus wasn't the point of the puzzle that the Time Lords wanted to know more about the 'hybrid' and they thought frightening the Doctor to death was the best way to get to the truth about the hybrid.

Should we have a sweepstake on the 'hybrid is me/Me!' meaning:

1. it's the Doctor because there was human on his mother's side
2. it's the Doctor because all 12 versions helped to banish Gallifrey so a large group coming together to act as one could (v v loosely) be called a hybrid
3. it's Me because she was a hybrid of Viking and alien
4. it's the Highwayman that Me saved with her spare patch hence it was Me that created that hybrid
5. some other hybrid and the me/Me line was a red herring

For example, the Doctor said something like "they always knock four times".
That's a reference to the last David Tennant episode where there had been a prophecy that four knocks would signal the Doctor's death (it was Wilf, Donna's grandad).
