Hooray! Let's hope that this series is better than the last.
Oh look it's Arya Stark! And more Missy!
And PC's hair is madder than ever!
(And I've found the box of exclamation marks!!!!!)
Let's see Tardis

That was much better. Even DS who has been very sniffy about the writing this series approved.

thegiddylimit · 18/10/2015 11:39

Ashdir or whatever her name was

Ashildr

A bit silly initially but looking forward to the second part next week.

Clara/dalek hybrid?

I have no idea what I am talking about here

Gruach · 18/10/2015 12:52

Think that's definitely where it's going ...

Trills · 18/10/2015 13:02

I'd quite like to see Maisie Williams play a totally different character. An early-teen tomboy Viking is just too much like Arya Stark.

(also isn't she like 18 now?)

vindscreenviper · 18/10/2015 13:50

Wasn't Clara actually a dalek in a previous series? Or am I mis-remembering?

yy I remember! "Where are you getting the eggs from?"
So maybe Oswin/Clara is the hybrid and that's how they write her out of this series?

She was indeed vind. What I'm (we're?) hoping for is that they take the story full circle to her totally stunning first episode which has never yet been fully exploited.

I've been spending too much time pondering over how it might end. Is it timey-whimily possible for 12 to have got her into her Dalek half life; then for 11 to discover her thus; and then for 12 (doing what he's done all this series) to go back and change the past so she doesn't spend eternity dreaming of soufflé?

It's ages since I've been this excited about Dr Who!

regenerationfez · 18/10/2015 16:20

I knew it was a better name than I thought giddy ! I would so call my imaginary daughter Arya or Ashildr, but can't because I have enough children.

Wasn't one of her splinters sent into the Doctors time stream and ended up as the dalek? So that is entirely possible, as it would be a future splinter. That would be good, if only to see Soufflé girl again. I wonder how she leaves?

BeckerLleytonNever · 18/10/2015 16:57

okay, gave it a go last night.

wasn't too bad. loved the fact it reminded me of the Tom Baker story of the giant robot for some reason.

liked the stone warriors, and Tom Stauton (sp) from horrible histories was in it!

loved the bit where dr who named the guys, Lofty, ZZTop, Heidi etc.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 18/10/2015 19:49

I liked this episode. The pacing felt right possibly because it had a self-contained story even though the character is going to recur next week iyswim

It was a nice surprise to see 10 and Donna too.

Becker the naming part reminded me of 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' when they have to pick a former pop star from a line-up and always give them silly names Grin

SESthebrave · 18/10/2015 22:00

Just watched it and I think it was one of the better PC episodes. In fact I think the writing generally this series is much better.

I also liked the naming of the line-up, especially Heidi :)

How many more episodes have we got?

BeckerLleytonNever · 24/10/2015 17:50

If anyones got the latest Dr who magazine thers an interview with thw writer of the last episode and they give away a possible spoiler about who game of thrones girl is a hybrid of..........

I did. I enjoyed it. I think I need to watch it again, as the kids were up. I didn't catch who Ashildr was meant to be a hybrid of. I just presumed she was a human/whatever last weeks monster was hybrid.

Huntthepigsear · 24/10/2015 21:16

So how is Osgood back? Pleased that she is, though.

gingerdad · 24/10/2015 21:20

Really struggling to enjoy this series. Found tonight to not be entertaining at all.

EeyoresTail · 24/10/2015 21:43

I know Ashildr/Me is meant to be immortal but how could she have children during the plague when she would have been hundreds of years old! Unless that chip thing gave her an infinite number of eggs! Hmm

RustyBear · 24/10/2015 21:50

Why not? If the chip renews her cells, why not her eggs as well?

I need to watch again with subtitles. Not sure if it's them or us but the music/speech balance seems to be way off and I missed a lot of the dialogue.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 24/10/2015 21:57

Nice reference to captain jack at the end, I know Ashildr said who but does anyone else think it was actually Jack that told aAshildr about the doctor how he runs away etc

specialsubject · 24/10/2015 21:58

not just you - some terrible mumbling, and I'm afraid guest star girl acts about as well as the star of the school play. Think of Sophia Myles in a similar role on the 'slow path', and weep for Who-that-was. Capaldi mumbles at times, but there was so much when he was acting and she was just reading the lines. Dear oh dear.

been watching Who for over 40 years (with the obvious gap) and it will take some giving up, but tonight was a reminder of the old days when you got some really duff, dull stories.

bring on the Zygons. Can't go wrong with a good old rubber monster. Can we?

SouthWestmom · 24/10/2015 22:05

I'm giving up slowly, quite sad about it!
Watched about ten minutes of that, sitting with boys. It's just not happening

BestIsWest · 24/10/2015 22:11

Nope didn't like that one either.
