We have only ever seen Carrie fall in love with other CIA/military personnel so her being in a relationship with a civvy highlights how screwed up her life has been. He is disgusted with the number of people she has killed or has had a hand in killing - especially as he is a (kind of?) human rights/civil rights lawyer. He also can't understand how she can live the life she leads. TBF, I don't think I would handle it very well if the person I was in love with suddenly disclosed this type of information (even if I had known it in a vague way).

Will he be ultimately be faithful to Carrie eg like Saul, Quinn, Brodie and Lockhart? Well, they all understood what it meant to be American and in the CIA. He obviously doesn't.

Franka has it all over Carrie.

BTW, my DP who doesn't watch Homeland but hears it in the background is always surprised how current it is to real life and what's happening in the world.

Carrie's wig wasn't current. More like something you'd wear to a naff 70's retro party knowing how exactly how naff it is.
