Les has admitted to meeting up with claudette secretly since Laurie (son) died, they started meeting in a pub and he says it was an 'outlet' to cope with his grief. Sounds as though he's confided in Claudette about Pam bumping Laurie off, which would explain why he's so scared of her uncovering things. There's clearly more to the story though, so God knows how the annual Gran Canaria trip and his debt problems fit in. It's become a ridiculous story line being strung out far too long and I'd be gobsmacked if there is any remotely convincing conclusion.
Kathy getting into the Arches- agree, what with all the dodgy dealings phil does, no way would it just be left open. And phil's u-turn over agreeing to help her out- very unconvincing.
Cindy - what a cow. Ok she hasn't been dealt the best set of cards but she's been bloody awful to Ian and Jane (and everyone else) since she arrived. She stole all that money to begin with, got up the duff, palmed the baby off on Ian and Jane when convenient but didn't want them to adopt her, was pretty vile to Lucy and now she's got a chance to escape the square and find happiness she does that to Bobby and also risks incriminating herself ...
I took the reason why phil and Sharon were so Keen to see Max banged up was kind of 50/50 because he tricked Ben into signing over the Arches, and also because Ben was arrested and detained over Lucy's death, when it now appears (for the moment!) that max murdered her.
Dean- yeap, he was desperate to have his daughter for all of about 10 minutes. He's now got Amy the devil child moved in so clearly isn't bothered about his biological daughter any more.
I have to admit there are some comic moments in EE, but its a shame it's gone so downhill. Way too many story lines and peripheral characters- it's really showing now that the script writers can't keep up with them all never mind the audience. Also when they covered 'issues' : sexuality, cancer etc they at least used to pride themselves on researching them properly and presenting them convincingly. It's all become a tad ridiculous now.
Ok ok it's just a soap! But it could be done so much better. Having said that there are some great individual performances
