Looking forward to a great few weeks of tennis!! Should we be asking MNHQ for some balls!!

So who is going to do well this year? Stan has tough first round match against Kyrios......and Nadal is playing Dolgo I think?

Good luck mama.Thanks

Yes, it looks like I stuffed it up for poor Cilic. I am sorry. Sad

A lot of big servers left in, so I don't know what the matches will be like. I think the Raonic/Simon match looks the most interesting, in terms of very different players. I like both of them.

I will not be drawn on who I am supporting anymoreGrin.

I am going to play Commentary Bingo

  • Mentions of Murray's Ring
  • Isner's Height
  • How many times will Castle bring up the subject of Davis Cup, (applies during the Simon and Murray matches).

also

  • Random camera close ups.

I'm sure there are more we can add as the day progresses.

I will miss a large chunk of it, as I have to take ds to the doctor, after I pick up dd1. I am relying on the wi-fi at the surgery actually being switched on. Grin

Tennis.

Raahh · 19/06/2015 12:59

That's an interesting article, Bagel.

I've never been much of a Djokovic fan- similar reasons to why I don't like Murray really. Far too much stropping and racquet smashing in his early days. He has matured a lot more though now- though winning rather than losing helpsGrin .

I do feel for him in that he will never really be in the same bracket as Fed or Rafa, despite being a phenomenal player, because they have all the titles. Djok, though has the benefit of time (and relative fitness), so he may yet join the GOAT debate.

And it is easy to forget how hard it must have been for players from the former Yugoslavia. A horrible era to be a child there. Sad

Raahh · 19/06/2015 13:22

Garcia-Lopez /Anderson gone to a tie break. There are going to be a few today, I think.

Raahh · 19/06/2015 13:33

So Anderson took the set.

I am NOT saying whether I am happy with this or not Grin .

GrouchyKiwi · 19/06/2015 13:38

Hi all.

Good luck today, mama.

Have decided to use data with abandon as BT is now going to call me on Monday to "place the order for our broadband", which I was told would be done yesterday. Girding my loins for a ranty call.

Will probably dip in and out of matches today. Filthy house needs attention.

Raahh · 19/06/2015 13:59

My house is shocking.

it's not long til the end of Wimbledon though is it?Grin

Oops. That looked nasty.

Raahh · 19/06/2015 13:59

and good luck with BT! Grouchy

Raahh · 19/06/2015 14:13

Karlovic is another big serving tall bloke. Yet, although he does ok, he doesn't wins a lot.

I'm not sure I like the fact they are all doing so well. It's not great to watch, is it.

Poor Delgado. His hair deserted him when his career did. Grin

Raahh · 19/06/2015 14:14

Grin Grin Grin Grin
Sue nearly said 'Andy likes it hard', I am sure she did!

Raahh · 19/06/2015 14:15

Hmm Castles career was worse than Delgado's - and he was shit on Strictly.Grin He is far more embarrassing than Jamie.

Raahh · 19/06/2015 14:25

I am looking forward to this match- they are so different. Shame I will miss a chunk of it. Sad

GrouchyKiwi · 19/06/2015 15:21

Have only just started watching this match. Seems to me that Raonic has the advantage over Simon.

BagelwithButter · 19/06/2015 15:31

Nice lob, Gilles! Ooh, he managed to win the game Smile

Raahh · 19/06/2015 16:01

Well, I'm glad to see that Simon has won a set.

Raahh · 19/06/2015 16:33

All very close now.

And I am having to catch up with Doctors.

Raahh · 19/06/2015 16:41

I like both of these, but I really would like Milos to win.

There, I said it. Gilles will win it now Grin

Raahh · 19/06/2015 16:48

And he did.

I am rapidly running out of people who I want to win the tournament.

in fact, there isn't anyone left. Sad

it means I can do stuff over the weekend without missing anything , though.

magimedi · 19/06/2015 16:51

GO! ANDY!!!!

Win the whole thing, followed by Wimbledon!

Grin to Raahh!

JuanPotatoTwo · 19/06/2015 16:52

Hi, seen no tennis today - been to pick Ds1 up from uni. But never mind, home in time for Andy. Lucky me.

Mama, hope all is good with you. I did see Pot's pics, god love him :(

Jamie Delgado's brother Paul has a tennis coaching business round these 'ere parts. Paul has lots more hair :)

Raahh · 19/06/2015 16:55

juan Grin Grin. it would be difficult to have less hair. Though he has some I. his chin. Like one of those pictures you can turn upside down.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/06/2015 16:58

Spent nearly a bloody hour on the phone to BT and the upshot is I'll have Internet on Tuesday. OutrageouslyGrouchyKiwi. Useless company. And it took raising a complaint to get them to set it up today instead of Monday. Adviser couldn't get me off the phone soon enough.

To cap it all off, I fell down the stairs, DD1 drew on the carpet in our shiney new house with wet chalk, DH is out till late tonight going to a fucking wine tasting for work (I am so envious) and I foolishly said yes to getting two kittens, which we pick up tomorrow. I don't like cats. I think I'll have wine for dinner.

Andy had better win today. Raahh: do you like Mueller, perchance?

Raahh · 19/06/2015 17:00

I don't really have an opinion on Muller. Grin

I am an utter jinx.

JuanPotatoTwo · 19/06/2015 17:02

Oh Grouchy :( Did you hurt yourself falling? You may fall in love with the kitties but be prepared for lots of mischief. Here, think you may need this Wine

Raahh · 19/06/2015 17:03

Thanks Brew Wine

Sorry you are having a shit day Grouchy
