With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

Carla is going to Madrid. Confused

Jo4040 · 17/07/2015 21:26

I posted about Sinead. She's very different. Nothing like 'Tina', 'Katie' 'Sarah' etc..just very beautiful. Kind of a 'Marry' in anog, marry avoid. LOL.

I wish I was at the Wis party, OK m bloody starving!!

sweetgrape · 17/07/2015 21:39

Yes Michelle doesn't suit her hair like that....How could Carla take off for Madrid just like that with a factory to run. Surely she'd need to sort loads of stuff out.

Jo4040 · 17/07/2015 21:58

Just read my post back. I'm not drunk. Really!!

southeastdweller · 17/07/2015 22:10

Loved Carla's scenes in the second half of the second episode tonight. Alison King has more talent and and charisma than half the cast in total.

eddiemairswife · 17/07/2015 22:10

So bored with Cathy, and even more so with Anna and Gary. Is that the last we see of Dan's daughter and why was she there?

absolutelynotfabulous · 17/07/2015 22:15

Yes re: Carla. Very odd to just up sticks. I'll miss her. But the storylines are so daft, I can't keep up.

Isn't she still married to Peter? If so, why weren't there any Carla/Peter scenes this week?

And I'm still a bit confused about that fire: what's happened about the investigation? Didn't Tracy do it (albeit accidentally). Why do people think Carla did it if there's no evidence?

Glad Doctors is coming back soon...

woodhill · 17/07/2015 22:19

hate Michelle's hair scraped back.

AgathaChristie01 · 17/07/2015 22:28

I'm not sure if Carla is gone just yet. I think Shayne Warde has to arrive as some long lost relative of the family before she leaves for her break from the Street. I may be wrong in this. I think the original announcement mentioned her leaving next year.
I do hope that she returns, she is one of the strengths of the Street, IMO.

Agreed. The night she spoke to Nick about losing her baby, likewise. It was a really short scene, but it was so moving.
Also, I cheered her when she gave evidence at Peter's trial. Superb.

theliverpoolone · 17/07/2015 23:15

I don't get Liz saying about whether Dan would tell Simon about Leanne "he wouldn't do something like that, would he?" , when she just told Dan's daughter about him, in front of everyone in the pub. He may well not have told Simon, but after that he definitely will!

spad · 18/07/2015 00:18

Yeah, I agree. What a stupid storyline.

absolutelynotfabulous · 18/07/2015 08:37

That last scene, was completely daft, yes. I can't believe Liz would just accost Dan in front of his boss, his daughter and the whole pub without any solid evidence. She'd have been embarrassed Imo. She'd have said "right you, I wanna word in't back!" or summat.

southeastdweller · 18/07/2015 09:03

Yes, that scene was clunky. I honestly expected Liz to take Dan into the Rovers front room instead of having the confrontation in front of everyone.

But then I remembered what's coming on Monday night. The story is being done too quickly for me to care much.

woodhill · 18/07/2015 10:06

the confrontation was stupid. surely Leanne would have said could you break it off with him gently rather than humiliating him otherwise she has put herself in danger.

usually if you tell someone something you don't want it to come back on you

AgathaChristie01 · 18/07/2015 10:24

It's the usual, a rushed storyline, which could have been played out, for longer, and involves decent actors.
They need to get it out of the way so they can inflict Callum, Bethany and Sarah on us, for the millionth time, with their never ending 'story'. Confused

sweetgrape · 18/07/2015 14:55

I agree Agatha, we must be due some heavy doses of of that dire threesome next week. When are the Corrie bosses going to realise.... we are not interested in them!

Jo4040 · 18/07/2015 16:08

Isn't Callum meant to be a 'Bad Boy?', Iv not REALLY seen anything that bad of him yet. Iv seen more edgy people at my local post office. Also Who the friggin hell is that girl thats trying to play the part of his chavvy mate? Trys farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to hard with the fake chavvy accent. They are both more of a comedy couple then anything else. Time and Sally have more edge to them at times

AgathaChristie01 · 18/07/2015 17:23

Agreed sweet. I actually sighed with relief after some episodes this week simply didn't feature them. More of their nonsense stories and poor acting ahead. I'd be more scared of Emily and Norris than of Callum and his sidekick. Grin

VulcanWoman · 18/07/2015 17:35

I missed a couple of episodes, Liz split up with Tony and a day later it seems she's with this other bloke! But now they're finished, where and when did she meet this new one?
Simon I'm sure will find out about Leanne's past and will for sure use it against her, he's already said she's not his real Mum.

eddiemairswife · 18/07/2015 17:52

Liz's new man works for the brewery; that's how they met.

VulcanWoman · 18/07/2015 18:54

Ok, thanks eddie. Liz didn't let the grass grow!
I think poor Leanne is in for a beating off the Pimp and Simon.

Wishful80sMontage · 18/07/2015 19:56

I like Robert he's a very welcome addition for me- wish peter was sticking around too. It all still feels like hard work at the moment but I've found the Leanne/liz/dan storyline interesting but I'm not a fan of the Simon DV storyline he's changed overnight no where near enough build up Shame as it could have been great- jane danson is one of the best actors on cs think her and sally dynevor are very underrated.

Jo4040 · 18/07/2015 20:09

I don't know about Leanne being overrated, they do seem to give her alot of storylines. Has she ever won any awards? She's very talented.

hildasmuriel · 18/07/2015 21:29

I've really enjoyed the last week's episodes having just caught up. Loved the Deirdre reminiscing. I also like Roy and Cathy, think they have potential. I like sweet, gentle characters.

I think Leanne should have made Peter tell Simon why he couldn't go to Antigua and let him take the flak. He really is a rubbish parent.
