OK, after freaking the bejaysus out of me with the weird trailer / advert I am intrigued and looking forward to giving this programme a viewing.

(I will have to record and watch later as I will be watching Messrs Strange and Norrell.)

Anyone else looking forward to it and hoping it lives up to the hype?

Synth not synch obvs.

BitOfFun · 26/07/2015 21:42

Ah, slight mistake there. Karen was made to replace Beatrice, the wife.

GColdtimer · 26/07/2015 21:42

Thank you BOF Smile

HelenMirrensHair · 26/07/2015 21:55

I'll admit to having a little sob when Odi was telling George that Mary was waiting for him in another room.

Trills · 26/07/2015 22:01

Joe is still not getting that they are people.

He needs to apologise to Mia. She'll forgive him because he didn't know, but it's still appropriate to apologise if you have accidentally wronged someone.

OstentatiousBreastfeeder · 26/07/2015 22:01

I've said it before, but I really can't believe how good this is!

Finale next week! Sad

winewolfhowls · 26/07/2015 22:03

Nooo George! He was my favourite character I wanted to know all about his back story.

HelenMirrensHair · 26/07/2015 22:03

Oh Leo no. . .

Trills · 26/07/2015 22:03

Is "in another room" a nice way of saying the afterlife?

I know Odi is basically malfunctioning but it still seemed like a nice thing for George to hear as he died.

Italiangreyhound · 26/07/2015 22:06

DefinitelyMaybeNo Max didn't need to get recharged, he just called Leo and said remember that postcard in our father' study, top right pin board, or whatever, meet you there!

BRILLIANT episode. Bit intense!

MadeMan · 26/07/2015 22:25

Enjoyed tonight's sadder episode.

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/07/2015 22:34

Ooh, can I join?

I am so hoping that the first 'ordinary' synth they will give full consciousness to is Odi.

I luffs Odi.

MadeMan · 26/07/2015 22:41

They might all get shot at dawn next week though, so won't be able to give Odi anything. Sad

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/07/2015 22:48

No! They will be saved and Odi MUST live!

Pretty sure there will be a second series.

Italiangreyhound · 26/07/2015 22:52

I can't quite believe Laura is vaguely hostile to Mia as if she was complicit in having an affair with Joe!

Italiangreyhound · 26/07/2015 22:53

And why would the thing in their heads need all of them to make it work. That is just bad planning!

oneowlgirl · 26/07/2015 23:13

Great episode tonight - loved it!

Rummikub · 26/07/2015 23:20

Fab episode.

They can't get shot. There's a second series in the Swedish version so surely that must mean a second one for us too?

Italiangreyhound · 26/07/2015 23:26

Rummikub - is it based on something Swedish, ahhh I thought it was British!

Gruach · 26/07/2015 23:31

That was just too much. I'm exhausted!

Will Tudor (Odi) has said there's plenty left for a second series ...

Max prayed in an earlier episode - he deserves a miraculous resurrection. And what's wrong with Fred? Do they all have some inherent weakness that will inevitably wipe them out?

Goodness that was a shocking ending.

Kitella · 26/07/2015 23:31

Yes, Italian The Swedish series it is based on was called Real Humans. I have been reading the Wikipedia page to see if I can get any hints. Unfortunately, it is too different to really get anything meaningful from it. That and I get confused by all the character name changes Grin.

However, I'm hopeful there's enough to run a secomd series, and I read an interview where they said they've left enough not solved to leave the door open. As it is the best C4 drama in years, I can't believe they won't.

I have loved every episode. The writing and the acting has been superb.

Rummikub · 26/07/2015 23:31

italan yes it's based on a Swedish series called real humans. But it's had a bit of a re-write by the British writers.

Sternin · 26/07/2015 23:36

Has anyone else noticed how much the non-synth police detective looks like an older Alex Brooker?

Gruach · 26/07/2015 23:37

Oh hell. I've just realised Pobb or whatever he's called put some (strangely untraceable by a conscious synth) tracking device into poor, brilliant Fred. That's why Fred was malfunctioning. And then he waited till they were all together to ... pounce.

Gruach · 26/07/2015 23:39

Sternin he looks like his old self - Arby - in "Utopia".
