Is Vincent's dad dead? I thought he ran off with another woman ( I could have just imagined it)
When kaff married Gavin I thought it because he was a normal bloke, unlike Phil the gangster? If older Mitchell was friends with Den and others surely they would also have known kaff when she was with Pete? Is Phil supposed to be much younger than Kaff? He is certainly much older than Vincent

Kathy's mid-sixties isn't she - based on Ian being 46 (same as Sharon). GT is younger than Kathy.

Gavin's probably close to 70. It sort of works just about if you don't think too hard about it.

Ronnie gets even worse. The writers and Samantha Womack are doing a great job with that character as I really loathe her.

I agree with Red about not enjoying the gangster element - I'd hate it if the show went back to Gangster Central of 10-12 years ago with Johnny Allen and Andy Hunter.

Ian was younger in 1985 than now, He was a 14 - 15 year old then, but in 1990 they skipped his age from 19 to 21 to match Sharon and Michelle.

God it makes my brain hurt when I try and work out all these ancient character connections, I end up spending hours on Wikipedia looking up old Eastenders characters anyone else?

Also, where has the theory that Gavin is Vincent's dad come from? Or did I just make that up?

Scarlett - it's a bit of a joke about how Vincent seems to know everyone on the square 5 minutes after he turned up.

I made up the theory about Gavin being Vincent's dad - it was a joke. We all found it really amusing how a completely new character (Vincent) wandered onto the square & seemed to know everyone despite us never having seen him or heard of him before. They seem to be doing the same thing with Gavin, so I assumed Vincent must be his son!

New theory: Gavin went to SA to escape some gangsters over here. When Ted heard his sister wanted to get away from Phil he suggested she go to SA & asked Gavin to help her settle in.

I still can't figure out what Claudette's problem with the Mitchells is, although I did read that Peggy threw herself at Johnny Allen so maybe he wasn't the only East End gangster that she tried to seduce?!

So if kaff has a brother called ted why doesn't Ian ever mention him? He mentions auntie Pauline and she's been dead for years!

I don't know who Gavin is will Google it. My daughters had a part in EE years ago, they don't even remember it.

Is Kathys brother still alive? If he is then it's very odd he's never mentioned by Ian.

Fakebook Ted is still alive, he left The Square to work in Dubai and then moved to South Africa, then Kathy left to go and live with him iirc

Pete died years ago, long before Kathy left. His death was one of the main reasons Ted came back to the Square in the first place.

It's not so odd that Ted isn't mentioned. Soap characters often seem to stop existing once they leave the show

Magpie they were Courtney Mitchell or for the proper pronounciation cortnay. They were 18 months when they started. Got no bad gossip only good, everyone was very nice. (Except for that rebekah Brooks who was with Ross Kemp at the time, she was a twunt and horrible to everyone ).

I always moan about the soaps, but always watch them.

Thanks EveryFricking, I don't remember Ted, must have been long before I started watching. Could the picture be a hint that he's on his way back? Or maybe he knew Kathy and Gavin pretended to die?
