I've fond memories of that cider festival woof. Remember the 'find the needle in the haystack' competition? I unplaited my Rapunzel ladygarden and stood in for the haystack. Dear Ian and Oliver had a wonderful time foraging for the prize, whilst I think you were occupied with The Wurzels giving them the key to your combine harvester.

Hihihihihi now it's good that I have in plan to fly to Antwerp quite a few times for work in the next 2-3 years...I'll keep my eyes well open (the Antwerp airport is not exactly famous for its charms, it's little more than a hangar adjacent a pathetic Lidl! No duty free or anything... So I usually keep my eyes close and dream of better places...maybe I have already missed him!)

He lives in Antwerp, so definitely keep eyes peeled cherin. Don't you think he's got a teeny little bit of The Raisin (when he was in his prime) going on?

orphan, i see more of a Ryan gosling, but with a face less "long"...he's well ripped, that's for sure! Must hope that his movies are made available on Netflix/amazon soon...I am never going to make it to the cinema at 12 o clock!

I was just wondering when BA's going to sign up for this series or even if he is? Just I would've thought that with the leading lady being sorted, he would be the next in line to sign up - unless he's bartering for a sum nearing MK £250K??

I made the mistake orph of listening to Calvin Harris "Thinking of You" and Lanterns on the Lake "Keep On Trying". Proper CJ and Molly tunes. Sulk fest.

When I was watching episode 2, I was thinking is it not a waste of CJ to just stand in the background and think of Molly and give wise captain advice to the platoon and let someone else have the romance but then at the same time I don't want him to even have a sniff of a thing with anyone else??

Kelly somehow I don't think the BBC will pay BA £250k to stand in the background. Why does there even have to be a romance this time around? It's a prog about women in the army first and foremost. I would like to see him in a gritty role as far removed from the likes of Reign as you can get it. And still looking gorgeous of course!

I know he wont get anywhere near £250k. I was just thinking he'll probably get paid more than last time though and thought maybe working out salary might be one of the reasons we hadn't heard anything.

There might not be a romance-it's just speculation what might/might not happen. Who knows. I know that I'd like to see him in more BBC dramas definitely.

I'd like to see him in the theatre too then we can camp outside the stage door and mob him.....

I'm thinking there may not be a romance (or it won't be a major part of the storyline) because TG did get some criticism for turning OG into a love fest. Also, medic falls in love would be repetitive. Maybe she already has a love interest, could even be married, and it will simply be a part of her character's life rather than any developing storyline.

But don't worry Kelly that doesn't stop me from prolonging my sulk.

Orphan agree. I believe some of the criticism was that there was a lost opportunity to really focus on women in the front line and the romance belittled the military. That said, it was great at the time and we may not still be here so many months later if there hadn't been a romance first time around. Would be cliched to do it again. Judging by the lip biting photos, I'm sure BA will pull plenty out of the bag for his fans if he signs up to keep the hysteria going!

I think TG knows CJ and Molly have to stay together.
I'm hoping GL character is married maybe with kids and we get to see how tough that could be far away from home.
We didn't really get that in S1 as 2section all young lads

I think they are deliberately not announcing it in order to whip up as much hysteria as possible because when it is announced, they know that millions of hormonal women will spontaneously combust.

I really like that idea lola, TG's already dealt with it from the perspective of the rookie going in fresh out of training, I'd love to see the MK character going in as an established, confident soldier and serving on the front line while she had a family / significant other at home. CJ could show the flip side of that scenario because he would have a partner (MD) who's in the same position and could empathise with her struggles. It would be a good way to establish a rapport between them without it being a romance.

Agreed onefor I suspect they're letting the buzz die down a little because they know they'll get even more exposure by making another separate announcement re BA / CJ.
If they'd announced everything at once they would only get one round of press from it.

only whoever the leading man is, I'm sure they already know because they would have to make sure that there is enough chemistry with the leading lady. I wonder how long they will stretch it out. I didn't realise the writers had so much power/exposure but is it just the strength of social media I wonder....

Ladies, I'm back in the land of wifi. I never appreciated just how addicted I am to this thread until I couldn't see it for four whole days. I could just about see Facebook but could only post a couple of times though the ff updates and this thread just wouldn't work at all. It's so good to be back!

CJ was most attentive for my time away, and didn't mind rubbing my chest when I started with a cough. Even though gardening isn't really his thing, he was an excellent companion. I even let him drive a few times, just to keep him happy you know.

At lunchtime, I delivered him direct to Nickel. If she's quiet tonight, it's because they're busy getting themselves reacquainted.

I can see there are loads of ff updates but I think they're going to have to wait until tomorrow. It's a good job I've taken an extra day off because I am going to need it to catch up on about 20 pages of this thread plus the ff.

Definitely, they'll have had to have screen tested the leads together - there's no way they could take the chance that the chemistry was flat as a pancake, regardless of whether there's a romance. All the signs point towards it being BA, who knows how long they will stretch out announcing that though!
