Hooray! Let's hope that this series is better than the last.
Oh look it's Arya Stark! And more Missy!
And PC's hair is madder than ever!
(And I've found the box of exclamation marks!!!!!)
Let's see Tardis

I should learn not to listen to DS. DT is coming back for an audio series.

regenerationfez · 28/10/2015 08:15

They are doing some audio books. DT used to do them with his wife as a new character.

MrsJayy · 28/10/2015 09:18

Dd2 yesterday omg omg muum Dt is going back to Doctor who eeeeek aw wait never mind its audio books Grin

BeckerLleytonNever · 28/10/2015 17:51

was watching 'The Daemons' this week, Jon Pertwee.

In UNIT theres an officer, a Sargeant Osgood.

Any relation to the current Osgood does anyone know? he was a scientist guy in this story. Tardis.

and yy agree about the writers/producers not knowing their viewers/ age group anymore.

TheDrsDocMartens · 28/10/2015 18:02

Ooh that's interesting. Wonder if I've got that one.

RustyBear · 28/10/2015 19:11

"The Doctor just does not seem warm or funny anymore" - the first doctor wasn't particularly warm or funny - in fact in the first story, he tried to kill a wounded caveman who was delaying their escape...

regenerationfez · 28/10/2015 22:45

Yes but times have changed. Doctor Who was designed as a low budget educational children's programme. Now it is a massively expensive flagship show. It needs to appeal to a wide audience to justify the cost of production and to sell overseas. DT and MS were able to do that and still do. PC is apparently lovely off screen and not at all grumpy.

RustyBear · 29/10/2015 00:05

If it wasn't for the 'middle-aged fanboys' (and fangirls; I know exactly how old I was when I first started watching it, I was 7 years and 3 months old in November 1963) it would never have been revived, so I reckon we deserve the occasional nod to the past...

regenerationfez · 29/10/2015 08:57

I appreciate that . It's part of what I love that I can remember watching Peter Davison and my son watches the same show. It just seems to want to relate more to the past than to move on, which will be bad for us all. You can't spend £1m+ an episode just for a niche show which it was in the '80's.

Looks interesting

RealHuman · 31/10/2015 20:43

It seems a bit daft so far.

waitingforcalpoltowork · 31/10/2015 20:57

yawn

TheDrsDocMartens · 31/10/2015 21:07

More hybrids...

DoctorFunkenstein · 01/11/2015 09:51

I have to say I didn't rate last night's at all. The red things were just so predictable and stereotypical, even the way they spoke.

I also thought it very misjudged to have the shoulder launched missile at a plane given the news events of the day Sad

Crappy show, BBC

DoctorFunkenstein · 01/11/2015 09:52

I agree Peter Capaldi is spectacularly good.

It's just the rest of it.

Plus he's married so I can't even get legitimately excited about him.

RealHuman · 01/11/2015 10:00

I did snort at the benefits line.

The rest of it - meh. Felt like a mid-season monster-of-the-week creature-feature man-in-a-rubber-suit space-filler.

trapdooragain · 01/11/2015 10:18

i never thought i would say it but im bored of the doctor

trapdooragain · 01/11/2015 10:19

and the guitar playing nonsense has to stop seriously

MrsJayy · 01/11/2015 10:24

It is such a shame i really was excited about Pc but his stories are just shit givehim a sonicscrew driver and let him get on with it stop messing withhim, and hasnt that monster been in it abillion times before but in different colours

He is its bloody tragic.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 01/11/2015 11:30

PC is excellent but this entire series has just been a bit meh and I can't even pinpoint why. . .
