Corrie Thread - Bet Emily is relieved there is one less child for her 24 hour creche

With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

How did she get through the audition? They should get us in on the panel, or do they think a washed up singer from a crappy singing talent show group would boost the ratings?

Perhaps professional actors and actresses don't want to be associated with the current poorly written stories.

Hopefully it's a short lived slot.

Looks like the producers are trying to assemble a band . Probably will have some cringey episode with them all singing together, ugh.

What's happened to Maria's child? She and Luke were at Audrey's non-party last night along with the elderly babysitters(Emily and Rita). It seemed a strange storyline to have a party where the main guest doesn't turn up.

I presumed something happened on the day to whatshername who plays Audrey and they quickly had to cobble together a (weak) excuse as to why the actress wasn't there.

Ooo I hope the actress who plays Audrey is OK!

Maria didn't suit playing the comedy role last night. It was so cheesy.

I really want to try out a meal at the Bistro tho and a full breakfast at Roy's rolls. I don't really fancy one if Sean's Hotpots cooked in that kitchen at the back and I definatly don't line the loom of the kebab shop. Chippy looks like they do nice chips, and I wouldn't mind my hair being brushed at the salon. I'd have a pick n mix from the cabin, and I'd enjoy a red wine at the rovers.

Also I'd buy a decent phone at the Barlows buys where they keys arnt to small for my fingers to type and I keep making typos

I know somebody (professional actor) who recently went for an audition for Corrie.

He said he was up against a lot of "well known names" and knew he didn't stand a chance because that's what they were looking for to fill the roles.

Obviously didn't want real actors

It shows how few TV acting roles there are at the moment when well known faces get just a 5 episode stint on Coronation Street.

On a positive note, the actor who's coming into it soon to play one of Carla's family is very experienced and really good at what he does. Richard Hawley - some of you may remember him from Family Affairs and Prime Suspect.

Sarah Harding is terrible. Why does she call herself "Joanie" and Robert calls her "Johnny"?

Sarah Harding is shockingly bad. Even worse than Kym Marsh, which is quite an achievement. Over-enunciating every syllable.

Agree. She's bloody awful. I thought the actress who played Tina's mother briefly last year was poor but S.H is terrible.

What is with Tracey and pushing food around her plate when it's out in front of her in a scene, twice this week she's sat with a plate full of food and she just pokes at it with her fork, or gets a fork full and then instantly dumps it back down on the plate, it's bloody irritating! Almost as irritating at Sarah Hardings 'acting' and mini Dominic West and his go-to sulking face!

What singers would we like to see in Corrie? Ones that can actually act.

That Denise van out on can hold a tube I've seen her in a couple of west end shows

That sporty spice was very good in Blood Brothers and would fit in well on the cobbles.

YY DVO sings way better than she acts.
