These 2 detectives sat talking shite aren't filling me with confidence in our police force.

OP posts:
MarzipanDildo · 27/07/2015 21:38

I just said the same thing to DH (he's a copper)! Dim-witted, irritating harridans. If I sat next to them at work I would want to gouge my own eyes out.

leccybill · 27/07/2015 21:45

Just thinking exactly the same. Wittering on about shite and sounding a bit self-important.

NanaNina · 28/07/2015 01:34

Totally agree! They are so irritating, especially the DC (dark haired one - forgotten her name) she's sucking up to the DS and yes leccybill so bloody self important..........bragging about how she'd "caught him out" in interview because of the timing..........and then after all that the Moriarty chap isn't charged with anything and McEwan is only charged with 2 offences, as 3 charges were dropped - didn't say what the outcome was either.

Liked the last series but won't be watching if these 2 twerps are the star turns.

stareatthetvscreen · 28/07/2015 01:36

i thought the same

what a waste of time too at the end

WickedCrip · 28/07/2015 20:53

I think last year different episodes featured different people investigating? But certainly came across like they'd decided he was guilty before the interview.

jetsetlil · 31/07/2015 13:35

Oh I really liked them. The dark haired one seemed quite mumsy and they both came across as fair, in fact the dark haired one at one point seemed quite sad about the crap upbringing the lad had had. Also, they worked a 20hour shift!! I would be dead on my feet

BackInTheRealWorld · 31/07/2015 13:39

The ex copper who is now the legal aid solicitor is a weird one. Fancy spending half your life trying to nick criminals and the other half trying to get them off!

ImperialBlether · 31/07/2015 13:41

I thought the two women were absolutely useless. Yes, the dark haired one had a mumsy manner which might come in useful sometimes, but the thought of them being responsible for lowering the crime rate was pretty horrifying.

NanaNina · 31/07/2015 16:42

I missed that the legal aid solicitor was an ex copper. I thought he said that the dark haired cop was an ex legal aid secretary! Did I get that wrong. Thing is they must have filmed for months on end for this series, and someone made the decision to show these 2 women, chit chatting about rubbish and being self important........DC is mumsy unlike DS but there's just something SO irritating about her - well both of them really, keep on stating the bloody obvious, and DC wasn't that good in interview - she did say she was confused and when the solicitor mentioned this, she denied saying it but she did.........was the legal aid rep legally qualified - I just had a feeling that he wasn't......he was pretty useless too.

ImperialBlether · 31/07/2015 16:48

NanaNina, yes, the dark haired policewoman used to be a legal secretary. I don't think the legal aid solicitor was an ex cop - he only talked about being a solicitor and expecting to act for that guy for years to come.

Those two women really played to the camera, particularly the gay woman going on about online dating - what the hell does that have to do with her job? It was very unprofessional.

gymboywalton · 31/07/2015 16:53

that soplicitor has been on before and he is an ex cop and he specialises in career criminals and getting them off. he KNEW that lad was guilty -hence the toilet break-he could see that the lad was getting his lies mixed up.

They knew he was guilty because they know him of old. Even I know about colin moriarty just from watching the programme! he has been on it before!!!

it would put you off living in luton...

ImperialBlether · 31/07/2015 17:10

I thought this series was in a different location to the last series. Are they in the same place?

gymboywalton · 31/07/2015 20:11

No still luton

Luvverly · 01/08/2015 10:34

There was a previous from Hull, which irritated a lot of people.

ImperialBlether · 01/08/2015 15:29

That's the one I was thinking about, Luvverly.

gymboywalton · 03/08/2015 21:19

Anyone watching tonight?

How in earth these police people do this job I have no idea

VivaLeBeaver · 03/08/2015 21:25

Horrible Isnt it?

chippednailvarnish · 03/08/2015 21:27

Grim viewing...

Bunnyjo · 03/08/2015 21:38

My friend is a Sergeant in the PPU - she has seen things that have given her nightmares and found the job especially tough after returning from maternity leave.

Tonight's episode is particularly grim, given the suspect's occupation as a gynaecologist.

VivaLeBeaver · 03/08/2015 21:42

A bloke in our village got done for this. His daughters are similar age to dd. He went to prison and is back home now. His wife stood by him!!!

RifRaf · 03/08/2015 21:57

I am finding this very distressing, just horrific.

RevsDeCub · 03/08/2015 21:59

This is horrible. Honestly, I'm 34 weeks pregnant & was crying when he described what happens to a 1 yr old. I know it goes on but fucking hell its horrendous. Poor babies/children x

recall · 03/08/2015 22:00

it seems like that chap is relieved to offload it ?

VivaLeBeaver · 03/08/2015 22:01

I can't believe that teacher only got a suspended sentence!! Its a fucking disgrace.

What was the drs sentence? Missed that!

Nectarines · 03/08/2015 22:04

I feel physically sick watching this. The sentencing just didn't seem enough.

Both in positions of trust as well.
